Sera heart almost jump out of her chest as she saw Euphora sleeping under water. Thankfully she didn't went for a dive instead she slowly went in. She got shocked as she realized something underneath. Due to the mist around the room she wasn't able to see what is underneath the water from the point of her view, sitting down or bowing down, is the only thing you do to see what is on the tub.
Sera pull her out immediately and slap her really hard to wake her up however, she is really in deep sleep. She can't believe that someone like her slept on a tub. No words came out of her mouth but instead a sigh nd a deep breath. She carry her on her back and put her on her room. She forgot to take a dip on the hot bath.
She went to her room and threw herself on the bed as and rolled over. she kicked her foot on the air in excitement.
"Finally! I am able to move on from another town. Now, the only thing I can do is keep on gaining merit to advance to be silver plate Adventurer." She muttered to herself. She grab the tag on her copper plate tag that hang on her neck. She look at it.
"I should try look around the town tomorrow" She said with excitement.
"What should I buy? Where should I go" She said as she look up trying to think what she would do. trying to imagine what will going to happened for tomorrow.
"I should tell them about the plans for tomorrow." She muttered, she closed her eyes. At the moment she closed it, she fall asleep so easily.
After having a nice long rest inside the house they rented. Sera went to the adventurer guild to check for new quest. She put her hand under her chin as she checks the papers that is pinned on the wooden board where the papers are being pinned.
"Are new here? I never see a face like that around here before" The man full iron plate armor yielding a long sword and a shield. On his hand he holds his helm. He was tall big man who has a red shoulder length hair.
He smiled to sera with sweet friendly smile. Sera smiled back and answer. It would be rude if she didn't respond. She did want to ask him for some good quest to take too.
"Ah yes. I am from the next town not far away from here."
The man open his mouth and immediately close it and nod.
"Oh, I forgot, my name was Denver." He stretched his hands towards her and she mindlessly took it and shake it.
"Why not join my party. We don't mind taking new adventurer in our party though"
"ehh. I already had two members though." The guys scratch his head after hearing her respond.
"Eh. Too bad for me I guess… but as a fellow adventurer I'll give you this stuff." He handed Sera a scroll. She took it and look at it afterward. It was a scroll containing a magic spell.
"Are you sure about this? This might cost much when you sell it" Sera exclaimed. She can't believe that this man is willing to give her something that is something worth a gold.
"That's why I'm trying to sell it to you. you are a mage right?"
"I'm sorry but I do not have aany money." She was about to hand it back to him but he refuse.
"I'm just kidding, well no one is buying that magic scroll either, they said its letter is ineligibly written. Plus no one can read that crap. They even mistook it as a fake… so why not take it as a gift from a fellow good adventurer?" He said as he smiled. she smiled back to him and took the scroll. She was wondering why she can read it though but she kept it a secret. If she said so, it would only cause trouble for her.
"Thank you very much for this gift. I will treasure it and remember that a handsome guy named Denver that gave me this worthless trash" She exclaimed. Denver just laughed at her as she mentioned him as handsome.
He knows he isn't that handsome, He didn't even have any girlfriends no girls even tried to talk to him like this girl in front of him… if only the girl is on the same age of him he already fell out of love but that won't do either. The girl she like was tall, slim and strong. Not this little girl that doesn't even have a figure.
"Geez. I am not handsome. So, I'll get going then. Have a nice day out there" he bid his farewell.
"Thank you very much. Take care too." She said back. She turn around and her heart almost jump out from her rib cage.
"You startled me!" She exclaimed as she touch her chest.
"What?" she asked after realizing his pair of eyes was glued on her. "Something on my face?" She asked.
"Nothing is there. Who was that guy over there?" he whispered to her. Sera focus her eyes on the pinned quest on the board not minding Forest beside her.
"Where is Euphora? She can't wander around the streets and do whatever she likes" Sera said as she grab a piece of paper she saw.
"Look at this, some slimes are seen in the river back, they're spawning real quickly" she exclaimed and showed him the quest.
"I should try practicing my magic too" she said as she smiled.
"Didn't you said we should go have a rest for the meant time?" Forest stared at her and she stare back. she opened her mouth slowly.
"Ah. Yes.. you can do what ever you want but stay close to her. I'm going to do something for myself too" She said putting her hands on her waist.
"No. we are going with you too" He replied Sera shakes her head telling him no. She wanted to be alone and do her best to be strong too. If they come along, Euphora will only do all the work. She wanted to surpass Euphora and him. Despite his skills and abilities sealed. she feel like he is way more stronger than her. Of course she was the youngest of the three but she felt that she is the oldest of the three.
"But..."
"Just do it. Look before Euphora. You can stay home with her or roam around. we have 1 month to leave anyway." she reach for her purse hanging on her waist. she look inside of it and counted the coins inside of it.
"Here... I'm giving you 2 silver to buy something you like. That is already enough for the two of you right?" She asked he nodded in respond.
"Okay... take care out there. Don't take quest that you can't handle just becuse of big reward" Forest sigh. She smiled to let him know that he has nothing to worry. But after all he can help him self worry about her since she was always picking up something that worth big. Despite the difficulties.
"I'll go back then" He said and wave good bye to her. As he vanish from her sight she look at her hand that hold the quest she took out from the board.
"Well, maybe I should try to eliminate those slimes" she said and put it inside her pocket.
Walking on the prairie From her place she can see the translucent looking jelly devouring the tree alone. From its look, it seems that it already took a large amount of nutrients from other living things it devours.
the slime was not alone but trillion of them was on feast. the big one in who just finished melting the tree inside of it made a move. It seems that Sera was felt by the slime.
the slime moves slowly toward her. as it moves she produces another slime out of her body.
Sera raised her staff and made a fire compressed and shaped into thin strips of fires. she produce more of them in front and release them. They flew towards the slimes the large one produce. The melted in heat and left the burned core inside of them.
She remembers the scroll she got from Denver. She took the scroll out and recite the words written on it. She doesn't really understand what those mean but well it might be useful though.
As she feel her mana flowing out of her body she felt chilly arround her. some unrecognizable things float up from the ground. The are white and translucents things. at first glance It look like something that is nothing to worry about. until they fully let out their whole body. they float mid air holding scythe as weapon which blade was as white as marble. they are dress in white tattered dresses and their face is distorted, hair floated defying the law of gravity.
two apparitions equip with scythe float still awaiting for the command to be given toward them. Sera didn't waste any time either. She was curious on how the summoned apparitions would do for her. or how effective they are to the hundred of slime out there.
as she yelled her command the two swiftly fly and swing their scythe like they are trimming the tall grass in the yard. they slice the slimes into two. cutting the core inside of them. the small slimes are almost gone. However the enormous slime was trying to make more armies of slime. Sera give her best to made a big fire ball from her place. trying to kill the slime in one shot however she feel her mana tiring her out. The fire ball she made was almost as big as the slime. she swing her staff pointing it to the enormous slime. The fire ball flew toward the slime hitting it and making a big impact. the enormous slime were almost out but it recollect itself again since the core were merely scratch by her attack.
"Aww men" She exclaimed dropping her shoulders down. She grab a vial secured on on her waist and drink its contents. Her mana was brought back again. She tried making another fire spear, longer and thick this time than the first one. the two apparitions finished their job and they attack the last slime. They just took it easily making Sera cancel her magic attack.
"Geeez!" She said... she tiredly look at the two. their horrifying face made her flinch back.
"they'll leave after an hour maybe" She muttered and sat on the ground. start picking up the cores of the slimes that are scattered on the ground. She put them on the pouch as she count them in.
It was already noon when she finished picking up. stretched her body as she stood. Every joints of her body ached.
"AHH." She exclaimed she look up from the sky as she feel the clearness of the weather. She look around and the apparitions she summoned is already gone. She sigh and went on her way to the town.
She hum while she walk. she just able to kill so many slime. she wonder what to buy from it. Yes, She should buy something that can be use. Potions, herb nor a armor repair kit. Or maybe some power up potions.
"I can't believe I got something that is so coo but creepy" She muttered as she remember how she got a summoning scroll.
"Maybe if we are able to rank up to silver. I will look for undiscovered ruins nor labyrinth." She said and began thinking of treasures she might find inside of it. However, she unsatisfied of her self. If she will keep using that, will she able to step up? No, she had to keep on making her spells more stronger than before.
Her eyes widened, an Idea went inside of her.
"Why didn't I thought about it." She said and hurried back to the town.
She went to the adventurer guild and let the Lady on the counter pay her back, since she hunted down more than the required number. She got a bonus from her work. She smiled and went out. She was able to get some 20 silvers from the original quest plus 5 silvers.
She went strolling on the town looking around. She walk in every path she can think of entering. On her way on finding the town library her stomach crumble. She forgot she didn't even ate lunch. She look up and she found herself standing in front of the restaurant named 'Golden Arrow' She went in and sat, she look around and everyone was enjoying the food that is serve to them. A woman in her mid 20's immediately ran to her and gave her menu.
She ordered and wait for it to come. As she got her meal she ate it fast as she can. After eating she called the lady serving the customer.
"How ma I help you?" She asked.
"How much was it?" She replied as she took her pouch on her pocket.
"30 copper." She replied.
"By the way, Where is the Library?" She asked after paying her meal. The lady replied immediately to her question.
"the library is not far from here. just walk straight from that path and turn right before the inn named 'Rezeli' . You can see the church there and a tower next to it. walk pass through it and turn left. "
"Thank you very much" she smiled and walk away. She followed the lady instruction and eventually found herself in the town Library.
