Sera went again on the adventurer's guild just to look at the recent quest posted on the board. There is nothing good posted in the board. It was only about gathering herbs near the riverbank, some silver plated quest and mithril plated quest was on the board.
Its look like she had to go back home again and practice using magic. After all she is able to manage how to control her mana consumption.
On her way home. the people she pass by were talking to each other. She didn't mean to listen but they talk way to loud so she happened to hear them talking about the wandering mercenaries from the capital. Why would some mercenaries from the capital wandered over here. well, they are wanderers, what with that question?
Mercenaries are like adventurers the only difference between them are, they do not go wandering over the lands that is uncommon and not yet wandered by the adventurers. They are paid in cash depending to the job they'll take sometimes they are the one who priced the service they'll do to their clients. They are more likely to be hired by people from noble family and the such. However the wandering mercenaries are the one who doesn't settle on one town nor capital. they goes to every town and city nor nation. they don't bow to any hierarchy but they took the job that hire them. some of them stay put on their own country...
She hurried back home after hearing those. Mercenaries are highly skilled in battles. they are the people who you might not like to encounter. they do have keen sense of intuition.
they do go were they feel like to go since they follow their guts.
"What's going on outside. they people are kind of loud" Euphora asked.
"Well there are some wandering mercenaries that will going to stay here in the town. Also, it would be best If we stay here for the mean time" She replied and throw herself on the wooden chair. she sigh how boring will be again.
"Forest left after you earlier though" Euphora replied like she doesn't care. she threw a glance at Sera and did expect her to sat upright in shock.
"What did you just said. Why didn't you stop him?" She said and flew out of the house.
She look around in every corner of the streets. She don't want to let Forest met those mercenaries. After all his Fancy sword might catch their attention and ask him for a duel.
"Oh no. what if they found him and found out that he was a demon after all." she muttered as she Search for him intently.
her mind is astray, she don't know where Forest might have gone into. The town was quite large. The people in the town increase unlike yesterday.
"... they are on the Town Plaza!"
"I heard that they are recruiting members to join them... I don't know Why not lets go over there and find things out?"
"Sure do, I'm quite curious about it"
The two passing by her talked about the Mercenaries that visited the town. Maybe She should just go to the Adventurers guild and wish for forest to be in there.
"Why would he think of going out without me. What if he got lost?" She angrily said to herself.
"Now, I look like a mother looking for her lost son. Dang it" She muttered walking directly to that way to the Adventurers guild.
She opened the door and the people inside where almost countable with both of her hands. Forest is not in there either. Where could that be...
"Aren't you are the friend of the man who always wear cloak who always conceal his appearance?" A fellow adventurer said to her. She simply nodded in reply and her face displays how worried she is right now.
"I saw him on the Plaza. well, Nimrod the said strongest mercenary force him to joined them I do not know the reason eh." he said.
"So what did he do?" Sera said in disbelief. That what she's been saying! She don't want to be caught in any trouble but trouble do look for a way to her.
"He refuse and Nimrod was persistent fellow. He asked him for a deal."
'Deal. cheese it! I got to go'
"thank you for letting me know. I had to go" She said and rushed toward the town Plaza. What if Forest cloak has been take off during their duel. Everyone will see his true Identity! He might be burned alive nor what ever.
She run like she has been chased by a bull. Sweats in her temple build up.
finally She was able to reach the plaza. It was packed with people who wanted to watch. Maybe a duel has begun already.
"Excuse me" She squirmed in to the little gaps between the people who was standing on the way. She pushed herself through it.
"Hey watch it. you dang monkey" the people who got pushed yelled to each other. Sera didn't mind them since she has the only thing she had in mind. she finally got through and saw Forest standing in the center. The man who has bulky body swing his sword and showcase his skill to the people who were wtching.
"That man has no chance to Nimrod. he was skilled and did killed a hundred enemies in one swing"
"What Hundred" Sera ejaculated and turn to the men who was alking.
"...Eh... Yes according to those who seen it" The startled man replied to her.
"Don't you know him? He ws one the strongest mercenaries but he is the weakest of all the strongest. there is 13 mercenaries that are said to be strong. he is on thirteenth place." the other man said.
"I didn't knew about it. I Only knew Klaiden Cannon The mercenary who can par with the demons" Sera said.
"Now you said it he was here too" he said making Sera's eyes widened in disbelief.
"No way!" She exclaimed and look at the two on their eyes.
"yes it is. Look at there, He is now approaching the two" the other man said and Sera eyes shifted right away on the area.
'No...no... What should I do?' Without even thinking her body moves in its own accord running between Forest and the bulky man named Nimrod. Klaiden in the other hand halted his steps too.
Sera just stopped as she saw herself in the middle of them. All the people eyes were pasted on her.
"Excuse my intrussion however my friend here has no desire to join you and fight you. Please excuse us" Sera shouted and bowed her head.
"Your friend Take the deal. If he is able to scratch my skin with his sword, We won't force him. However if he didn't done it on the time given then he will join us" Klaiden spoke as he walk towards her.
"No... He is not a fighter. Forcing him to join you won't do a thing. He is as weak as a normal person." She said trying to persuade them.
"Stop it right away, Sera I can do this" Forest intercept them. Sera glared at him.
"No..." she said hardly.
"You Little girl should just stay right there and watch us fight. I won't hurt him" Nimrod said.
'why do I have to do this crap' she said in her mind. She act so high and mighty from the outside however her mind is now in panic.
'Its either this way or that way...' she said, she can't even think right now already.
She grab Forest and they walk away.
"Hey are you two running away?" nimrod said with a hint of mockery. The people gathering began to shout wildly at them throwing nonsense words.
"Its risky to fight them. What if they manage to take your cloak off? it would be bad. And loo around us! All the eyes were on us." she said to him.
"I will be careful then" he replied and pat her head. she snap his head right away and glared at him.
she pull out her staff from her pouch and threw a large amount of water to him and froze him right away.
"What do you think you're doing" Forest shouted and look at her with incredulity. She turned around and realized everyone has become silence.
"I see, you are a magic caster" Klaiden said amused from what he saw but not that amazed. He seen many Mages in the capital and seeing one who can freeze water is quite normal.
"Are you in case the lost Daughter of the duchy?" Klaiden asked again. Sera didn't answer his question but glared at them.
"You said, I will only have to scratch you right?" she said seriously. She manage to talk to them without her voice shaking.
"Oh! so you are going to fight us in his behalf. How ammusing was it." Nimrod said and laughed like there is something funny. "Okay then if you manage to hurt me We won't ask your friend to join us but you will join us in his behalf" He said and grinned.
'You fucking bastard eh" Sera thought angrily. instead of saying it she casted water daggers on the air and it flew toward Nimrod. He laughed and evaded the attacks so easily like a piece of cake.
Since everyone saw that she is a water wielding mage she had to stick on it or else her future won't be out of her reach.
After the flying water dagger she threw couple of water orbs to him and make them blast midway. the water splashed in Nimrod's body. There is the part she make the water froze. She smirk, as she was able to manage to gave him a handicapped.
the Ice the is on his skin didn't made him slow.
"Are you done? It's my turn then" He said with amused smiled. he leap to her place and struck his large Battle axe. The impact even made a shockwave making Sera to be thrown away.
"I'm not yet down you ugly gorilla." SHe said and stirred her staff like she is controlling something. A icicle pierce Nimrod from his back and he wince in pain. He took it out immediately and the wound immediately healed.
"How was that? I got no injury" he said and smiled. This man was been playing dirty. every one in the town cheered for him from able to get away from it.
"No. That can't be." she said. Only mages can heal themself and heal others. Someone is healing him. she saw Klaiden smile from the side of her eyes.
'He isn't a magic caster either.' She thought.
"The girl wearing a white coat." Forest linked to her. her eyes immediately went to the girl who was silently watching them. She wore a white with gold linings.
"Playing dirty huh?" She exclaimed and set another three icicles in the air. She threw it to Nimrod but her target was not him. She threw it toward the girl with white cloak. Due to sudden change of her attack she hasn't able to react in any way. She bring back the form of the icicle into a water and it splashed through her. she make the water condense again and make it freeze.
Klaiden and Nimrod wasn't able to react after Sera saw their tricks in their sleeve. she took the time casting another spell and she thwack Nimrod with two Icicles.
"Now. I won right" She exclaimed. She released Forest from being held tight.
Klaiden Laugh and look at them.
"Well It seems that you got through." He said. Sera release the girl afterwards. The girl look at her and did not say anything. Sera didn't stay for any longer. Afterall, she want to leave and hide immediately.
"Wait..." Klaide stopped them from leaving. Sera halted and turn her head to him.
"You have to come with us... you parents are looking for you?" He said. Now he was so closed to her, she realized that He was one of his type. she gulped and avoid his gaze immediately.
"You got the wrong person. I'm not a noble or a royalty. I'm a mere adventurer trying to live my life in its fullest" She replied.
"Argh... this is why I hate dealing with brats" he whispered with a hint annoyance in his voice.
"Excuse me but I told you I am not a noble. You got the wrong person" she said and left him. He was about to say a word but she act deaf and continued to leave.
'This is why I hate some Handsome guys. they're always full of them self' she sighs.
