A few minutes after 8pm that day, Lissy dressed in nude dress has graced the lobby of the Grand Hyatt. She looks so pristine in the sleeveless dress in Sabrina neckline. It does not show much of the skin but definitely accentuates her curves. She was wearing flats hence she looked younger than her real age.
She was greeted by Li Bin who has been waiting for him few minutes before 8pm. He looked at Lissy with admiration.
"Did I keep you waiting for long?" She was apologetic and smiled sweetly at him.
"No i just came down a little early but not so long ago." In his mind Lissy is worth his wait and patience.
Gentleman as he is, Li Bin led Lissy out, hand gesturing they go. He kept a decent distance to Lissy.
Unknown to the two, a pair of hawk eye was observing their situation. Just when they reached the door Tim stood and followed. He was expecting to tail a car but surprisingly they just walked. Though he is prepared to follow them on car, this was easier. From time to time Li Bin was holding her back to support Lissy as they walk. From a far you may think they are a couple who is at getting to know each stage.
The two walked for around half kilometer to a Japanese restaurant, Matsusaka Tei. This is a popular restaurant near Hyatt. Li Bin chose this restaurant because of the good authentic Japanese food and the private room.
"You booked for a private room? Don't you want to eat with everyone else in the restaurant?" Lissy was surprised too.
"We can enjoy the food and each other's company privately." Li Bin gave her a smile that showed crow feet in his eyes. His complexion is too nice for a guy. He doesn't seem to have pores. He does look that handsome but he got his own charm especially when he talks. You know he is good mannered.
"Will you be bored looking at me for the next hour while having sushi?" He joked as they walked toward the private room.
"Of course not! What are you talking about." Lissy blushed.
Li Bin couldn't help but chuckled thinking he won a point with that.
They spent a good one and half hours chatting while enjoying the food. They talk on random topics, anything under the sun.
"Do you want to have dessert or coffee?"
"I don't think I can take anything now. I am so full. OMG ever since I went to Shanghai I think I gained so much weight."
"What?! Where in that body is the fat residing? You run and go to the hotel gym. You actually burn your food intake. You look gorgeous with any dress because of that. Stop shaming your own body. I do think you look great with it."
This got Lissy's cheeks left and right blushing. Li Bin just complimented her figure.
"Then maybe we can just have coffee or tea back at the hotel Lobby."
Soon they tow went out of the restaurant. The observing eyes saw them. Lissy was almost bumped by a passerby but Li Bin immediately shielded her. They walked back the hotel with smile on their faces.
Meantime Tim took another route and walked with long strides back to Hyatt. While waiting for them, Tim messaged X. Since Lissy mentioned about team dinner he is probably invited. Tim then learned that X and the 2 other guy is actually flying back to Shanghai tomorrow noon. They are done, the ceremonial contract signing will happen in a two weeks time. However Lissy is extending her stay instead of heading back home.
He prepared for the next big question. Working with Dindin, Tim is able to once again set up inside Lissy's room. He prepared a champagne and a card with something written on it.
All the while Tim thought they will be back at the hotel. He was waiting for almost an hour so he decided to message Lissy.
Tim: Honey are you done with your dinner? Still up?
Lissy: I am having coffee with everyone at the hotel's cafe.
Tim: Don't stay too late I will wait for you.
Tim is a bit frustrated this is the second lie for sure. He saw it only the two of them going out of the restaurant plus X did confirm.
Lissy: Alright I will message you later.
It was almost 12 midnight when Tim heard the sound key card opening the room. He was sitting elegantly on the side sofa enjoying the city view.
"OMG!"
Tim smiled, "see I waited for you honey!"
"Why do you keep on surprising me this way! It's a good thing I don't have any heart problems. You can easily give me a heart attack!"
Tim walked towards her and kissed her temple. "I thought it would be fun to surprise my fiancé!"
Lissy side glanced the roses arranged in the side table. It made her feel a little nervous it was given to her by Li Bin. Thankfully she removed the card.
She hugged Tim and asked, "did you leave work just to see me?"
"Of course! I told you I can fly round trip just to see you."
"That is sweet but expensive!"
"Are you trying to tell me you are not worth it? Or this is future Mrs Connor showing off how she will run the finances?"
Lissy slightly trembled at the mention of Mrs Connor. Few days ago, Tim brought up marrying legally first.
They sat at the couch in the room. Tim opened the champagne, the ice on the bucket melted but the water is still cold.
"Honey! Care to open that card?"
Lissy just noticed the white card on the table. It's certainly not marriage certificate. What could it be? An invitation? There was a simple question written on it.
Mrs Connor by Thursday?
Chills run down Lissy's spine. She is a gut feel that Tim is up to something by showing today unannounced. Suddenly her head is spinning g faster than the speed of light.
There was deafening silence.
"Hey are you having second thoughts?"
Lissy let out a sigh, "Tim I thought we agreed in this already. You promised to support me in my career for now."
"What does that mean? I agree to support you in your career. 100% no it's 200% I just asked you to be Mrs Connor sooner. How is it related?" Tim just wanted to legally be married to her. They don't need to announce to the whole world while they prepare for grand wedding next year. But he needs to be sure Lissy is willing to be Mrs Connor!
"I won't be able to focus being your wife. You are pushing me to the corner."
"Pushing you to a corner? Why? How?" Tim is now annoyed. He totally can't understand why Lissy think her wings will be crumpled if they legally marry.
"How can I work properly thinking I am out of the country away from you. It will make me feel guilty!" She hope he buys this reasoning.
"I don't exactly get what is there to be guilty about Lissy." This time he called her in her name instead of honey. "What will make you feel guilty? That I eat alone, not fulfilling your duty in bed? Tell me?"
Lissy was out of words, she is not prepared for this. She thought by being silent or veering away from this topic, he will not bring it up. They are engaged anyway.
