Chereads / The Anomaly: Arise / Chapter 38 - The Lion's Last Roar

Chapter 38 - The Lion's Last Roar

Glass did come up with some plan to execute their task. First off, he and the others headed to Calcipher's laboratory to fetch some gadgets to help them throughout their mission. He got them some night vision goggles since they'll be diving into the dark woods once again. Luckily, he's been assisting Calcipher before so he happened to know the code to the laboratory and he knows the basics on how to use his inventions. On top of having the night vision feature, it also has heat sensors and a built in communication device so they won't need Pandora's Anomaly to talk to each other while on the field.

"This is neat." Surge commented. "I didn't know Calcipher has these kinds of stuff."

"You're not paying attention too much." Glass responded.

"Do you think you can remove the communication device from it?" Beast asked. "I think I could be able to utilize my Anomaly to help me see in the dark more effectively than last night."

"Well, that's convenient." Surge muttered. "I wish my Anomaly could do that."

"Of course, man." Glass replied. He went ahead to do some quick tinkering and he was able to remove the communication device from the goggles then gave it to Beast.

Next, Glass pointed out that they should be wary about the remaining military forces that were left behind as per Pandora. Beast understood the situation so he volunteered to scout the area and take out anyone in the perimeter who is closely watching the Hill House. He quickly transformed into his falcon form and swept the area. Sometime later, he confirmed that there were five snipers scattered at random spots closely eyeing the place. He did not hesitate to take down all of them by paralyzing them with him transforming himself into a snake biting them one by one. He confirmed that the venom he injected is not deadly so Glass and Surge shouldn't worry too much.

"You can be really scary sometimes you know." Surge teased. "I'm glad we're in the same side."

"So far so good guys." Glass commended. "Let's keep it that way."

"Roger that." Surge and Beast responded.

"Let's go!" Glass commended. Then, the three of them ran as swiftly and as stealthily as they can into the dark wilderness.

They've been wandering inside the woods while being watched by a number of wild animals and the crescent of the moon for quite some time now but there are no signs of Sandata or even Feral. However, they suddenly heard footsteps nearby. It sounded that it's a group of people so they hurriedly hidden themselves to wherever place closest. Surge ran towards a nearby bush, Glass hid in a gap underneath a boulder and Beast thought fast enough that he transformed into his monkey form and watched the passersby from the treetops.

"No way!" Surge exclaimed quietly.

"What is it? Who are they?" Glass asked.

"They're Keepers." Beast confirmed. "It appears that they're doing their patrolling the area."

"Well, this mission shot up to one difficulty higher. I didn't expect the military will still linger in the woods under the dead of night." Glass responded.

"I'm shaking but it makes it more exciting." Surge commented.

"There's only five of them. Should I strike?" Beast asked.

"No. Let them pass." Glass firmly responded. "There's no telling how many they really are in the area. If they notice this unit is not responding, more of those Keepers might come swarming in." He explained.

"Hey, what do you think would be the Anomaly of whomever it is lurking around here?" One Keeper soldier asked.

"Beats me. Whatever it is, we should be ready to contain and capture them. That's what we're trained for, right?" The female Keeper soldier responded which appears to be the leader of this unit.

"I haven't got any encounters with an Anomaly. I wonder how it would feel like." The third Keeper soldier next to them commented.

"It's very nerve-wracking yet very exciting at the same time. Once you've captured one, you will always want to capture more." The fourth Keeper soldier at the back responded.

"Calm down soldier. You're starting to sound like villain. Don't forget that we're assigned to be in this operation to save humanity and that is all." The fifth and last Keeper soldier replied firmly.

"These people are such pain in the neck." Beast muttered to himself. "I should just end them while I still have a chance."

"Contain yourself, Beast. You know you shouldn't." Glass responded.

"Quiet down guys. They're closing in." Surge commented.

The Keepers' unit passed by as uneventful as it can be. They didn't suspect that Anomalies are just few feet away from them already so Glass and the others continued rummaging deeper into the woods for their search for Feral and Sandata. However, they didn't expect the first Keepers they saw earlier aren't the last ones. They across couple of more units on their way towards the heart of the woods but they were lucky enough that they continue to avoid combat or even a simple encounter by hiding themselves effectively. All of a sudden, an incident is starting to surface that slowly turning the Keepers' resolve to panic.

"Keepers, some of the other units have stopped responding to our calls. Something must've attacked them." One of the Keeper soldiers announced.

"Signals are being cut off at the southern sector of the woods so approach with caution men!" Another Keeper said.

Hearing this news, every Keeper units patrolling the perimeter headed towards the southern sector of the woods. Glass, Surge and Beast also heard this announcement so they didn't wasted any more time and headed to where the Keepers are going while being as stealthy as possible. Beast seemed to not be breaking any sweat throughout their way to their destination as he can easily blend with the environment using his Anomaly. On the other hand, Glass and Surge find it quite challenging but they are managing well enough since they're not being seen by anyone.

"AH!"

"Spare me, plea-"

"Help m-"

"No!"

"Keeper! Run awa-"

A strange commotion is being heard from the area where it was said that Keepers' signals are being cut off. Keepers are being heard screaming in pain, fear and even despair. This triggered Glass, Surge and Beast to hide once again and assess the situation but they realized that they need to come even closer to see the situation more clearly. Using the heat sensors on their goggles, it appears that there are bodies lying around a few feet away from them while there's a silhouette of a woman standing at center of those bodies.

"Keeper, call for back up! This one is too strong for us to handle." One Keeper soldier commanded in panic.

"Roger that." Another Keeper soldier said.

"No, you won't." A voice of a woman said then giggled as if something funny is happening.

Glass and the others were able to move in as close as they can to clearly see what it is that is happening. With the of the moon's luminosity, it was revealed that a number of Keepers were left lying on the ground lifeless which shocked them greatly. What's more surprising is that the one who appears to have slayed these Keepers is the woman who they saw her silhouette of earlier. Looking at her at a closer distance, they saw the similar body markings etched into the woman's skin which is greatly similar to Beast's. At this point, the realization finally hit them that they finally found Sandata. Beast then got emotional seeing her sister this close after so many years.

"I know you're there. Come, show yourselves." Sandata invited as she dropped the bodies of the Keepers she just killed.

"Thana? It's you, isn't?" Beast asked as he slowly approaches his sister. Sandata got visibly taken aback the moment she saw her brother as her sharp grin faded.

"Beast, get back! She's dangerous." Glass shrieked. He and Surge then grabbed Beast by the arms to stop him.

"Didn't you see that she just killed these two Keepers, man?" Surge said. "Get a hold of yourself!"

"You brought some friends with you, kaka?" Sandata asked as she let her menacing smile be seen once more.

"Yes. They're friends of mine. I'll let introduce you to them." Beast responded.

"Beast, this is not you. Come back to your senses!" Glass said.

"Look. These Keepers got deep cuts and slices but I don't see any murder weapons." Surge whispered to Glass and Beast.

"It's most likely her Anomaly. She can transform parts of her body as bladed weapons remember?" Glass responded.

"What are you whispering about?" Sandata asked. "Let me join you." She muttered.

Sandata suddenly rushed towards where Glass, Surge and Beast are at. They noticed that Sandata is transforming her arms into a swords' blades so they prepared themselves to jump back to avoid her impending attack but she's too fast that they couldn't move. Before they knew it, Sandata already swung her blades but nothing seemed to happen at first until both Glass and Surge's goggles were sliced in half then eventually falling to the ground. Glass and Surge snapped out of their astonishment towards Sandata's skills as soon as their broken goggles hit the ground and they finally had a chance to step back.

"Didn't you hear what I said?" Sandata asked firmly. "I said. Let me join you." She said with her now cheerful voice. She seemed to be well accustomed in changing moods.

"You really are an Anomaly!" Beast proudly said. "You must join us. We'll keep you safe."

"Are you insane?" Surge exclaimed. "She just attacked us! Why would we let her come with us?"

"Surge, you're bleeding!" Glass shrieked. He saw the cut on Surge's forehead from Sandata's attack earlier.

"You are too, Glass." Surge responded after seeing a similar wound on Glass' forehead.

"I'll save your friends some slack, kaka. I won't join you." Sandata responded.

"Why? Is it because you want to go back home?" Beast asked. "Our home and our entire clan are gone now and we're the only ones left."

"I know. Fun, right?" Sandata responded like it's nothing to her that the home they grew up in and the members of their clan are just nothing. This visibly troubled Beast especially.

"What does that mean?" Beast asked as numerous emotions are starting to fill him up.

"Hey, I just remembered the news regarding the massacre of their entire clan." Surge commented.

"Yeah, I just did too. It is said that the Ojibwe Clan was massacred by an Anomaly and only the prince and the princess of the clan were the only survivors who are now standing in front of us." Glass explained.

"I'm very glad that you're safe but what happened back at home, Thana? Tell me, please." Beast asked.

"I admired your intelligence before, kaka. But it appears you've become dull. Is that what you've become slacking off with those fools?" Sandata responded aggressively. "It was I who killed every single people in our clan!" She announced then went on to laugh menacingly.

"What?" Beast, Glass and Surge responded in great disbelief.

"You heard me right. I killed them all!" Sandata exclaimed proudly.

"You're kidding, right? Tell me you're kidding! You couldn't kill a fly and you're telling me you've killed all of our clan members? That's absurd!" Beast responded.

"I've been longing to tell you that story and the entirety of it." Sandata responded. "After all, it's your entire fault why it went down like it did."

"Why?" Beast asked.

"Attention all Keepers in the area. A suspected Anomaly incident is occurring downtown. We are requesting immediate back up." A soldier announced heard from the radios of the fallen Keepers next to them.

"That must be Feral." Sandata said. "He's one of the reasons you went out here, right? Aren't you going to check that out?" She asked.

"Glass, Surge, you two check that out." Beast commanded. "I'll handle Thana myself."

"No way. You can't handle her on your own." Surge responded.

"Are you sure, Beast?" Glass asked.

"Glass? Beast needs our assistance here." Surge replied.

"Back off, Surge! Let me handle this." Beast shrieked. "Please."

"Fine. Glass, let's go get Feral." Surge said.

"Be careful, Beast. Don't you dare die on us when we get back." Glass reminded.

"Don't worry. There's no one dying tonight." Beast replied. "Now, go."

Glass and Surge headed out towards where the announcement pointed out. As usual, both of them are trying their best to be us undetected as possible. They seemed to be getting a knack of moving around stealthily as they are now moving from building to building as effortlessly as possible unlike while they're in the woods. On the other hand, Beast was left to confront his sister and there's no telling how this will turn out.

"So as I was saying, kaka." Sandata shared.

Sandata went ahead and shared what really happened on the day the Roaring Lions fell. She even had the time to look for a boulder to sit on. Back when Beast decided to run away from their clan upon discovering that he's an Anomaly, the succession to the throne has been left vacant. Though it was never done before, the main branch family has decided to crown the second born child, more so a woman, to be the successor to the throne.

"Because of your cowardice, all your responsibilities have been shoved at me!" Sandata exclaimed aggressively. "Anyways, back to the story." She calmly added.

Though reluctant, Sandata agreed to succeed the highest throne of their clan and eventually lead them when the time comes. Her training got more intense. She's forced to master the unique fighting style of their clan on top of other common fighting styles like what has been done to Beast. Alongside that, she had to study various forms literature to effectively lead the clan in the future. Also, she's required to execute proper etiquette at all times. In other words, she doesn't have any rooms for error. If she failed to do even just a little aspect of her training, their parents and the rest of the officials of their clan will chastise her endlessly. Eventually, Sandata's will broke.

"And this is where the exciting part comes in." Sandata cheerfully said.

While Sandata is undergoing one of her fierce trainings one day, an unusual breeze in the air embraced her it was then followed by the nearby trees swaying back and forth and the clouds moving into uncommon patterns. She immediately felt that something deep inside her changed it's as if all her bottled up anger, frustration and overall negative emotions is about to burst open but she snapped into reality and went back to her training.

"I didn't think of it at the time but telling you this right now made me realized that it was that moment my Anomaly got awakened. Fun, right?" Sandata commented. "You're not the only Anomaly in the family after all."

The tale of Sandata's night of killings continued to when she actually snapped, the very moment her morals shot out of her thoughts and the actual incident triggered it. The night she felt that unusual yet exuberating breeze, her parents and all of her mentors have decided to conduct a series of exams in regards to how well she's been receiving and understanding her studies as well as her training. Eventually, she passed all her exams with complete ease and won every single sparring match she had proudly. However, this didn't sit right with her parents.

"Well done, young mistress! You have passed all your exams with flying colors including the combat matches." Sandata's head mentor cheered. "We hope that you can continue your hard work with your future studies and further training.

"I couldn't have done any of them without your guidance, Master Maarifa. Thank you." Sandata responded respectfully. "And, I will definitely work harder moving forward. I won't let you and Mama and Baba down!"

"Congratulations, young mistress!" The rest of her teachers greeted as they bow.

"We look forward to your next matches, young mistress." The fighting mentor commented as he bow down as well.

"Let's continue working hard everyone. You're all dismissed." Sandata responded proudly.

"Young mistress, you must tend to your wounds. It's not advisable if you leave them like that." The head attendant of the family said.

"I agree with you, Lady Zima. Young mistress, you should head Lady Zima's advice." Master Maarifa responded.

"That can wait. I must show these to Mama and Baba first!" Sandata excitedly said then ran off to where her parents are.

At this point, it seems that all her pent up stress has been relieved since passing all exams is not an easy feat. The heaviness in her heart seemed to be lightening up as she hopes that her parents can finally acknowledge her as the true successor to the throne and not just be Beast's proxy. However, all the welcoming she got from them as soon as she enters their chambers are cold gazes while being embraced with heavy atmosphere. This immediately shut her spirits down.

"Why did you come here?" The Clan Chief asked coldly.

"I came to personally tell how well I did in my exams and my matches." Sandata said. She then handed her graded papers.

The Clan Chief, her father, looked at her exam papers alongside the marks she got from her matches. Though her grades are beyond passing, he doesn't seem to be elated at what he's seeing that he can't even acknowledge his daughter's achievements. After seeing all of them, he handed them back to her then gestured at her to leave their chambers. This obviously ticked her off so she decided to stay and confront her father.

"That's it? That's all the regards I get?" Sandata asked furiously. "I've worked hard for these marks, Baba! Can you at least tell me that I did well?"

"How can I say that knowing that Thandiwe can do even better?" The Clan Chief responded firmly. "I've let you learn and train for you to become the successor to the throne for years but this is all you can do? This is where your level is at? Pathetic."

"Pathetic?" Sandata replied aggressively as she strays farther and farther away from her sanity. "I never wanted to become your successor in the first place. I went on with it because you practically begged me to and now you're giving me this treatment? How could you?"

"This exchange is irrelevant. Leave these chambers or else I'-" The Clan Chief replied but was cut off.

"Or else what, Baba? Tell me!" Sandata shrieked. "Will you have your guards drag me out, throw me in some dungeon and beat me up? That's what you're good at, right? Or should I say that's what you're great at?"

"How dare you?" The Clan Chief replied becoming obviously agitated. Then, she suddenly slapped Sandata using the back of his hand. The impact immediately thrown her to the nearest wall and she eventually dropped to the ground as she struggled with the pain.

"What is happening here?" Thahani, Sandata's mother, asked as she came rushing in. She then rushed towards her daughter lying on the ground. "Thana? What are you doing here? I thought you're doing your exams?" She asked.

"Get that girl out of my sight!" The Clan Chief commanded.

"I'm sorry. I'll immediately escort her out. Please, get back to your rest." Tahani responded. She and Sandata then got out of the Clan Chief's chambers then headed to Sandata's room.

Tahani let Sandata sat on the bed as she tends to her. Sandata started crying heavily but not just due to sadness but mostly due to her anger. Anger not just what transpired between her and her father but to all the hardships she endures all these years. She became more and more untied with her former self as all negative emotions started to devour her physically, mentally and even spiritually. One wrong move will trigger the beginning of the end for the entire Roaring Lions.

"I know you're on edge, Binti. We all are." Tahani commented. "I hope you can find it in your heart to understand him."

"Are we the only ones who will adjust to his disgusting behavior?" Sandata responded aggressively. "When will he be back as the father I admire the most, the father I truly respect and most importantly, the father I love?"

"He is that, Thana. It's just that he's still struck with your brother leaving us. He hasn't been the same since Thandiwe left but he's still the Thaine I fell in love. I know that deep in my heart. I hope you find it within you to love your father as you used to."

"Thandiwe, huh? It's all about Thandiwe in Baba's book. It's been years! He should move on. We've moved on, right? He should too! It's as if she doesn't see us as his wife and daughter anymore and that makes me sick!"

"That's not easy for him, Binti. He's the first male born so he had great dreams for him. Losing him isn't easy."

"That's why I've worked so hard in Thandiwe's place and I'm still working hard up to this day! All I want is for him to see me like he sees Thandiwe."

"Binti, I know you're trying but Thandiwe set the bar really high. If you really want your father to truly acknowledge you, you must go beyond what your brother had proved."

"So you do agree that Thandiwe will always be better than me, Mama?" Sandata asked then the atmosphere in her room has become sinister all of a sudden.

"That's not what I'm implying, Binti."

"But that's not what you think, isn't it?"

"It doesn't matter what I think."

"So you really think like that. I thought you're in my side, Mama. You're just as vile as Baba."

"That's not true, Binti! You know that."

"I'm sick of you playing safe, Mama! I thought you're on my side all this time. Too bad you're not."

"What do you mean, Binti?"

Sandata slowly hugged Tahani tenderly. Tahani hugged her back as she's under the impression that her daughter is just greeting her goodnight. However, Sandata already gave in to the darkness in her heart. Sandata instinctively stared at her right arm trying to manifest the same sensation she felt when she was embraced by that unusual breeze from earlier. Then, her right arm transformed into a dagger all of a sudden. Although surprised, she immediately understood what she wanted to do.

"I love you, Binti." Tahani whispered.

"Goodbye, Tahani." Sandata muttered under her breath.

"What?" Tahani reacted.

Sandata literally stabbed her mother in the back. She immediately covered her mother's mouth to keep her from screaming. She did this horrific act as slowly as she can. For her, her mother's agony is pure entertainment. The stabbing continued until her mother almost ran out of blood. Tahani couldn't do anything anymore but to watch her daughter kill her with crying eyes. Seeing her daughter laughing and enjoying killing her made her look back in her life.

Tahani immediately remembered Sandata's younger years when she was truly happy, when she hasn't been corrupted by worldly problems and when she feels genuine love. Instead of hating her daughter or even fearing her, she felt sorry for her. She's sorry because she couldn't protect her daughter like she wanted to and like she promised while Sandata and Beast were still young. She then realized that she's failed as a mother because she lost both her son and daughter.

"I love you, Binti." Tahani said with her final moments.

Tahani's final words made Sandata cry even harder but it didn't make her stop stabbing her all over her body. Eventually, Sandata stopped as she is certain that her mother is dead. She didn't think of cleaning her mess up and even herself. She just head straight to bed while still soaked in blood. Sleep immediately caught on to her and she didn't resist so she finally took a slumber. No one in their mansion realized that Tahani is dead at this point.

"How could you kill our mother?" Beast exclaimed as he started to fill with anger. "You monster!"

"We both are, kaka. We both are." Sandata confidently responded. "But hold your horses. My story isn't finished yet. So going back, I got a super bad nightmare that night."

As Sandata shared with Beast, she had a vivid nightmare reflecting all the negative emotions she's been suppressing all these years. In her nightmare, she continues seeing and hearing things about the idea that her brother is better than him in every aspect. Her nightmare is showing her the attendants talking about how Beast is much kinder and considerate he is compared to her. She turned to a different corner and she has shown a different scenario. Her teachers are now gossiping how smarter Beast is. This made her ran away but she continues hearing similar stuff everywhere she goes.

In this same nightmare, she found herself running in a familiar corridor. Before she even realized it, she found herself standing in front of her parents' chambers. It appeared that she didn't have any other choice so she entered the chambers. As soon as she opened the doors, intense hot breeze started pouring out but she managed to completely enter. She then saw the silhouette of her parents from afar looking at her with their red glowing eyes.

"It's our worthless daughter." Nightmare Tahani commented.

"You're still here? You should be the one who ran away and not Thandiwe." Nightmare Clan Chief said.

"You must be thinking why I'm still here, right?" Nightmare Tahani asked. "Because you're a failure. You can't even kill me properly!"

"You will be the end of this great clan. Mark my words!" Nightmare Clan Chief exclaimed.

Nightmare Clan Chief and Tahani continued throwing hurtful words at Sandata which greatly built her stress up off the roof. When she thought that this couldn't get any worse, it eventually did. All their attendants, mentors and almost all the villagers suddenly entered her parents' chambers also throwing at her while they all encircle her. Sandata continue to scream her lungs out while crying hysterically. All she can do is try her best to cover her ears as she slowly dropped to the ground.

Suddenly, a hole opened on the ground swallowing her whole. As she falls towards no one knows, she continues to hear all the hate being thrown at her by everyone she knows until they all stopped. She eventually stopped falling and she then found herself in the vault where she and her parents last saw Beast. From the dark corner of that very vault, Beast emerged and stood in front of her. Like what their parents looked like, he also had red glowing eyes.

"Thandiwe?" Sandata asked. "W-what are you doing here?"

"I am here to do what I should've done before." Nightmare Beast responded. "Kill you."

Sandata saw how Beast transformed his arms into his gorilla arms. All she remembers feeling at this point is fear. There's no doubt that Nightmare Beast will definitely not hesitate but to really kill her like what he said. She tried to move but the fear already sucked out the life out of her limbs so she couldn't. She tried her best to get away but all she can do is crawl her way and gain distance from his brother so it didn't go that well.

"Prepare to die!" Beast exclaimed. He then flexed his arms and aimed it at Sandata's head and finally released it.

"No!" Sandata shrieked.

Before Sandata can even get hit by Beast's savage attack, she woke up from her nightmare as she screams her lungs out. She finally snapped back to reality as she saw her dead mother's body lying while she's still covered with dried out blood and cold sweat from her nightmare. She immediately tried out her Anomaly once again and it worked as she hoped. However, the urge to kill didn't leave her since she can't forget the trauma she felt being belittled by everyone in their clan. She wanted to kill more so she decided to finally go on to her murder spree.

In the dead of the night, when the light of the full moon is the only thing illuminating their entire village, she entered every house one by one. Killing after killing is what she's done and it genuinely gave her the feeling of freedom so it encourages her more to continue this horrific act. With her Anomaly, this late-night activity of her made it easier and more amusing for her. Her targets couldn't even scream properly as she cuts their throats. Eventually, she managed to kill everyone in their village. Men, woman and even children are dead. Even the ones who have high positions in their clan weren't saved.

All her training these past few years just helped her be the killer she didn't now she wants to be. Instead of her training and all of her knowledge help the clan grow, they were turned against it and help destroy it essentially from the inside. Knowing that she already killed everyone in the village, she realized that her father, the Clan Chief, and the rest of the people in their mansion are still alive so she went back to continue her spree.

"Young mistress, you woke up early today. It's not even risen yet, the sun." Lady Zima, the head attendant, said as she approached Sandata. "Is that blood? Why are you covered in so much blood?"

Without any hesitations, Sandata rushed towards her and stabbed her in the neck on the spot making her bleed to death eventually. She continued killing all their attendants and guards with a bright but menacing grin on her face. No amount of blood will stop her from doing what she really wants. After killing everyone who works for their family, she decided to go back to her parents' chambers and have his father join her mother on the other side. However, she was not as stealthily as she hoped she'd be since her father noticed her approach.

"Who is there?" The Clan Chief asked as he grabbed his spear and pointed it at the entrance of his chambers.

"It's me, Baba, your beloved daughter." Sandata whispered as she suddenly showed up behind the Clan Chief.

Sandata went inside the chambers from the window instead of the door she swiftly yet quietly approached her father from the back. She didn't waste anymore time as she stabbed her father at the back right after she announced her arrival. The Clan Chief immediately grabbed her from the back and threw her as hard as he can but she safely landed at the cushions near the chambers' entrance. At this point, the Clan Chief had a clear view of his daughter. He saw that Sandata is covered in a lot of dirt and a lot more blood.

"What have you done?" The Clan Chief asked as he immediately felt disgrace towards his daughter. "What have you done?" He asked again more aggressively.

"Nothing, Baba." Sandata responded trivially. "Let's just say that I've redid my exams. That's all. You'll be proud of me this time."

"Cut the lies, Thana! What did you do?" The Clan Chief exclaimed as he pointed his weapon at her.

"Are you going to fight me, Baba? What an honor!" Sandata replied excitedly. "Try me." She said as she suddenly sounded sinister.

Before the Clan Chief can even move a muscle, Sandata immediately rushed at her as she flashes her already transformed arms at him. He was surprised as he saw his daughter's bladed arms because this means that she's an Anomaly too. He didn't get enough time to react as he focuses his thoughts in defending himself against Sandata's attacks. Though the Clan Chief is a celebrated warrior himself, Sandata's tenacity on top of her being an outstanding fighter herself is overwhelming him.

"What's the matter, Clan Chief? You're losing against a woman!" Sandata teased then laugh maniacally.

"Silence! Once I defeated you, you'll be banished from the clan!" The Clan Chief exclaimed.

"You must be thinking why your guards or anyone rushing in. That's because I' killed them all! I mean everyone in the village. Everyone!" Sandata responded then continued to laugh menacingly.

Sandata's statement immediately made the Clan Chief lose his mind. His attacks become more unpredictable, more aggressive but much easier to read for Sandata. She let her father wreak havoc in his chambers until he loses his energy because it entertaining for her. She had fun witnessing her father slipping away from reality slowly but surely. Eventually, Sandata got bored and decided to finish what she started.

"Enough of that already. Repent everything you've done on the afterlife, Baba." Sandata stated.

The Clan Chief was catching his breath while kneeling on the ground. Due to the devastation he's feeling, he didn't notice or even feel Sandata grabbing his hair and dragging it backwards to expose his throat. With her transformed right dagger arm, she slowly but effectively slit her father's throat making him drop to the ground as he's having a hard time to breath. His blood started to burst out of his wound and spread to the ground. Sandata is just standing there watching his father die without any remorse.

"I will not be satisfied until I find and kill, Thandiwe. He's the reason why all of these happened." Sandata muttered to herself as she got surprised by herself since she noticed that her eyes started to get teary for some reason.

Sandata concluded her recap about how the Roaring Lion has fallen. Knowing the how their people have perished and their entire clan to crumble, Beast was filled with wrath and despair but for some reason he couldn't blame his sister about everything that happened because there's a part of him that believes that it is his fault. While Beast is being in some kind of trance gave an opening for Sandata to attack so she didn't let that chance pass.

"Now that you finally showed up, I can now kill you with my own hands. Prepare to die!" Sandata exclaimed.

Sandata got off from the boulder she was sitting on earlier and immediately ran towards where Beast is standing. However, before she can even stab him by the neck with her transformed blade hand but she stopped even before her hand touched his neck because she noticed that her hand didn't actually transform. She immediately realized that something is off so she jumped backwards to gain distance between her and Beast.

"Enough!" A familiar female voice was heard exclaiming. Then, Sandata suddenly fell to her knee obviously in paid as she holds her head.

After hearing the voice, a great volume of blonde hair came rushing out from the darkness of the woods and grappled Sandata to restrict her movements. Seconds later, familiar faces revealed themselves and headed towards Beast to check on him. They were Reaper, Pandora and Medusa. The three of them arrived at the perfect to save Beast. Reaper nullified Sandata's Anomaly before she can even inflict serious damage to Beast, Pandora constricted her from her murderous thoughts and Medusa restricted her from moving at all.

"I-I see you've c-called for more ba-back up, kaka." Sandata commented as she struggles with her severe headache due to Pandora's attack and by being held by Medusa's hair.

"Beast, are you alright?" Reaper asked.

"That's Thana Ojibwe, right? The one Beast and the others are looking for?" Pandora asked.

"Glass and Surge should be put here too. Where are those two?" Medusa asked.

"Beast, snap out of it!" Reaper exclaimed.

Beast is still in trance caused by despair knowing that really happened to their clan and conflict of him knowing who to blame. He doesn't know who really is to blame between he and his sister or even their parents. He eventually fell to his knees and started bawling without any other care about what's happening to his surroundings. Then, as soon as they thought that it would get any worse, it id. The city alarm went off signifying that an Anomaly has been spotted.

"This isn't good." Medusa commented.

"What do we do now?" Pandora asked.

"We must get out of here." Reaper replied.

"He's right. We must get out of here." Sandata said then chuckled.

"My hair!" Medusa exclaimed dramatically.

Sandata was able to free herself from Medusa's hair. She cut her way out of there because she happened to have compact knives with her which she used to free herself almost with such ease. As soon as she got out from her restrictions, she immediately ran away not before leaving one more menacing grin to Beast and the others. She seemed to be having a hard time withstanding Pandora's Mind Rupture but she was able to make her disappear in the darkness. Though Pandora still senses her, they prioritize them leaving the place and going back to the Hill House.

"I'll be back." Sandata said through Pandora's Anomaly.

"Guys, we must go!" Medusa shrieked. "My beauty can't be capture out here." She said.

"I've connected to Glass and Surge. They must now be within my Anomaly's range." Pandora announced. "Glass, Surge, head straight back to the Hill House and do it fast!" She commanded.

"Pandora?" Glass reacted.

"Pandora!" Surge shrieked in excitement.

"I'll explain later. Just go!" Pandora exclaimed.

"We're on our way!" Glass responded.

"See you later!" Surge added.

"Reaper, lead the way. I'll carry Beast. It will definitely be more damaged but whatever." Medusa said.

"Right. Let's go!" Reaper responded then the three of them rushed back to the Hill House.
