Wind, blowing like a river of whispers across the misty lands. Passing through the tress and caressing their leaves. The moonlight pouring down like drops of light all over the world. Slow heartbeat, loud minds and silent breathing. Everything is calm. A calm before a storm.
"Just a single you is a total pain in the ass. Now with another one, it's absolutely a nightmare", Stephen whispered with a smirk behind Darwin.
"At least I like you better now", He looked at him an gave him a nod.
They both nodded at each other. As if something mutual has been established in between them. They turned to the enemies once again. With their eyes glowing behind a dark fog, making them look astoundingly intimidating like their opponents.
In a heartbeat, a brawl broke off between parties and they exchanged blows and attacks. The enemy somehow outnumbered them but they won't go down easy.
Stephen faced his two versions and Darwin dealt with the other one.
"I somehow envy your absolute strength. But I was more than your eyes will meet", Darwin moved around his version in a lightning speed, giving fatal blows at the same time.
But his version hasn't seem to be affected at all. Instead, he grabbed Darwin by his neck and dug a glowing red orb right into his chest. The thing exploded some organs inside him, making him fall back a few meters vomiting blood with flesh on it.
"Darwin!", Stephen looked at him with worry. He tried rushing to him but his two versions locked him out with their grips. His vampire version is so strong that it even fought him singlehandedly without moving a direction.
"Just go ahead!", Darwin snapped him with a bloody look. His wounds rapidly healed. But his strength is gradually fluctuating due to his current state.
"Weakling!", His versions let out a very bone chilling smile before lunging him in a split second. He grabbed Darwin with his neck and lifted him off the ground. He dug his hands into Darwin's gut and right into his spine. He utterly squeezed his neck and pulled his spine down to rip him into pieces.
Darwin screamed like death at the pain. Stephen looked at him with absolute terror as he struggled with the grip of his other version.
"Let go of me!", His eyes glowed and rings started moving in circles. He flickered above the two of his versions and grabbed them with their temples. He danced into the wind with the lightness of his body and knocked the two of them hard on the rocky ground. His agility gave him the upper hand against the dark one so he focused on taking him down first. He grabbed a tube in his pocket and a whip wiggled right before their eyes. He struck them with lightning in every slash but it did not bothered them at all.
In a middle of the brawl a howl lingered across the land. It's sounded eerie and astonishing at the same time.
Stephen looked at Darwin and was surprised by the smile on his face. He looked back to him and gave him a nod.
"Just in time", He whispered as he gave a knuckle on his version's gut and flickered behind him. He flipped back a few meters and took a step back. Slowly and into the dark corners of the area. Slowly and silently. His version looking at him with fury and hunger.
Two pair of glowing eyes suddenly appeared behind him. One is yellow and the other one is white. He fell deep into the dark with his eyes glowing making it blend with the other two.
Darwin's version shut his eyes and let out a snicker. In a speed of light, he dashed forward towards Darwin but a woman countered him and grabbed his neck. He scratched her arms as she tightened the grip.
"I can easily bite you and let you rot to death", the woman spoke with a furious tone. Her beautiful raging face glowed smoothly in the moonlight. She wore a fur coat and a pair of tights ended with an ankle boots. Her body structure is so beautifully carved and she's only in her 20's. With the color of her eyes and her scent, a vampire can easily identify her as werewolf.
Another person walked out of the dark with Darwin. He's playfully clapping his hands and moving around them with amusement.
This guy wears a black gothic sleeveless leather. His arms covered with tattoos and his red hair brushed back. He has prominent shadowy eyes and a black tinted lips. His jawline is so prominent and perfectly made up. Chains around his neck and arms and he wore a combat boots with metallic details and design. His jeans were ripped off to his knee. His face is in between nasty and innocent, or just wearing an utterly ambiguous and unpredictable expression. He's in his mid 20's.
"Looks like we have a show here", His icy voice broke off.
"Step back idiot or I will rip you instead", The woman gave her a dagger look.
"Relax darling, I'm waiting for a shot", The guy leaned back on a tree behind him and just observed them.
"That's cute", Darwin's version spoke and grabbed the woman's head.
She screamed at the sharp explosion in his brain and let go of him. She fell back with heavy breaths and furious anger.
He then flickered in front of the guy leaning on the tree and dug a red orb inside his chest. The same thing that struck Darwin earlier. But, as the chimera that he is, he already poisoned him unknowingly before and right when he's about to detonate the orb he's already been melted inside.
"Nice move, but I' m a little wiser", The guy licked his ear and tapped his back. He walked away from Darwin's version as if nothing happened.
"Alissandra, Keith, please help the other one. I'll take the rest from here", Darwin gestured them towards Stephen who's having a hard time battling his own versions.
"Ok handsome", The chimera guy named Keith replied with a wink and walked towards Stephen.
"Will you be fine?", Alissandra replied.
"I will, I got you then", Darwin gave her a nod as they parted ways.
Darwin brawled with his version again. This time it turned out so bloody and one sided. His version's strength is worth 5 times of his absolute vampire state. His wounds slowly healing because of the drain in his strength. He looked at the other side and they also had a hard time battling with Stephen's versions even if there's three of them.
"You'll never be a par with me. Not even the slightest", Darwin's version was about to dig his hands into his heart when an odd sensation crumpled them to their knees.
Everyone in the scene went to their knees as a strong intoxicating and gut-wrenching feelings almost drove them to insanity.
"That damn kid again", Keith complained as he crawled back with his knees.
"I'm sorry but you might need this one", A familiar voice roared in the air, Hubert.
"I'll try to drive away the entity that's giving birth to your impossible versions", He added.
"Do you have any other idea? I feel like I'm going mad!", Keith screamed at the heights of Hubert's spell.
"This might feel a little uneasy", Hubert warned them before throwing his hands on both direction.
"Death Preying", He whispered and everyone in the area screamed at the response of their bodies to the spell. As it stir up your physical, emotional, spiritual and psychological aspects until you get to the point of killing yourself.
The versions screamed in agony at Hubert's spell but it didn't do anything at all. They just waited for the spell to wash off then they launched their attacks once again.
"Such a pain", He hissed at them.
Hubert transported Darwin to their allies so he can fight well.
The five of them stood side by side and back to back facing their opponents around them.
"Do you remember facing yourself in the water before any of these?", Hubert asked Darwin.
He just nodded.
"Think about it. You made enemies with yourself because you look straight into the mirror. Don't you think we can make them fight themselves if we force them to look at their selves in the same mirror?", Hubert suggested.
Stephen turned to Hubert with frown and a curious look. He's skeptical with his statement.
"I don't think that'll work", Stephen replied.
"Then we'll give it a try". Hubert leaned down and touched the ground and imbued a spell. The waters started rising and forming a flat mirror around them.
"Close your eyes!", Hubert screamed as he amplified his magic.
He threw his hands forward and the mirrors flipped back into the enemies. He made sure that they faced each other before dropping his spell. He opened his eyes to see another Stephen and Darwin standing along with the rest of the copies.
Darwin wore the same outfit that Stephen had when they first saw each other. With hunting equipments hung in his body parts. His hair is black and his eyes blue.
Stephen on the other hand wore the same outfit thag Darwin had when they first saw each other. With his skin, glowing like a snow and his face calm but deadly at the same time. His eyes crimson in color and his lips looked like it's been dipped with blood. His hair waving smoothly like silver strings in the soft wind caressing his gorgeously stunning face. But unlike his normal vampire version standing a few meters away from him, this version of him is absolute.
To the fact that they're swapped in these versions made Stephen stood as the apex legend known as the Blood Winter.
"Now you've made another copy of us", Stephen playfully tapped his shoulder and mocked him.
Hubert's jaw dropped open at the sight of another ill looking "Dadas" in front of them. He even grabbed Darwin's coat and gave him a bobbed face asking for apologies.
"Now with the three of your versions. It's truly an apocalypse", Darwin looked straight at Stephen with pure disbelief.
"I could probably say the same", Stephen just gave him a smile and brushed his hair.
"But nothing beats the original", Hubert interrupted.
"And the Triangle that generations feared", Alissandra added behind them. She gave an arm on both stephen and Keith and playfully embraced them with a hug.
"Oh on, I hate this", Keith tried pulling himself off but Lisa's grip is just so tight.
They returned to their battle stances once again. These time face to face with opponent at the same time. Keith with the dark Stephen. Lisa with the vampire Stephen. Darwin with his hybrid self and Stephen with the Black Pentagram Darwin while Hubert with the Blood Winter Stephen. They engaged in a brawl again when Keith pulled back.
"Kee! What the hell!", Lisa grabbed his opponents with of her hands. Since Keith pulled back, it made Lisa handle his foe with herself.
"I'm just annoyed with this lullaby. It's been ringing my mind since I step foot in this place", Keith threw his hands to explain.
"What lullaby? We don't hear a thing?", Lisa replied in between exchange of attacks and blows.
"This song...I mean this humming sound...", Keith gestured to his ears.
Tired of explaining, he scratched his face and shifted into his beast form. His body towered like a bull and his head turned into a lion's head with goat's horn rolling on both sides. Bat wings started pulling out of his back and his scorpion tail twinned with a snake protruded behind him. He let out a gargling roar as he leaped and followed the origin of the sound.
"What the hell is that thing?", Stephen asked in between dodging attacks from the Black Pentagram Darwin.
"Cross breeds! Nasty creatures!", Hubert replied with a hiss at the Blood Winter Stephen's attacks. It brought an alley of memories to him somehow, only it is a different person.
A moments passed and the battles suddenly halted. Both parties pulled back in exhaustion. Darwin bathe with his own blood and Stephen covered with bruises and burns. Lisa hissed at the scratches and bite marks all over her body and Hubert went on his knees at the drop of his energy.
"It feels like fighting an endless battle", Lisa complained.
"As what I'd observed, they are moving in a sequential manner. They look straight into our eyes and lure us into something before they launch an attack. It's like reading a manual book the executing the actions. They are anticipating our every move", Hubert explained.
"Conclusion?", Darwin questioned.
"They are being controlled by someone behind the scenes. They only served as a catalyst of an assault", Hubert replied him.
"Keith told me about this sound that keeps on bothering him ever since he stepped foot in this area. It must have something to do with these creatures", Lisa suggested in between gasps.
"That's it. The sound might be driving these creatures in action", Stephen concluded.
"Or not...", Hubert interrupted. Darwin cut him off.
"The sounds silently penetrated deep into our minds and controlled our fears. The moment we accidentally took a peek our ourselves in the water we definitely divided ourselves in versions. Versions of something that we feared to happen. Like turning into a vampire. Or something that we might could have been like becoming the beacons of light. That, according to the state of your mind and the origin of your life. It's taking control of our fear and embodying it with versions of what possibly we might or might not be depending on the instances we may had or will encounter with our life", Darwin finally figured out the culprit.
"Stephen is a man. Darwin is man", Hubert tried calculating the situations with his hands.
"These things had been luring men since the ancient times", Darwin added nonchalantly.
"Damn. Sirens", Hubert put his hands and down and grabbed his temples in frustration.
