"Maaaan, that took ages," I said, walking down the endless flight of stairs. "I feel like an old woman now."
"The meeting didn't go on for that long," Ray chuckled. "You just have to remember that it's important for us to listen to everything they have to say."
"They could've just written everything on paper for us to take back. Seriously…"
We had finished delivering the message to the council and we're heading back to the underworld after having to sit through a terribly boring meeting.
Though, I guess having Ray with me didn't make it too bad…
"Hmm? Hey Dusk, what's with the blush?" Ray asked me.
"I-It's nothing! It was just a little hot in there that's all!"
I can never tell him. Even if centuries were to pass, the guilt would torture me for eternity. And I just can't risk hurting or making him mad.
"I hope that Kuro was able to find Hiro and the others," Ray said. "Who knows how much time we have left."
"I know," I said. "The fact that Kuro kept the Ten Commandments distracted with something else in order to buy some time is quite a risky gamble. We might have a few days left at most, so let's just hope the wedding goes smoothly."
"It's crazy though. Do you really think that Hiro is the first created human?"
"There's a lot of things that I don't know about him, but the same probably goes for him as well. No matter what happens, I trust him. Now come on Ray. Let's not keep them waiting."
