When the bright beam of light dimmed down, I opened my eyes to find myself back in the palace. The bright, overwhelming colors shined across the room that I stood in. The row of old looking paintings were in the same place from the last time I was here. The bed with the golden curtains was also in the same place.
I walked over to the bed to see if Gleam was sleeping in their again. I remembered the warning that Xylvia gave me the last, so I braced myself for what I was about to see. I should be fine though. I mean I've already seen Gleam naked before, so it shouldn't be that big a deal.
I grabbed the golden curtains and slowly drew them back. I had my eyes closed when I was pulling the curtain because I was trying to picture Gleam's naked body in my head in case if I get stunned again. When I had the image in my head I opened my eyes, but Gleam wasn't the one who was sleeping in the bed.
The girl on the bed had cat-like ears and a tail colored yellow with slick, black stripes. She had a petite figure and a cute little fang sticking out from the bottom of her lip. Xylvia.
She was wearing a nightgown that was not doing a good job on covering her modest breasts. I tried to avert my eyes, but it was like I was being hypnotized by her body. I know that it's rude and creepy for me to be staring at someone sleeping like I was, but seeing her like this was strangely relaxing. Seeing her in this kind of state made her look even cuter than she already was.
I suddenly started to feel my heart race. This feeling wasn't like anything that I've ever felt before.
"She is quite a beautiful sight isn't she?"
I knew that voice. I turned around to face a naked woman. The same woman who summoned me here from my world. Gleam.
"Uhh...I guess..." I said stuttering to find the right words.
"Saying goodbye to your parents must've been a lot harder than you thought it would be," Gleam said. "The fun that you had with your parents a few moments ago proves my point."
She was right. I felt like I was going to break down into a complete mess.
"Am I a bad person for wanting to leave my world?" I asked.
"I wouldn't call you a bad person." Gleam said.
"But what I just did was pretty selfish on my part."
"Yes, that may be true, but you had a very good reason for it. You were miserable in your world and you wanted a restart, so I gave you that chance at a restart. Besides, your parents said to live your life your way."
She was right again. My parents did say to live my life the way I want to, and I'm finally getting that chance. It would be foolish for me to blow this one chance that I have.
"Ok, you're right," I said. "I'm going to do my best in this new life!"
"Excellent," Gleam said clapping her hands. "Now it's time for your orientation." Come now, follow me."
Orientation?
Gleam and I walked to the huge paintings that were hanging on the walls. When I got a better look, I could see a naked woman in the first painting with her hands hugging her body while she was floating in light.
"Is that you?" I asked Gleam.
"Sure is," she said. "Ahhhhh...that always brings back memories."
"Are these paintings about this world's history?"
"DING! You're right again Hiro."
The second painting was of Gleam with her arms open and a world shown in between her arms. The third painting was her with a magic circle above her hand and a man standing in front of her with a shocked expression. The fourth painting was of an army of what looked like skeleton warriors, goblins, demons, and angels. The fifth painting was of a muscular man with golden armor and he held a long, shiny sword. The sixth painting was of an army with bright light hovering around them charging an army with darkness hovering around them. The seventh painting was of a dark, demonic being with flaming black wings and blood red horns. The eighth and final painting was of a man surrounded by half naked girls.
"These paintings can be pretty self-explanatory," Gleam said. "As you can see in the second painting, that is me creating this beautiful world full of wonder, adventure, and excitement."
Gleam was acting like she was in a play as she told me the history of this world.
"The third painting is of me doing my first summoning over ten thousand years ago," Gleam said. "I summoned someone who despised their world and wanted a restart, just like you."
Her first summon was done on someone just like me?
"The fourth painting is of the Dark Army, an army of vile, disgusting creatures that do indescribable things to their victims."
Hearing that send chills down my spine. I should be careful and try to stay far away from those guys.
"When word of that army spread, I began working on how to summon someone who is strong an courageous enough to fight against the Dark Army. I finally found someone with that ability, and thus I was able to summon a hero."
"I'm guessing that these heroes lead your Army of Light." I said.
"Correct," Gleam said walking over to the next painting. "I'm assuming that the sixth painting is probably easy enough for you to figure out."
"The Army of Light against the Army of Darkness." I said.
"Yes," Gleam said. "Oh, and the seventh painting is of my first breeding horse summoning."
"I didn't need to hear that." I said.
The history of this world sounds so simple yet so complex. It's overwhelming, but overwhelming in a good way.
"Hey Gleam, can I ask you a question before I go?" I asked.
"Sure, what is it?"
"What happens to the last hero when a new one is summoned?"
Gleam's expression turned a little grim when I asked that. This must've been serious.
"Most heroes die within a few days when they step on the battlefield." she said.
"Wait, what," I said. "How the hell does that happen?"
"When most heroes are summoned, they get too cocky because they treat the situation like it's a game. They act like they're invulnerable to anything. However, the minute they step on that battlefield, reality beging to break through their cocky attitude. They then lose their composure and start to even forget who they are and why their here; once their down, they get consumed by darkness and become corrupted by it."
"That sounds horrible." I said.
"I just wish that the heroes would take their roles more seriously." Gleam said.
"So do you have a current hero on the battlefield right now?" I asked.
"We actually do," Gleam said. "However, ten years of fighting will eventually take it's toll."
"I hope that he and the Army of Light win the war soon," I said. "Can't have this war getting in the way of my goals."
"Me to," Gleam said with a concerned look. " 'Ahem', anyways, what are you still doing here? Don't you have adventures to go on?!"
"You bet your ass I do," I said with a smirk. "Look out world! Hiro is coming!!
"Oh hey, Hiro. Do you mind taking her with you to?"
Gleam pointed to Xylvia who was still sleeping on the bed in the middle of the room.
"Does she have somewhere to go?" I asked.
"Oh, apparently she's finds you 'interesting'." Gleam said.
There was something suspicious with the way she said "interesting."
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"She told me that she has never met someone who wanted to spend his life going on adventures. She actually found that a little exciting and was going to ask you if she could join you, so I guess she fell asleep while waiting for you."
She wants to go with me on my adventure?
"I think it's because she's never really gotten to know anyone interesting before." Gleam said.
"Am I really that interesting?"
"Well Xylvia thinks you are. This is the first time that she's ever met someone who has the same interest as her."
She likes adventures to? Also, I know that Gleam is a goddess, but how does she seem like she knows more about Xylvia then anyine else?
"How exactly do you know Xylvia so well?" I asked.
"Well, that's something that you'll have to ask her for yourself," Gleam said. "Now go out and
have your adventure Hiro. Time is a wasting."
I still had some questions that I wanted to ask her, but something was telling me that I already asked enough questions. I walked over to Xylvia, who was still sleeping, and picked her up like a prince sweeping the princess off of her feet. I then started to walk out the doors of the palace, and to the new world that was just waiting to be explored.
"Hey Hiro, I almost forgot!"
I turned around to see Gleam running after me with something in her hand.
"This is called a Character Orb," Gleam said holding the small, light blue orb. "This orb allows you to see your stats as a person. Just hold it on your right hand, say your full name, then say register."
Gleam aced the orb on my right hand then ran off back to wherever she came from. I looked at the small orb. Of course there had to be stats. It's as if it's become the golden rule when being in another orb. I let out a long sigh, then clutched my right hand into a fist so that I wouldn't accidentally drop it.
"Hiro Satomi," I said in a loud and clear voice. "Register!"
After a few seconds, my hand started to glow. Then it started to feel like something was going inside it. It stung a little, but it wasn't too bad.
When the glow faded away, I opened my hand to see nothing on it. Was the orb inside my hand or something?
"H-Hiro...?"
I looked down to see Xylvia waking up. I was still holding her in my arms, so she was a little startled. She didn't seem to really mind though.
"I haven't been held like this since my mom..." she paused.
It didn't take me a second to realize what she was thinking about.
"It's ok," I said to her. "You don't have to tell me if you don't want to."
I could see a tear begin to form out of the corner of her eye, but she held back the tears and smiled.
"Ok."
"By the way, you can come with me if you want to." I said
"Where?" she asked.
"To my adventure of course." I said laughing a little.
"D-Do you really mean it?"
"Of course I do. I'll get pretty lonely being all by myself. Besides, you look like you need some fun in your life."
"You seem confident."
"Well, that's all I can really be right now. If I wasn't confident in my decision, than why am I making that decision in the first place?"
"You have me there."
Xylvia let out a cute little yawn, her tail stretching upwards along with her arms. Her back was arched slightly back and she shivered a little from her sudden tiredness. I felt a small blush creeping up my face.
"I'd say that our first adventure should be to a place to spend the night," Xylvia said. "I'm getting really tired."

"Yeah, me to. I'm beat."
"Did you say your good-byes?"
"Yeah."
"Do you regret it?"
"No. If anything, I'm really happy."
"Why's that?"
"If they had said no, I would've left regardless and had no regrets, but them telling me that it was ok made me so happy. I hope I can meet them again one day and tell them my future stories."
As we walked down the grassy road of bright colors and busy buildings, I gently closed my eyes and smiled as I whispered my thanks.
"Thank you mom. Thank you dad. I love you both so much." I whispered.
"I noticed Xylvia's ears twitching along with a tiny smile on her face.
Heh, guess she heard me. Also, I'm curious about her story. What sort of life did she live? Well, I have no reason to ask that right now. For now, I'll try to get to know her other aspects better. She seems like a fun, energetic girl, so I think I'll be having quite a lot of fun during these adventures.
