Chapter 2 - Exciting Mondays

Just before the sun went up, the maids were already preparing for the day. Sweeping the floor, replacing the burnt-out candles, refilling the gas lanterns and, starting to prepare the De Leon family's breakfast when they heard a cry for help.

Martha got out of her room holding onto her belly, pale white, her beautiful face twisted in an expression crying for help. Her husband was nowhere to be found, he was probably still sleeping in a chair in his study.

"JAACOOOOOB!!!" Martha shrieked trying to get her husband to pop into existence.

"Mistress! let me help you up," she said dropping her broom, running up to her. A young maid, sweeping the corridor by the couple's room ran to her side trying to support her. But her small frame was providing little to no help.

"WHERE IS JACOB!?!" Martha roared once more frightening the young maid.

"I-i-i I think he's still asleep," she said earning a glare from her Mistress, the lion was up and it would eat her whole. "I'll go wake the Master up" she added leaving her mistress to sit by a chair while running to Jacob's study.

When she got to the room while reaching for the door, it opened, revealing a woman, with hair as white as snow, skin even smoother than hers, with a pointed nose, small lips, and a well-defined jaw, she was beautiful, she couldn't stop herself from admiring her beauty, even her pointy ears which were poking out of her hair could not ruin the display.

"Hello there Millie, where is the mistress?" the white-haired woman asked. Millie was awed by how she kept her cool even with the commotion happening, they were going to have their 3rd young master or mistress!

The estate's Head Maid already having an inkling of what was happening came out of the study with Jacob in tow, who was still rubbing his eyes, he was still trying to get out of the sandman's grasp.

Having been with the family for about 20 years, she's been privy to the habits of his Master. And already knew where to find him when the Lady's cries first rang out.

Millie pointed to the place where she left the Lady of the house when--

"JAAAACOOOOOBBB!! WHERE THE HELL ARE YOUUU!!!"

Another shriek sounded out through the estate waking Jacob up from his drowsiness.

"I've already sent one of the guards to get the doctor, they should be back soon, Millie, why don't you lead Master Jacob to where Lady Martha is." the Head Maid smiled coolly.

"Ye-yes, Miss Sherry!" the maid Millie quickly bowed and led Jacob quickly to where she left Martha.

Jacob hurriedly followed the little maid, Millie, to where her wife is before looking back at Sherry and did a slight bow. The Head Maid has been with him for almost 20 years; she was practically his second mother, as when his parents died when he was young he had nothing but his name, the leftover riches his father left him, and the house he currently lived in.

Sherry raised him since he was 10 years old, teaching him etiquette and managing the house's finances, she had gone above and beyond in keeping the house in running order, doing her best to keep its noble name from going under.

Looking at Jacob scurrying away, the white-haired woman smiled, she couldn't help but wonder if their new little angel would be a girl or a boy.

2 hours into labor the doctor was looking troubled "Martha, your baby isn't coming out no matter how much you push."

"I can do it, Clay was exactly like this, took a long time but I got through it" Martha wasn't giving up.

*uwaaaa* *uwaaaaa*

Jacob was standing outside the room pacing back and forth, trying to calm himself when he heard the cries coming from inside, he froze for a second before rushing into the room. "Are my angels alright?" he said, trying to find out what he was looking at.

Martha looked at her husband sweating and smiled warmly. "We are alright dear, and we got a boy, look at him," she showed off her newest son to her husband.

Jacob's eyes widened looking at the baby, he was quite big, he estimated him to be about 9-10 pounds. He had his black hair, but when he looked at his eyes he froze, the little guy had different colored eyes, blue on the right which almost looked purple with how deep the color it was, and red on the left which was as red as a rose.

The doctor by Martha's side walked to the side and chimed in. "You got a healthy baby boy, Mister De Leon, he's the biggest baby I have ever seen almost 10 pounds if I could guess it right."

"No wonder I was having trouble moving around," Martha said tiredly, 2 almost 3 hours of labor had sapped her of her strength, and it was still considered morning!

"I guess this means I can't leave today, what are we gonna name him Dear?" Jacob asked, relieved that he doesn't have to meet his father-in-law.

Martha thought for a moment, they had a lot of names prepared but seeing as those won't really fit a big baby like him, she remembered her husband had made his own list of names if they got a baby boy, She fished it out of her memory and picked one.

"Curtis" Martha decided. "We'll name him Curtis, Ok Dear?"

"Sounds great" Jacob smiled, moving in to hold his newborn son.

Jacob looked at his wife thinking "I got a son; hopefully, he'll have an interest in the business. Now how do I make sure he gets that from me? Hmmmmm. Guess it'll have to wait. At least I won't need to go to the Capital today. I already ran out of excuses to go to the capital."

"What's with that look dear?" Martha asked, Jacob was looking at her son with a strange look.

"Nothing dear." Jacob smiled leaning in to kiss his wife. "Now rest, you got to recover your strength."

"All right, you go call Sherry and let her take care of the baby's needs, I can't stand you looking at him with that funny look on your face."

Jacob walked towards the door, noticing it was open, he already guessed there were a few curious buggers looking in from the outside, with 2 pairs of eyes the height of his waist looking through.

He smiled, "Hey kids, take a look at your baby brother." as he kneeled to let the kids have a look at their new family member.

Elise is tongue-tied, not knowing what to say, learning that the sister she hoped for is now a brother.

"Ha! I win Elise, with two of us now, you can't bully us!" Clay exclaimed happy to get a brother. They now had the numbers advantage.

"But I don't bully you?" Elise denied with wide eyes showing off her beautiful blue eyes. She quickly peeked at her little brother, while his big brother was off pumping his chest. "He's so big, and he's sleeping already, awww," Elise said sadly, obviously wanting to play with her new brother.

"He must have been tired." Jacob smiled, "I'll be taking him to Sherry, you guys run over and let her know I'm coming to meet her."

"Sure Dad," they both said, running down the hallway towards the baby room they recently finished which was where Sherry was.

Jacob walked out of the room, giving one last look at his wife before turning and walking down the hallway. Recalling a distant memory of his father talking to him, it was coincidentally was the last time he saw him. "You know son our blood is special, our family has been in existence since the start of the world, the day when different colored eyes appear again in the world, a big change will happen."

Jacob stopped and looked at his son. "No way, right?"
