Chapter 1 - 01 A beast

"This semester, the top one is—" Their middle-aged teacher paused, trying to build up suspense.

The students reacted accordingly. Some boys glanced at Danna who was most likely to be the top student from their class. Girls, on the other hand, are lamenting over the fact that they can't snatch that title away.

It did hold more importance for the ladies.

"Morgana!" He tried to sound cheerful hoping to hype all the other students but no one in the room reacted positively. Most were flabbergasted and the whole room was suddenly quiet.

Danna was the most stunned out of everybody.

Everyone started leaning closer to each other, gossiping in low voices. After a while, someone couldn't take it anymore and finally raised her hand.

Not even waiting for the teacher to allow her to talk, she stood up abruptly, "Are you sure that freak is the highest?" she questioned. It was Samatha who suddenly bursts out, almost forgetting the manners taught by the school.

A brunette girl slammed her table then stood up next. She didn't even bother asking for permission to talk. "Teacher! Why? She's never here and she's either absent or cutting classes!"

A fact that everyone knew, Morgana's shadow was rarely seen inside their room that's why no one would have guessed that she would be the best student among them.

The teacher didn't seem bothered by the haste reactions. All students were anticipating his answer but he only removed his glasses and fished a handkerchief from his pocket.

He needed a new pair of glasses. If only these rich teenagers weren't hard to handle, he would have been able to get a new one long ago.

Heaving a long sigh before putting back his glasses, he glanced at the students. "Her GPA was a flat 5.00 with the highest raw score in the batch," he said. "Exactly 99."

Amazed with the aloof girl, he subconsciously talked with a small smile, a thing that was rarely seen on Mr. Lee's strict face.

"She could have gotten 100. but she did not answer a certain amount of easy questions during exams to get exactly 99 in each subject."

These lines added more fuel to the girl's growing spite against Morgana.

Who knew that the girl who's presence feels almost like air would steal their precious award?

For them, she seemed like an arrogant show-off.

Good thing, she's absent today too, if not, she might have been already butchered alive.

Danna gritted her teeth as her knuckles started to get white from too much pressure. After all, she was the most affected in this matter. She's been consistently the top one in their batch eversince.

Morgana was really pushing the limits of her patience. Showing off when she just recently transferred?

How she wished to cut off that unsightly bangs that extended past her eyes! So informal. Someone like her wasn't suited in her academy.

Having a worldwide known celebrity as a mother and a politician as a father, how can she let Morgana Deveraux tamper her reputation by letting her study at the same school? Morgana's lack of etiquette was very obvious.

Everyone was thinking why the school let that egocentric rude woman in. She doesn't fit in. She won't fit in. She'll never fit in.

Noblesse Academy had a reputation of being fair, neat, disciplined, and outstanding but they had a girl who always broke the rules by cutting classes as a student. Not to mention she never wore her uniform properly!

Theavarian's empire school for elites is where most children of the ones on the top of the hierarchy gather to establish connections with each other. A lot of parents are even willing to send their kids to the Theavarian Empire despite the distance. That's how strong their reputation is.

It has the most advanced technology and equipment. Even the four reigning emperors, Logan Daxon Ruwedor Fergus, Grayson Rowan, Dominick Feng, and Hannibal Devyn were graduates from this famous Noblesse Academy.

But despite these facts, Morgana Deveraux's interest remained to constantly wane day by day. She slept the whole period but no teachers reprimanded her bad conduct.

Well, what can the teachers do?

Morgana exceeded their expectations in all aspects. May it be in academics, all types of arts, and even sports. It seemed like her credentials listed from her past school was true.

Morgana was indeed a prodigy and she can even be compared to the crown prince, Aiden Trevor Fergus, in terms of brilliance.

Even though she rarely attended any event, anyone will know the outcome if she stepped a foot in.

She's the infamous Morgana whom no one in the whole school knew yet was able to snatch the award for artists by painting a masterpiece entitled, "Lost Soul"

Knowing these facts, the students still didn't stop inquiring more.

Another lady although remained seated, spoke her thoughts, "But teacher! It's so unfair," she said, "Morgana only transferred this second semester. Why did she get the award for this year?"

Patricia Martin had a frown on her face, her high-pitched voice did not even hide its dissatisfaction. Her standing in class is the next highest to Danna.

Although most of the girls knew that they had a low chance of being a top student because of Danna, it didn't mean they'd accept Morgana getting it.

Moreover, they can't let that transferee get the benefit from becoming the highest in the second year's star section. The benefit of having Aiden Fergus, the crown prince, as their research partner, that's the goal many are aiming.

This way, they could spend more time with the future emperor and help him.

And who knows? Maybe they will become the next empress…

The bald teacher coughed a little, clearing his throat to get the attention of the whole class.

"In a span of three weeks, Morgana perfected all those exams from the past semester."

Everyone's jaw dropped.

What took them 5 months to learn, Morgana Devareaux finished in three weeks…

She's truly a beast, both in appearance and in intelligence.
