Glancing at the necklace, Nora shivered. The necklace standing on the pedestal stood out like the moon at night.
"I'm going to have to take that aren't I?" she asked, rhetorically to herself.
Nervously grasping the necklace Nora suddenly felt a warm sensation. The coldness that was all around her a minute ago dissipated into nothing. The room fell into a state of emptiness.
The room felt empty now, the coldness seemed to occupy the cave room. After grabbing all the items that Nora thought would be useful. Which included some books coins and other miscellaneous items With her bag full she left the room. The forest brought back the warmth and vividness she was used to.
The path became an old sight, the vividness of the forest became routine, and the warmth became a nuisance. The redundancy of the environment drove Nora out of her mind. Suddenly, Nora spotted something out of the ordinary.
An open field coated in the golden color of wheat. Once she saw this, her eyes widened. After the initial excitement of the wheat, she began to get nervous. Thoughts started to shot through her head. What is in this dream? Was there cat people? Demi-humans? What were the people like? Would people be friendly or be hostile towards him? And lastly, is this going to be a town or just a rural farm.
The house seemed to come from the late 1850s it looked like this world wasn't so far behind has hers. "Wait, what?" she puzzlingly stuttered, "Is that light coming from a light bulb?" she scratched her head "would farmers have the money to afford electricity bills and light bulbs? Weren't they just invented in the 1870s?"
At this time, the sun was fading and the moon was rising. It was definitely growing late. Nora observed that the house was occupied as a few people were walking in and out of the front door. Thinking about whether she should hide for the night or walk up, Nora decided to suck it up and walked up to the door.
The first person to notice her was a young girl who seemed to be around the age of 17. She stopped what she was doing and in an authoritative voice, commanded "who are you, and what do you want, stranger?"
"Ummm Nora, and I came from west-northwest," Nora responded. "What do you want, Nora of West-northwest?" the woman demanded. "Well, I need a place to stay, if you had room and ability to house me, it would help so much," Nora said. "I shall ask my father." she quickly spun around and entered the door and slammed it closed.
After a couple of minutes, she came back outside, giving a signal to come inside. Nora presumed the man standing in front of her was the woman's father. He was at least 6' 3" tall with broad shoulders, a sharp chin, and muscles that could make any regular gym-goer feel incompetent. "Before we allow you to stay here, I would like to ask you some questions," he said. Nora, in response, said, "yes I would no doubt you do, but in return, could I ask you some of my own questions? I would like to know the area we are in currently." He nodded, and they sat down in what looked like the living room and began to talk.
