Kira Shine and a boy walked together to and back from school. The boy was named Harry King. Harry was a nice kid. Usually got straight B's, and was generally a kind guy. He wasn't very popular nor was he considered a punk or a bully. Just average. But Kira knew him since elementary school. They lived as neighbors and eventually Kira began to have feelings for him. However, she didn't know whether he had any feelings for her, so she never tried to make the first move in fear of rejection. However, Kira always stayed by his side, no matter what. She tends to be shy and was only able to get out of shell a little after meeting Nina and Anne. After becoming a Light Guardian. A hero that protects the weak from monsters. She became more confident in herself. But she was never shy around Harry. She was always able to talk when she was around him.
"Hey, Kira, want to hang out at the book store, today? They're going to release the next part of 'The Dragon's Sunset' book today, and I want to get a copy."
"Sure. We can do that afterschool," Kira replied happily. She didn't care what they did, as long as she was with him.
They walked happily along the sidewalks to school without any worry. However, as she became a Light Guardian, she would occasionally sense a monster and have to go after it. She would usually give an excuse like "Sorry, I forgot something", "My bad. I need to go pick up something from the supermarket" or something along those lines. But Harry was understanding. He believed whatever excuse that Kira gave even though she wasn't a very good liar.
But today was different. She wasn't sensing any Night Demons, and so her pleasant walk was uninterrupted. It was a beautiful day, but the forecast said it was going to rain, later, so she brought an umbrella, just in case.
