Chapter 4 - The Road to Self-Discovery

Very well, if that is true then what I always feared have happened. You have awakened an ability. Haven't you?"

Shaheer's thought process were not like any other normal student as he had already guessed that something like this could happen. There was no need to hide it as he had come here to learn more about the abilities he had stumbled upon.

"Why do you think I've come here?" Shaheer said with a carefree expression, as if he was expecting this question all along.

"I see, so you have trusted us enough to come seek help," the old man said with a grin hidden behind his stern expression.

"No one said I trusted you. I just trusted that someone with the power to seal the potential of the last descendant of the red dragon would know a thing or two about what is happening to me," Shaheer replied confidently.

The old man was taken aback by Shaheer's revelation. It was clear that he had not expected Shaheer to know this information.

Shaheer had pieced together the clues and his instincts told him that the individual holding the power to seal the potential of others must be incredibly powerful. With the question marks surrounding the old man's level of power, Shaheer had no doubt that he was the one he needed to speak to.

"How did you know that? Remember, your words could be your last, so speak truthfully," the old man warned, but this time the pressure he created was not as intense as before. It felt as though there was no air to breathe under that pressure.

Shaheer, however, still had a carefree expression. Even though this was the first time he had felt this kind of overbearing pressure, he knew the old man was still holding back.

"Why? Was it supposed to be a secret? Leader of the green snake?" Shaheer asked, purposely emphasizing the word 'leader' without showing any signs of discomfort.

The old man was once again surprised. He stopped emitting his aura and gestured for Shaheer to follow him as he turned and walked towards the large mansion. Shaheer knew that the old man did not hold any ill intentions towards him as if he did, he would not even know how he died as the strength of the two were vastly different. So, Shaheer followed him.

They entered a room where Shaheer felt like breaking a paper-thin wall and the notification came running once again.

Ding! You have entered a [silent territory] Ding! You are being restricted to speak Ding! Due to your level being too low the restriction can't be lifted. Ding! You are being forced to telepath. Ding! Due to your level being too low the force can't be lifted.

Shaheer looked at the old man as the old man's voice could be heard inside his head.

No need to worry, you can't speak but your thoughts can reach mine. This is a security measure, so I hope you understand," the old man explained telepathically.

Shaheer understood but was still amazed that there were things like this. Having lived his life with the concept of physics ingrained in his mind like a normal person, he couldn't control his amazement as these types of things could only be considered fantasy in science. But now, it was in front of him.

As Shaheer sat down and waited calmly for the old man to start explaining, his mind raced with questions and possibilities. He knew that the old man held the key to understanding his newfound abilities, and he was determined to get to the bottom of it.

The old man began to speak, his voice low and measured. "I know you're eager for answers, Shaheer. You already know a lot more than you should know, so I can guess you've awakened some kind of informative ability."

Shaheer stayed silent, not wanting to correct the old man's assumption. He knew that he had to be careful with the information he revealed, as it could be used against him. Instead, he focused on trying to guess the old man's possible explanations for his abilities, a habit he had developed to think ahead and prepare for any scenario or possibility.

As the old man continued to speak, Shaheer listened attentively, piecing together the information he was given and trying to make sense of it all. He knew that the answers he sought were just within reach, and he was determined to uncover the truth behind his abilities and his place in this world.
