Chapter 5 - The First Visit

A young girl, around the age of two to three years old, loudly yawns. She is in her home, sitting on the family couch in the livingroom. She is feeling quite tired,so she decides to lay down on the couch and quickly falls into a deep sleep.

Somehow, while she was asleep, she was transported to another world, a world where humans are feared, hated, and often treated as food or slaves.

In this world, humans were looked down upon, and often reviled and viewed with extreme disgust. Humans who existed here had to go into hiding, so that they would not be killed or captured. It was much better to be killed then to be captured and enslaved, for many humans were often slowly tortured to death... the torture sometimes lasting several years  for those who were very unlucky. The luckier ones tended to be eaten... sometimes while they were still alive. So it was extremely rare to see a wild human... a free human.

But this small child had no knowledge of such things. All she knew as she looked around her that things seemed different and scary.

As she walked along the streets, the beings nearby stared at her. The young girl was frightened, for the people around her did not look like herself or her family... because none of them were human. They varied in different shapes, colors, and height. Colors considered unnatural for human skin, hair, nail, and eye color seemed common among them. Red, yellow, black, turquoise, gray, pink, green, purple, blue, black... skinny, fat, muscular, tall, short... they were all of these colors, sizes, shapes and more. But though there were many humanoid beings, there were no humans... and none of the nonhumans looked friendly towards the young girl. Many gave her hostile looks, which made the child even more frightened. Their ferocious expressions and fearsome faces terrified her, as some flashed their gleaming sharp teeth at her with some hissing, snarling, and growling at her.

Then the child saw a floating ball of light. Entranced, she begin to follow it as it floated along. It looked so beautiful to her... so gentle and calm. For a second, she almost felt safe. As she followed the shining globe for a few more moments, the ball of light suddenly turned into a dark alley.

The young girl followed the floating light into the dark alley, not knowing that it was never safe to enter dark alleyways alone, for one never knew who or what could be hiding within.
