"Milady please hurry!"
Hm…? 'Milady'? Since when did these barbarians call her that of all things in any tone other than mockery? Opening her eyes and looking around her confusion grew when she saw sunlight and greenery but the confusion cleared a little when she looked down to see small hands and well made dress made with expensive silk. An inward sigh escaped as she thought sadly, 'Ah… a dream I should have known.' The now small child stood from the chaise she was laying on and was saddened when she felt nothing even though the sun was clearly shining on her pale skin, 'Guess I have forgotten what sunlight feels like…' and when she saw the anxious face of the maid who had called her she offered a small smile, "I'm coming!" and ran up to the maid in her bare feet and was pleased to find out that she hadn't forgotten the feeling of grass beneath her bare feet.
Looking around she couldn't quite place when this memory was from, she knew it was her childhood before the annihilation of her kingdom and as a result her capture, but she could not place when this was. Looking to the maid who was walking awfully fast for a child to keep up with she panted while asking, "What is your hurry, what am I late to this time?"
The maid paused and looked at her with a mild look of disdain, "Well at least you are wise enough to acknowledge you are late even if you are not wise enough to manage your own time."
Brows furrowing Keisei let out a sigh of frustration, "I'm a child what do you expect of me!? Now tell me why are we in such a rush?" Keisei had always marveled how she could fall out of sync with her own memories so quickly, truly it was a talent, but she didn't like how her subordinate was acting towards her… or at least she thought the maid was her subordinate not having a clear recognition of your own memory was a pain.
The maid stopped and glared at her and said with a sneer, "It's a miracle that the royal family spawned you, you are late to getting ready for his Highness' birthday ball where he shall choose his future crown princess and the next priestess shall be announced. Now come along before you are late to the ball itself!"
Keisei visibly paled, so apparently after being nearly killed in the arena she has to relive the day her world was shattered to pieces and she was thrown into this hell. Keisei didn't have it in her to further argue with the maid as she realized that the maid worked for her older brother not her so there was no point. Going through the annoying process of being bathed and anointed, she could not help but lament how her life would have been so different had she not been chosen to be the next high priestess instead of her older sister. To this day she knew she was more suited in temperament, intelligence, the amount of mana she held, and being able to see a trap when she saw one and not falling into it… her sister wanted to be high priestess for the power and prestige she did not give a damn about the Goddess she was supposed to serve she just wanted the position that would put her second only to the King and Queen. Keisei wanted to be a priestess period, hogh or otherwise because the Goddess had whispered to her and encouraged her and protected her in times of need, status had nothing to do with her desire to serve. As the Maids finished up her hair and makeup she now knew she was 18, for whatever reason she developed very slowly up to this point so she still looked like a child without proper hair and makeup. Looking into the mirror the memory of her current and old self over lapped showing the multitude of scars she earned in the arena and she had to shake her head for her to stabilize once more.
Taking in a breath and letting it out she was curious as to why she hadn't woken up yet, did Berric hit her that hard? Or was her brain punishing her for some reason, she had no idea. Managing to get the preparations done she had time to inspect her attire, the white and sky blue dress that was very close to a ceremonial priestess robe looked just as stunning as she remembered making even her childish figure look feminine and alluring. Her hair was part up and down with pearls and white crystals… possibly diamonds braided throughout, she truly looked like a princess, and to bad she already knew the outcome of the night. When the maids impatiently called for her and started bossing her around she wanted to smack them upside the head to remind them who was the boss here but back then she had timid personality and often let people walk all over her so they would get bored and leave her alone.
As the night progressed it was just as she remembered and she eventually let herself sync with the memory dancing and drinking to her heart's content until the announcements came and just like last time her sister stormed out of the hall when she was announced to be the next high priestess rather than her. She never understood the deep hated people harbor towards one another over decisions they had no control over. Sighing Keisei worked through the night and once she was finally in bed once more she heard the loud rumble of the explosion that signaled the start of the invasion her sister incited and her unfortunate dissension what she considered to be the abyss.
It was at that moment that her eyes opened and she lightly touched her head when a persistent ringing made her head throb and ache. Blowing out a breath she sighed softly, "Just how hard did he hit me to make me experience THAT?"
