Chapter 8 - Introductions

Once the princess was pulled within the ring of wards the tent appeared and she furrowed her brows in confusion and gave Keisei a dubious look, "How are we supposed to do any of what you suggested in a double canvas tent?"

Keisei simply smiled and motioned for her to enter the tent. While staring at Keisei with obvious doubt Ameera reluctantly entered the tent and was shocked, to say the least, when she was greeted by a grand foyer. Ameera turned in a full circle as she took in the her surroundings and then looked at Keisei, "How is this possible?"

Keisei sighed as she scratched the back of her head, "That is a bit of a complicated explanation, suffice it to say I am a talented sorceress that is quite good at enchanting items like this one. This started off as a two person canvas tent, once I was done stitching enchantments on it and of course several adjustments this is now our for lack of better term guild hall. My guess is the inside is roughly the size of a standard villa for a duke?"

Ameera shook her head slightly, "Closer to the size of the lake villa my parents had built when I was born, what is all in here?"

Keisei smiled slightly, "Upstairs we have my quarters, the library, training room, armory, and arena. Now down here we have a stable, dining hall, smithy shop, alchemical lab, a green house, the other living quarters, and last but not least a bath house. The living quarters are magically keyed to your preferences so each room is basically the owner's personal dimension, it's as big and decorated as you need. I will give you a proper tour once we feed you." And as if waiting on cue the princess' stomach growled loudly causing Keisei to chuckle and the princess to blush a bright scarlet as Keisei took her by the hand and lead her to the dining hall.

Once they were in the dining hall Ameera froze like a startled rabbit causing Keisei to pause then look around the room with a small 'Oooooh'. Taking a deep breath and blowing it out she announced loudly, "Oi! I found what or rather who has been following us, this is Princess Ameera of Faloria." Tugging hard on the princess to bring her further into the room she pointed first to the darklings, "Ameera the darkling male is Berric and the female is Fae." With the small nod from the princess she continued on to the rest, "The Minotaur is called Taurek, the half Ogre is called Olgar, and the ass of a Centaur is called Norrik, any questions?"

Ameera looked white as a sheet which made Keisei sigh but she did manage to get out, "Can I have something to eat I don't think I can process anything else on an empty stomach...."

That statement caused all of them to smirk and chuckle, "Just say what you want and the magic of this place will make it for you."

"Roast chicken meat pie, baked potato, and white Falorian wine please." When Ameera's food and wine materialized in front of her, utensils included, she immediately dug into her food like a starved beast.

Keisei watched worriedly and guessed it had been a while since the princess had a proper meal and placed a hand on her shoulder and placed a mug of water next to her as she said gently, "Slow down and drink the water in small measured sips or you will make yourself sick." Keisei was worried she wouldn't listen to reason but to her pleasant surprise Ameera did as she was told, "When was the last time you had a proper meal?"

Ameera paused mainly because she felt nauseous but put some thought into her answer as she counted on her fingers then answered, "I have been surviving on berries and grasses for almost a fortnight now, why?"

Berric snorted softly, "That explains why you tore into the food like a wild animal...."

Ameera blushed deeply and Keisei sighed muttering 'not helping' before turning back to Ameera, "There's no reason to be ashamed of eating voraciously when you haven't had a proper meal in that long, just finish this mug of water rather than having wine, you need proper hydration and alcohol is certainly not the way to achieve that." Now keep in mind as Keisei was saying this she was happily sipping on the glass of wine that Ameera had ordered, the girl didn't care so long as she got to eat her first real meal in weeks and have something to drink that wasn't murky dirty water that made her stomach hurt and gave her the shits every time as well. By the time the princess was finished the men had left and it was just Keisei and Fae setting up what looked to be some sort of measurement spell. When Keisei caught the princess staring she smiled and held her hand out while the dishes were whisked away by Fae, "Alright since we are here we might as well see what your magical talent is, if it shows enough potential I'll bring you with us and train you myself so you can at least go back to your kingdom with information and be an asset rather than empty handed and having no further value than that of a marriage pawn."

The princess while still looking at Keisei's hand looked to her face with the slight cast of suspicion, "And what do you need from me to test that...?"

Keisei chuckled, "Give me your hand and you will find out."

Ameera still looked a little hesitant but after a moments delay she placed her hand palm up in Keisei's and the latter began muttering archaic syllables as she moved the princesses hand over the parchment and quick as a serpent pricked the princesses index finger with a pin, causing her to yelp like a wounded pup, before turning her hand palm down over the parchment to let a drop of blood splatter on the parchment. Once two more drops fell Keisei let go of Ameera's hand and finished her spell and watched as the blood turned black as ink and soon enough she had a break down of the girls potential. Keisei lightly tapped a finger against her chin while reading what looked like a character sheet, "Well you have an impressive amount of potential, you are predisposed to light type spells and enchantments but also show promise in offensive magic as well which means I have the means to teach you as an apprentice along with Fae."

Ameera still had her finger in her mouth looking slightly wronged as the metallic tang of her blood spread over her taste buds. It took her a minute to process what was on the parchment and then asked, "So what does this gibberish mean?" The confusion was clear on her face as her brows raised then furrowed.

Keisei laughed, "It's elvish, and it gives me basically a run down of your essence and what spells will benefit you or harm you. The fact that you called the language gibberish also indicates that we need to work on some scholarly lessons specifically in languages, botany, mana control.... and don't give me that look knowledge is power, and that power can very well be the difference between life and death."

Ameera sighed already feeling exhausted, "So.... when do we start?"

Standing up Keisei patted Ameera's head and said in a motherly tone, "Not tonight lets get you to your room so you can get proper rest, because you are going to need it." With that said Keisei sighed and stood stretching her tired and somewhat aching muscles and lead Ameera along with Fae to the residential wing of the hall and while Fae went into her own room Keisei led Ameera to a vacant room and placed her hand on the door, "Close your eyes and syphon a small amount of mana into the door letting the enchantment know how big you want the room, what you want in it, how you wish it to look down to the most minute detail..." Keisei smiled as she felt things take place and nodded, "Good very good, it should be ready now."

When Ameera removed her hand she let out a long tired sigh and opened the door to gasp in surprise, "I think I did something wrong..."

Keisei peered in and looked confused, "What do you mean?"

Pointing out the window Ameera's voice quivered, "That's my kingdom out the window." She timidly tip toed into her room to realize she did not mess up there was only one way in and out of the room and while she could feel a breeze from the window she could not jump out it. After several inspections of the room she relaxed, "Thank you for everything Miss Keisei I think I need that long nap now."

Keisei chuckled softly, "Sweet dreams Ameera, if you need anything Fae is right next door."' With that said Ameera nodded her head and closed the door and Keisei went upstairs to pass out in her own bed while her brain was already putting lesson plans together for the two girls as she drifted off.
