As the journey continued to the surface Keisei had readjusted the enchantments on the tent several times so that an arena of sorts was added allowing Fae to practice her summoning and attack spells without demolishing the training room, an alchemist lab, and last but not least a green house to grow as many potion ingredients as possible. To say she felt drained would be an understatement and thus she was soaking in the bath wincing at the contact of the hot water on her sore body. As she slowly relaxed she groaned out and muttered, "I swear if they ask me to adjust the environment here again I am going to set it on fire...." she paused to think about it and growled in frustration, "After I take off the damn fire resistance charm off." Keisei was praying at this point that the elixirs she received from Taurek would do the trick and give her a dreamless sleep so that she could actually feel refreshed for once. Once Keisei was done bathing she took pain staking care to slip into her nightgown and wrapping a shawl about her shoulders to keep as many of her scars covered as possible. Upon entering her room she chugged the bitter elixir and crawled into bed, and load and behold she got her first full nights sleep in days.
The following morning Keisei felt better and refreshed for the first time in years let alone the past few days and was humming happily as she got dressed and skipped down to the dining hall and was cooking breakfast for the group.... well for the most part at least, she knew how and what to cook for herself and the two darklings but relied on the magic of the kitchen to provide enough food for the Olgar, Taurek, and the Centaur she thinks is called Norrik. As she was setting the last of the food on the long table one by one they filed in looking shocked to say the least but Berric was the one to speak, "I see someone finally got a good nights sleep.... since when do you serve breakfast?"
Keisei glared at Berric for a long moment and then shrugged her shoulders, "Since I got my first uninterrupted nights sleep in decades and wanted to say thank you, especially since we should reach the surface soon.... tomorrow at the latest. We might be better off sticking together but at the same time I can't force you to stay so eat up!"
There was no further argument with that statement as they went about digging into the massive amount of food she made before going about getting ready to break camp to continue journeying once the protective barrier was broken disassembled the tent and tucked their current home into Keisei's bag of holding. As always they walked in silence with Keisei at the lead because she was a species that didn't petrify surface dwellers, even if such logic bugged the crap out of her. After stopping for midday meal they kept trudging on until they could see wisps of sunlight but paused when something did not smell right and there was a discernible zombieish shuffle and groan pattern. Peeking around the rocks they found just that, however even for zombies they did not quite look right and after silently signaling to attack it. Although the fighters went into battle with a feeling of glee it took twice the amount of effort to down them and only after setting them on fire did they stop moving. Keisei was poking the remains of the one with a stick and a frown, "I'm not sure what turned them but these were guards from the arena most likely waiting to ambush us to take us back... however something got them instead." Keisei then snuck over to the entrance of the cave and furrowed her brows as she picked up a stone and tossed it at the huge mushrooms that upon being struck spewed spores causing her to make a low 'huh' sound. Moving back to the group she applied another coat of fire on the bodies and waited until they were fine ash, "We have weird mushrooms out there, not sure how the two are related but better safe than sorry I guess..... hit one with a rock and it spewed spores so I am not sure how we should deal with them because I have a gut feeling the spores are what did this."
It didn't take long for Olgar to come up with a FANTASTIC solution, "You can always throw a fire ball at them and see what happens." Because after all fire fixes everything.
