To Save A Friend
Third Person POV
"We would arrive in one hour at least."
"Tina, can't we go faster than this?"
Dexter asked Tina while flying at breakneck speed towards Elise, the nation of elves. Tina is currently transformed as a metallic jet black wings on his back, to help him control his flight up in the air.
"We could, by releasing a seal from your power."
"Then release it."
"Why put a seal on yourself when you want to use your power anytime you want? You should really learn how to do things with your current ability."
"Tch, but I just want to save them as quickly as possible. Is it wrong?"
"Rules are rules after all. Break one of them, then why bother putting yourself in a weaker condition?"
Dexter clicked his tongue, feeling disappointed of himself. It's his own fault that he have to hold back and seal his power. Without the seals, he would be able to obliterate a country and make it disappear from the map with just a snap of his fingers. But he decided that he didn't need that excessive power unless the situation would force him to use it.
"You have no choice but to follow your own rules, master."
<~[ An hour before ]~>
Dexter, Tina, Esmeralda, and Chezeal returned to conference room after the observation.
"This will be my honest opinion. The candidates are still diamonds in the rough. If they diligently refine themselves, they can save this world even without me."
Dex voiced out his thoughts about Dane and the other heroes. Chezeal and Esmeralda nodded as they acknowledged his judgement.
He continued.
"But no matter how much you train them, as long as they can't accept the reality of combat, they will never grow. Those kids are fragile, delicate enough that they will be frozen in their place because of fear just by being in front of an armed enemy."
"We'll take that into account."
"Do you have some suggestions as well, Queen Tina?"
Esmeralda glanced at Tina with a smile. Tina revealed her idea to the goddesses.
"To produce such exceptional heroes, we need an excellent trainer for them. And only ones come to mind. The captain of your Celestial Knights, Yuna."
"I shall call Yuna immediately."
Chezeal snapped her fingers in a majestic manner and a minute after, a knock was heard from outside the huge double doors of the conference room. The door opened and revealed a beautiful maiden with a cerulean colored hair, wearing a white dress armor with a gold emblem sewn to her navy blue skirt. The young lady gracefully walked towards Dexter and the three pretty demoiselle.
The lady knight kneeled in front of them and greeted them.
"The captain of Celestial Knights, at your service, Your Eminence, Your Majesty."
"Come on, stand up. No need to be so formal."
Tina commanded. Yuna stood up to show her compliance.
"So, you are called here to be become the one who will train the newbie heroes to become a better bunch. This will be the task that will be giving you, please do your utmost best not to disappoint us."
"I am grateful for the trust you've given me, Your Eminence."
Yuna bowed as she accepted her duty, with a smile on her face.
"It seems you've grown, little lassy."
Dexter looked at her with an air of a father looking at his daughter growing up.
"Of course, master!"
Yuna was satisfied with that little compliment given by her mentor. Those are the words she yearned for after five centuries. Suddenly, a shout came from the wide open doors of the room.
"Bad news! The capital of the Elven Country is under the siege of Demon King Army.
The shout came from a petite girl with blood red hair. She wore a black gothic dress that strangely suits her fair skin. Her name is Dmitri Vinice, and don't be fooled by her cute looks, her title, Goddess of War, is not a joke.
"What?!"
Dexter faced Chezeal and Esmeralda, and asked in a hurried manner.
"The summoning circle is present in which country?"
"It's in Bevrin, the Nation of Humans."
Chezeal replied immediately.
"Can you send us there this instant?"
"We can't send you there unless you are summoned by the Summoners."
Dexter grimaced at what he heard. He can't waste more time to be idling around. He have someone close to him to save. He turned to Tina and spoke. The two goddesses could only feel sorry.
"Do it."
"What are you about to do?"
Asked Esmeralda.
"[Forced Transfer]. We don't have the time to wait."
"But that's dangerous!"
Dexter replied with a deadpan face. Esmeralda warned them but he didn't give a damn about her words. Chezeal placed her hand on Esmeralda's shoulder. She turned towards Chezeal only to see her shaking her head.
"You can't stop them. Leave them be, they know what they're doing."
Tina glanced at Chezeal and gave her thanks.
"Thank you Chezeal."
She replied with small nod.
"Master, bring me too!"
Hearing their exchange, she tried to come with Tina and Dexter. Dexter denied her.
"You still have your own duties. This matter rests upon my hands. Do your job and I'll do what's mine."
"Yes, master."
She hanged her head in defeat.
"Dexter, let's go."
Tina ushered him to stepped inside the magic circle she made to start the [Transfer].
"The transfer might be inaccurate, we might be transferred a few kilometers away from the circle."
Tina notified Dexter, and he gave her a nod as an answer.
"It's better to be transferred outside the city, rather than causing unwanted commotion near the summoning circle. Well then, we'll be taking our leave."
The remaining women waved them goodbye, then a blinding flash of light filled the room. Few moments after, the duo disappeared without trace from the room.
"But I haven't received my chocolate yet."
Dmitri pouted as she walked towards the three.
"In this time, that's what your thinking of?"
Chezeal murmured while shaking her head.
<~[ Present ]~>
He could only grit his teeth because of his powerlessness in his current form. Suddenly, an idea popped up in his mind that made him grin.
"Well then, I'll just use something that is allowed."
"Ohoho, it seems you are learning how to rely to others."
Tina spoke like she's having fun, but Dex only replied with an awkward smile.
"The situation is dire, so I can't refuse any help now. I need to get to the Capital of Elise as soon as possible."
"You know what to do, just ask them."
"Yeah, yeah. Just make sure I'm stable while summoning."
"I know what I have to do, master."
Dex closed his eyes and gathered mana as he let his consciousness drift away.
"The one who rules over wind, answer my call and be my aide. Come forth, Sylph!"
He opened his eyes and released his stored mana. The mana discharged started to make a figure of girl with two translucent pair of wings from her back. The jade colored hair of the girl blends perfectly with her green grass-like dress. The girl with a height of a ruler was Sylph, the Faerie of the Wind.
"How can I help you?"
She asked with a gentle tone.
"Please grant me the blessing of the wind for mean time."
"And for what reason?"
"The Elven Capital, Elise, is under attack by the Demons. I need to get there to reduce casualties."
"Under attack? So those filthy mongrels are invading my beloved elves? Well then, I'll give you my blessing, and will you please take care of those fucking trash for me?"
The mild tone and kind smile of Sylph immediately became murderous after hearing the problem from Dexter. He could only smile wryly from the sudden change of attitude.
"Please mind your language, Miss Sylph."
"Oh, I'm sorry for that Lady Tina."
Her smiled returned to its former form as she calmed down, but you can see that her eyes aren't smiling at all.
"Anyway, is that all you want, boy?"
"That's all, thank you, Miss Sylph."
"Anytime. So I'll be leaving now, tata."
Before she disappeared, she snapped her fingers and a small green orb of light entered Dexter's body.
"So that's the help you asked for?"
Asked Tina.
"Yep, all I need for now is speed, so this should work."
Dexter replied as he accelerates through the sky while ignoring the pings inside his head.
