Chereads / A Lucid Dream / Chapter 36 - Ajahgiri

Chapter 36 - Ajahgiri

You never know the day the rainy sky turns sunny when least expected. We both knew and believed in what good we could get having the bestowed powers. And in order to wield this in a more efficient way, Prakash was told,

"Explore alongside the Ojas. You shall find the treasure in you, Prakash!"

I wondered if he had to go on a field study or something. I was dying here to spend more time with Prakash. I cursed Ahim and resented him a bit but we had to do what we were obliged to do, according to Ahim. If not, we wouldn't get wired any money. Yes, of course, we need money to make living in this world. Since we were not supposed to have any worldly jobs, Ahim announced that we would get enough money for the quality of work we perform. We were assigned to some basic stuff as and when the Ojas directed us to do. It involved two things. The first is acting as a Guardian Angel, we were not but we acted as one and the second one is to get rid of the unfortunate events. Sometimes avoiding certain events may help spread happiness and sometimes you are supposed to create the mood and do certain activities to spread happiness. After all, happiness is not too far away from us. I learnt that most of the time, we turn blind to joy and choose to focus only on the misfortunes that happened to us. That's how toxic we human beings are and that's how we normalise what is not supposed to be.

"I am not sure if the first blow plan is gonna be the right choice…", I worried with Prakash sitting beside me who was staring at my side profile. I could say that he was worried too, what he was scared of the most was not getting hurt but the misery. The misery of human life which we were exposed to, more than anything through this Ahim's task was overwhelming both physically and psychologically. We all have heard how Prince Gautam was hugely affected by the misery in life, which led him to the ultimate enlightenment. But I doubt if we were on the same page as we felt ourselves crumble more as days passed by.

Prakash slowly closed my eyes with his hands the warmth of his palm comforted me, "Let's escape!", I suggested.

"Then, I am gonna choose the place."

A range of mountains was waiting for my arrival, I might have never seen such a place and never get to be if not for him. He showed me the most solace in this world that I would never get in this life. Before my ears got colder and the thoughts got frozen, he covered my ears gently. I heard the sound of the breeze and nothing else, but the beat of my heart on the top of a mountain.

The ground under my feet was covered with grasses and so did all around the place. It looked as if the lawn had raised into a mountain in the middle of nowhere only to stand astonishingly beautiful. His playful eyes looked into mine with a smile directing me to follow in his footsteps. There was a field of tiny white flowers, it was Leucas Aspera, down there at the base of the mountains.

"Wow! I have seen these…like everywhere… but never were these beautiful…", Prakash was staring at the field when I was looking for his reaction. "Where are we, Prakash?"

"We are in the Ajopavana!", he looked around and then pointed out a cave in the middle of the mountain beside the one from which we climbed down. We did not think twice, we already started climbing towards the cave we spotted. We had a vague idea about the Ojas who had been meditating in a cave among the Ajahgiri range we were in. There might be many caves, but the curiosity piqued at us.

"Ah! It's gonna take some time. Can you continue?", Prakash extended his hand to me. I took it and said that I was good to go.

It wasn't too steep, we saw how beautiful the path was, we were sure that the earth doesn't have such an untouched place of nature. It was clean, there we spotted a few birds that were chirping and fluttering around following our trail with us. The trees provided us with the shades when we got tired. "I am glad it is not tiring… if it was exhausting… I would have killed you for making me climb…"

"Ah! Tom would have loved this!!"

"Spill it already, you planned to visit this place in the first place…", I growled.

He smirked, "Such a weakling…", he sped up his pace, "I wish there's something in this place… that could help us…"

"Do you perhaps talk privately with Ahim…in my absence?"

He gave me an apologetic smile, "We are not enough…at least, that's what I feel…"
