Chapter 27 - I Should Go!

What had I done? At that moment, I had to perform my duty so I tried to concentrate and keep my mind clear. I did not want to think about being turned down by the guy who was beside me and I realised how much of a big mistake it was. I knew it was bound to happen, I was supposed to get my heart broken but that was not the right time. I would say, I had already missed the moment to propose and go through that heartbreak. If everything went well as Ahim wanted, we had an eternity to spend together and this one mistake of mine could break all the peace we needed in order to work together.

I even had a hope that he would come to return my feelings somewhere in the future. We were on the top of a mountain, Prakash closed his eyes and his instincts directed us, "Down there!"

We had to climb down the mountain, we had no idea where in the world we had landed, the mountain had a rocky path. This was not the first time we had to experience such hardships while we were on duty. Yes, we decided to call this our duty although it started as helping Ahim. There were some times I wished we had someone like Ojasas for Ahim. Wouldn't be good to know that we have someone to go to whenever we feel drained out?

I too had something like that in the past. It was Prakash, I didn't even have to talk to him, just looking at his pictures were more than recharging my energy. Uhh! I hated having to live a 'melodramatic life'. I knew I had to put the romance aside and look at what was more important at that moment.

"Hurry up!", Prakash called me out.

"We are near!"

There we saw something really strange. It might be something that shouldn't have been found out, at least by us. We stopped moving and hid behind a bush. It was a secluded place in the mountain. The mood in the place was so eerie, we could catch the situation quickly. There was a very old house in the mountain hidden in the middle of dense trees.

"What the..!", Prakash was shocked seeing the tombstones erected on the ground like a graveyard. There was no reason to have a graveyard in the middle of nowhere. That made us suspect something fishy going on there. That's when a guy of shorter than six feet height in very tattered clothes appeared. As soon as he arrived, the flowers around the house had withered to death.

It took only a few seconds to realize that the problem was not the man but the flowers around. There was a green aura like thing raised from the flowers when the man appeared, we had no proof but what we saw weirdly made some sense to us. Prakash pointed out the same, we concluded that the flowers had some kind of power to control the man's mind. And that the graveyard was filled with corpses of people he had killed.

"Should we go closer?"

"Wait, Sita!", he stopped me and doubted, "What if the green thing is poisonous?"

"Ah! What do we do now?"

"Prakash! Sita! See me now!", it was Ahim's voice echoing in our head. The ground under my feet was rockier and for a split of a second I had slipped, the guy heard us hiding among the bushes. He groaned in anger and moved towards us who were astonished and were frozen in fear. He was fast and he cried, "Who's there?"

We had an option, we could have chosen to go to Ahim quicker. But that guy was already punching Prakash right in the face. "Sita, not yet!", Prakash warned. We remembered how I dragged Prakash in with my teleportation. If our theory was right, with physical touch, I could have brought that guy to Ahim's place. That seemed to be the worst accident though.

"Stay away!", Prakash pushed me aside and returned the punch to that guy. He did not even flinch and hit Prakash harder with his fist. It had split Prakash's lips and I could see the colour of Prakash's faces changing darker with every punch from that guy.

"Unannounced feast is even more welcome! Hahaha!!!", that was one kind of a crazy laugh he had.

"Don't get ahead of yourself, you jerk!", Prakash kicked him to the ground and climbed on top and threw hard punches. He was like a stone, every punch had hurt Prakash's fists but not him. There was another episode of a crazy laugh from him that made us go insane. He only had to make a weak push for Prakash to fly and hit a tree.

I sprinted to Prakash to find him lying unconscious. "Prakash! Prakash!", he did not wake up.

"Woah! I am so happy today!!!", he grinned and held me by my hair and said, "Another one measly fly!", he threw me away and started kicking the shit outta Prakash.

'Oh! We cannot die here!', I cried in fear. I fainted right there looking at Prakash about to die in the hands of a murderer.
