The next morning, when I went to the kitchen. I saw a note on the fridge which read,
*Don't prepare breakfast for me babe, I have to leave early. There has been an emergency so I won't be back for another 5 days. Take care of yourself
-Aiden*
He just asked for a date and went for 5 days.
Its good, right? I won't have to go on a date with him. But, why am I feeling this disappointment?
I went to work.
Mark asked me about Aiden but was clearly uncomfortable about me taling care of him, staying with him most of the time.
He asked me my routine more often than ever. Every time I told him I fed him. I checked on him.
I found him desolate and disheartened.
I don't understand why? Is he jealous?
I mean I should be happy? Shouldn't I?
But you see, there is a difference between crush and love.
I had a crush on him because of his appearance, the way he treated me, but I had no feeling of love for him. So I couldn't give him any false hopes.
May be, with time, I develop later. But not now.
So I stay with him just as friends.
We hang out. Go to eat together whenever we get time.
And I liked hanging out with him.
So the day went pretty fun, handling some cases. Assisting successful surgeries.
It was time to leave when Mark asked me
"Would you go on a movie with me tomorrow, please?"
"Yeah, sure. I would love to!" I replied enthusiastically.
It had been a long time.
We only had gone to eat. Watching a movie would be the first time.
"Okay, Now, you get free early tomorrow and get an hour to go home and then we leave, so, 6pm it is! I'll br there at your door." He said with his eyes gleaming.
"Aye, Aye Captain!"
The next day. I put on a cute royal blue coloured mini dress with beige stilettos.
And Mark took me to the cinema.
He got me popcorns and we were watching the movie.
I correct, I was watching the movie, Mark was watching me!
"Mark, what?" I scolded
"What?" he asked
"Why aren't you watching the movie?
Is it not interesting or is there something on my face?" I asked
"Its just that I don't find anything more interesting than you. Why should I watch the movie when I have something so beautiful to look at".
I porbably shouldn't have put on blush because my cheeks were now 10 times red.
Mark was flirting, right? Or am I dreaming?
Isn't he making it obvious?
He wants to make a move but he doesn't want to blurt it out directly.
"Shut up and watch the movie, Mark. It is really interesting."
"Noooooo!" He cried like a baby.
"Mark, look forward or I'll hit you in the place you wouldn't want me to."
I heard him huffing which was cute though.
After the movie, we ate and he was so cute throughout so adorable that you'd just want to hug him till he loses his breath.
I had seen Mark being caring, intellectual and at times adorable too, but today was different.
He seemed to be opened up to me completely. He had put his guard down.
He dropped me home.
I offered him to come in.
He didn't let that opportunity be missed.
He came in immediately and started to look around. I knew whom he was looking for.
"He isn't at home, Mark".
"Oh, where did he go?"
"I don't know. He just got better and then left wih a note on the fridge telling he'll be gone for 5 days."
Mark's eyes shone like diamonds.
He smirked like he had won a race.
Such a baby he is!
"Its late now Mark. You should go home." I said.
"Uh.. Ya.. Okay!" he replied as if I had just runied his moment of victory.
We exchanged a short hug and he went out.
I closed the door and just entered my room when I heard the door bell ring.
I opened it to see Mark saying his car broke. It wasn't working.
And there wasn't any cabs this moment.
"Oh, no problem. You can stay here tonight." I offered.
"Yeah, thanks, Stella!"
He welcomed himself in and I showed him the guest room.
"Can't I just sleep with you, in your room." he asked.
"No, Mark. What is the problem with this room?"
"Uh, nothing. Its nice but I just wanna be near you."
"We are literally in the same house, Mark. Just stay here.
If you need anything you can tell me, okay?"
"Okay" he said, surely, he was expecting something more.
I changed and was about to fal asleep when there was a knock on the door.
