Chapter 22 - Chapter 18: Boss floor

like many things in life, it ne'r goes thy way. If one were to only regard positively, he shall be blessed  with lifes happiness. This is not deception yet good faith.

(note: ner = never

yet = but)

This was what a wise man (#Me XD) told him. He could not put it better to use than this current situation.

And so he did.

He ignore them and moved on.

Companions are like a family, when times are peaceful they are always able to find ways to provoke and agitate other family members into annoyance; internally this lead to shouts, disagreements, unsatisfaction or some kind with other members of the family, isolating themselves for a while, before popping up and acting like nothing had happened or apologize and come to a conclusion.

A family that consist of arguments and disagreements, but most of all they would able to place aside all the past resentment with one another when another family members needs help- thats a true family.

(I wrote until this point before having problems with my family, I guess I calculated my future, I'm a prophet. XD)

Shriek and shrills sounded off one by one, like a spasmodic flickering of a light bulb. Emyrs and his team were basically unstoppable in this low rank dungeon(C rank); this was like a slaughter house to them. A one sided battle.

Bacon dungeon - floor 10

They had finally arrived at the boss floor. Although it took a few hours they were, in fact, very impressive considering their team consisted of mostly C rank members.

The trait of the dungeon, illusion, was gone. All there was left was a hardened layer of dusty crust that filled the entirety of the small dungeon hallway. Skulls and bones were littered everywhere, barrales tumbled and piles of decayed ashes formed; steel spider webs wrapped and filled every nook and cranny.

It looked liked the innocents of a broken ruins, untouched for years. The wooden doors, were in a sense, very dusty and flaky but there wasnt any rotten or decaying parts. Seemed to well preserved.

Many would imagine the boss floor to be stuffed with traps and obstacle to deter adventurers from entering the boss floor or at least weaken them.

However, this floor was the complete opposite; there wasnt only the absence of traps and obstacles, there was also the presence of rooms filled with treasures.

It seemed way too suspicious. Question were popping up on Emyrs head one after the other, questions like: Is it a trap?, is it the dungeons way to deter adventurers to proceed on wards?, is it the dungeons way to warn us? or maybe just this style of dungeon that is like this?.

Emyrs opened Ecthopedia (a rip off of Wikipedia), in search for the truth. A screen filled with Information appeared out of thin air just like how when an old tv is turned on; the only difference is that there is not a structural frame nor any metal plates.

It seems that most dungeons rewards you with treasures when you reach every subsequent 10th floor. If one were lucky they might find treasures to aid them in the upcoming boss battle. When the boss is defeated not only would the boss drop great loot, there would be a chest that was guarded by the boss that would contain rare loot depending on the rank and floor of the dungeon.

On floor 10, the bosses are pretty weak when compared to other level. However you would be wrong if you looked down on it because bosses in dungeons has an unfair advantage in terms of health when compared to their outside cousins. Although they has way more health, its not actually harder to defeat them; this is because they arent as strong or versatile as their cousins.

After looting most of the treasures, they insisted to carry on and fight the boss. Their enthusiasm probably came from the golden bacon that Emyrs seared. Not long after they, came across a tall and large metallic portcullis; it was perfectly polished without a single speck of dust could be seen. The purity of this gate was through the point of absurdity. The moment they walked it felt like entering a colossal colosseum, very grand.

It almost felt as if they were about to bet their life on this battle. The tension was high. Sitting in the middle of the arena was a sleeping giant; he had a sound sleeping face paired with crimson white long beard and strands of orange hair. It was clear that the giant was getting old.His head and arms were latched on by reddish brown chains. Emrys and his team went nearer and nearer. In about 200 meters, they were in high alert as strands of malicious intentions seep out of a two axes that stood dormant beside the giant.

Dungeon boss are in a sense robots, they have fixed abilities and are very predictable unless they are lower than 20% health. Once reached 20% the most common thing for members of a team to do is end as much barrages as quickly as they could, defeating the boss at fast as possible.

If you think that repeating the boss would be easy, you are kind of right. (XD) Although the boss would not be exactly the same as the last one it is extremely similar; the only thing that would change is their stats and the frequent usage of abilities.

However both of this could be tackled with a stronger team and knowledge. It is said the even though their stats would change it would still be in a certain range. It would has been estimated to increase or decrease at a maximum of 5 increase of decrease in stats (which is still a drastic increase, about 2 times stronger at max).
