With the girl gone and the cafe completely closed off, William tested out the two spells he had been waiting for.
The Magic Missile and Blur, the expectation was high but reality was just...
so disappointing.
the magic missile was thinner than a penny, and shorter than a 9mm bullet, blur did just that, blurred his body just slightly.
but then again it was still only level one so who knows what will happen if it reaches a higher level~.
As he pondered on the other abilities of the wami system had to offer, a gigi sound came from his side as a little green creature was pulling on his pants.
it was a goblin!
While it did startle him into halfway raising his leg to kick it, William controlled himself when the creature did nothing it just stood there.
That was when he remembered the 'MINION' tab that he ended up ignoring so the man crouched down then stared at the green little guy that tilted its head while sucking on its forefinger.
Finding it kind of cute like a new pet, William picked it up then sat down on one of the chairs with it on his lap while petting its head as he checked more on the minion tab as it had 'adventure', 'minion lab' with the others still needing to be unlocked.
Curious he tapped the adventure option, only for the minion to suddenly disappear!
While it should've been obvious, the goblin was sent on an 'adventure' it was like watching a pokemon fight in 3D as for its opponent, it was another goblin, the fight was like watching two grade-schoolers throwing random punches, kicks, and with bites, the fight was a close call...
with his goblin losing!
At its defeat, the goblin reappeared in front of him sprawled on the ground facing the ceiling, eyes spinning with some nasty bite marks and bruises. it was a sad defeat, but this was his minion from now on, so william had to take care of it
The man provided it with some first aid, the bugger went nuts when alcohol was dabbed into its bite marks.
Not only that, William discovered something he didn't notice before.
the goblin had no junk down there!
The man sure as hell wasn't going to be checking thoroughly.
So he just assumed it either had no gender or it was female, while his thoughts strayed to the latter.
He gave the goblin that he named Abel to throw one hundred punches, kicks, with the Saitama routine just that it'll be jogging in place for ten minutes instead of running around for all to see, while it completed the tasks given without question it belly was growling when it was done.
While he assumed it could eat food the goblin wouldn't touch it, much less eat it it was then he looked at the minion tab for help as it was looking rather teary-eyed at him.
Then William saw the option fed minion exp or mana, since had some spare mana he selected it before 2 points were given and the goblin was fully recovered and full of energy, all while wanting to fight something since it was that eager, he sent able to have its rematch with the goblin, one thing was for sure its training paid off as it won...
Barely!
While the punching and kicking training kind of worked but once blood was drawn, it went back to the second-grade-schooler fighting style with it having the advantage.
With a bonus, it gained a club!
So to test something, he wrapped some magazines on Abel's forearms and shins tied with a cloth, if it can bring that stuff he'll give it better gear later, if not William will have to let it grind to strengthen its gear and get more equipment.
The result.
It worked, and the club that it left in this world was usable to William!
Thinking back on the fancy and powerful gear you can get by having your minion collect as it got stronger made him look forward to that, by the way, his goblin made the fight last longer than it should have, by throwing the damn knife at its adversary only for the blunt part to hit square at the center of its face!
William's right cheek twitched at the sight of this.
Looks like knife thrusting will be added to its training routine later!
Since it won, the WAMI system asked William if he'd like to have his goblin come out or let it grind while using some of his mana to heal the dumb bugger whenever it got injured.
Yeah, he let it grind as his current spells reached the next level as a tab began flashing that stated 'tasks'.
So like what anyone would do, he checked it.
It was giving him his first tutorial task, leveling his two spells to ten!
Since it was a challenge, he took it on waiting to see was his reward will be.
just like in the game it gave him 25 silvers, and 2500 exp then unlocked the town tab~
That was something he will never say no to!
Opening the town tab, it showed an empty plane, with currently four available slots, a house, a school, a cottage, and a temple.
These four buildings were ready to be made since he had enough funds to do so.
the house increases the amount of wealth received by 2% per level within the game and sales.
The school increases the spell bonus aka additional stats by 2% per level.
with the cottage reducing the wait time by 0.02 seconds per level to recover and return to defeating monsters that his clone was dealing with.
With the temple making the enemies his clone had to deal with weaker by 2% per level.
While the wealth bonus was something that made the fights faster for his clone was worth it in the long run as more kills = more wealth and exp!
So he invested in the temple only to be shown.
"insufficient funds!"
Tch he clicked his tongue before choosing the damn cottage as it ate 10 silvers!
Then he invested the rest into the house, which quickly became something that he loved almost immediately.
as for why?
His real house was upgraded too!
With the pleasant changes from better chairs, relaxing feeling, and oddly beautified interior this would help his cafe in the long run!
So he invested the rest of his wealth into the house!
bringing it to level five before noticing it made small amounts of mana flow through making it extremely worth the investment as a mana user~
Since things were going well, he wanted to see if it added some bonuses to his mana refill rate.
The sight was something, to his original mana limit there was a + sign beside it with this after it...
(998000)
Within the house, it boosted not only his mana limit but also upped his recovery rate by 13 points per 9.80 seconds...
Yeah, William is going to focus on that from now on!
William like a giddy child quickly went to the exp tab and looked at the amount he had with how the bonus of the house was so helpful, the man decided to focus all of his exp on both refill and mana power while it only added 11 points worth of each it was something that would help him survive.
But guess what was the best part?
He can triple his current mana cap with the remaining exp which he immediately did!
Bringing his current stats to this should he leave the house.
mana cap 3000
mana refill 13 per 25 seconds
Mana power 13
health 1432
offense 383
defense 333
meaning that during his wait and testing things, both of his spells had reached level 141 wanting to see the difference he cast a magic missile it was the size of a 9mm bullet, and as long as one too, he let it disperse before trying the other one blur!
it was like looking at a distorted figure when he approached his mirror, which was not bad if he had to return to his old job later hopefully not.
So upon dispersing the spell, William finally got to see his looks, he was satisfied, not too handsome, not too good looking yet there was a problem still as he remembered a few certain things about his current looks.
Neck-length black smooth hair, Blue gentle eyes, an upside-down egg-shaped face, a slightly pointed nose, average body build, and 5'8" in height, if this was an anime his looks were very similar to Yato from noragami.
Which in most cases meant he'll be having trouble later for obvious reasons.
But he quickly put that aside as William was more interested in his current stats~
With the additional mana, he bumped up the invested mana on both of his first spells to one hundred!
Keeping focused on the amount of wealth he had to upgrade his house again!
not that he can help it, this was a dream come true to William as he wanted to eventually summon some demons to help him grow, and no it isn't the typical demons.
These are his own personal demons that are made by conjuring them.
On top of that, they should be permanent~
so when he finally got enough funds he quickly upgraded the house yet again to experience the wonders of the upgrades~
Only since he was having so much fun, someone decided to mess with him, as the first true task he received popped up in front of him.
"survive one game of zombie simulator, you will be a zombie with your spells set and locked to level 10 prove yourself you are worthy and great rewards will be given, should you fail, less gods will test you making it harder to grow."
Seeing that message, William could only curse out.
"Well, fuck!"
