"Caretaker, Harry got hurt climbing the mound" the kids said in a disjointed fashion as they were panicking. The caretaker had a furious expression.
"How many times have I told you to stay away from there. It's too dangerous." The caretaker said in a fit of rage.
"We can take punishment later. Please help Harry first." The children said as they held tears back in their eyes. Rin followed as the group led them out into the fields where a large pile of dirt dropped down to a pit.
The sounds of a child in pain could be heard from the hole in the ground. Harry, the child, was clutching his leg as it maintains an ugly purple colour and was severely swollen. Rin looking down from the pit could easily guess the bone was broken.
"Hurry we need to get him out from there" the caretaker said in a tone of worry, the anger she had before dissipated as concern for the injured child took over. Rin looked on as several of the children knew they wouldn't be able to get out of the pity without several of them let alone an injured person.
"I'll go" Rin said as she dropped down into the pit. Before the caretaker could stop her she had already jumped from her side. Harry looked up as he saw Rin standing above him. Her appearance gave him a fright.
"I'm not afraid of ghosts" Harry said while waving a small stick from the ground. Rin chuckled at the small child's bravery. Crouching next to him Rin gave him a smile.
Unfortunately what was a small smile for Rin had brightened the child's world, even the pain in his leg had momentarily stopped. Rin however didn't notice and begun to check his leg. Even without her medical knowledge or seeing some of the energy in the world this child's leg was certainly broken.
Turning to face the caretaker that was above, Rin had to raise her voice to be heard her.
"Looks like he broke his leg bone. He definitely shouldn't walk or move." Said Rin. The caretaker had a troubled expression as she didn't know what to do. Rin had already held the child up in her form of a prince carry as she leapt out of the hole. The crowd was surprised while Rin laid the child down as she picked up her cane she left on the ground. Turning to one of the children Rin demanded their attention from her gaze
"I live down the road, there's a man there who can help. Tell him Rin sent you and we need some of the plaster and bandages." The child nodded even though he didn't understand what she meant and ran off in the direction that Rin pointed to.
Rin pulled out a small bitof powder that she kept in the small pouch with her.
"What are you doing?" The caretaker asked in a panic at the strange powder that Rin was about to feed Harry. Return to the caretaker with an amused smile.
"It's a painkiller" Rin said while shrugging, although the caretaker liked Rin she was still hesitant to trust the child's life with her.
However the boy was already slowly unscrunching as he felt the pain in his leg start to fade and numb. After a few minutes he had already stopped panting and sweating from the pain and watched on as the group around him were still panicking.
"In a moment my friend will be here, we'll put him on the back of the cart" Rin said, already having instructed the kids to make sure that the injured child shouldn't move in case he hurt himself more. The caretaker felt much more confident after how Rin was dealing with the situation and waited on the side in case anything else happened.
Soon Leon could be seen trundling into view with the horse and cart in tow. The child who ran off to find Leon ran back into the group of children that were gathered around Rin and the injured person.
"I got the things you asked for, what do we do with the kid?" Leon's thoughts had already guessed what rin needed but it was good to confirm when it came to this strange woman.
"We'll need to carry him over, make sure he doesn't move much on the cart"Rin directed Leon on placing the young boy carefully O the cart. The agitation on his leg caused the boy to inhale sharply, it looked quite serious to everyone there.
"Did you get what asked for as well Leon?" Rin said while they were slowly carting the by back to the orphanage.
"In the back" Leon gestured as Rin noticed the pack. Rummaging around she confirmed that she had all she needed. The caretaker, with a bit too much curiosity, wanted to take a peek but Rin had already closed up the pack.
As they trundled back to the outer courtyard, Rin kept checking on how the child,Harry, was doing. Aside from the pain which had been mostly numbed he didn't have any particular illnesses or wounds thankfully. Most of Rin's worried were dispelled and just wanted to wait until they were settled before she would begin.
Lifting off Harry who was injured, they carried him in doors. However, to the surprise of everyone Rin asked them to not be allowed in. The caretaker protested but Leon stood guard at room preventing any visitors.
"I'll ensure he's better soon" Rin said as she slammed the door shut on the group just outside. Leon gave a few reassuring words to the children and caretaker but everyone stood by with worry hanging heavy in their hearts.
It didn't take too long for Rin to come out of the room and everyone anxiously looked in. Harry was already relaxing from the short experience but his face was very pale. His leg that had been broken was wrapped in something hard which causes the children to try and poke or but it felt quite solid under their hands.
"What did you do?" The caretaker asked, if something would happen to this child while she was here she could never forgive herself.
"I set the bone and braced the leg. He should be fine within a couple months" Rin explained as everyone aside from Leon were staring at the strange bandaging of Harry's leg.
"How can we possibly thank you?" The caretaker said while giving a deep bow. It wasn't hard to see the relief on her face. Rin placed a hand on the caretaker's shoulder, an evil grin spread across her face.
"I know something that would be perfect for you to repay me" the caretaker was starting to sweat under that malevolent gaze. What did this young miss have in mind the caretaker thought as she gulped under the pressure.
