Kadachi lets out a loud howl and he looked furious.
"There is no way in hell I will be beaten by weaklings such as you! Let alone girls! I will destroy you!! "
with all his strength he breaks the vines and darts after Naiomi who instantly grew pale as she realizes her magic wasn't strong enough to subdue him. She quickly is brought back to reality as he jumps up in the air to tackle her. At the last second before the collision, Kana kicks Kadachi in his ribs sending him a few feet away landing hard on the ground.
" what's the matter Lord Kadachi did you forget about me? You should really be wearier of your surroundings you big fool! "
His teammate quickly runs over to him to try to help him up but Kadachi swings his arm at him.
" Don't fucking touch me! You are in my way! "
He pushes him off of him and Naiomi quickly takes this opportunity to grow her vines once more while they bickered at each other and one twists around the guy with the glasses but Kadachi quickly jumps back at the last second.
" your dumb tricks won't work on me again! "
once he looks back up he realizes Kana wasn't in sight just Naiomi with a devious smirk written on her face. He quickly turns around and blocks the incoming kick at the last second that was aimed for his head. He grabs her foot instead and swings her around throwing her into Naiomi.
Naomi smashes into the ground hitting her head hard on a rock passing out. Kana quickly gets back up to continue to fight but then the buzzer goes off signaling the match's end. A voice over the speakers rings out around the stadium.
" What a spectacular match ladies and gentlemen! The time is up and the win goes to Kadachi and Fujiko! Now if the medics would please enter and treat the wounded so the next match will begin shortly! "
I watch as they carry Naiomi away in a stretcher and feel utterly sorry for her I sulk looking quite miserable for my friend. Kirito places his hand on my shoulder and I look behind me seeing his gentle smile.
" Don't worry so much about it they did their best and put up a good fight. Normally people who go up against Kadachi is finished within 10 minutes so they did an outstanding job to last as long as they did. "
His words brought a smile to my face and gave me a sense of peace. it felt nice to be reassured like that
" Yeah your right, thanks Kirito. "
Suzaku sneers and throws his arm around me from behind and I tense up. He was so close I could smell his cologne and his hair brushes against my cheek as he stood behind me
" Yuki...Did you know that I'm much stronger than your partner Kirito here? "
I try to shrug his arm off but he stays put.
" umm...Suzaku could you please let go of me? And I have no say in who's stronger because I have never seen you battle. "
Suzaku chuckles but keeps his position and I begin to grow overwhelming uncomfortable. Just then Kirito grabs Suzaku's arm and shoved him away from me.
" Hey what's the big deal! "
Suzaku shows him his fist as he rants.
" How dare you touch me Kirito! "
Kirito smirks and it looked cold and distant as he spoke.
" She asked you to get your arm off of her did you not hear her? She looked so uncomfortable it seems you still have no manners towards women after all these years Suzaku. "
Suzaku laughs at Kirito's reply.
" Look who's speaking you, player! Your such a hypocrite Kirito! "
it was as if lighting was shooting out of their heads towards each other as they stared immensely at one another and I wave my hands in front of me as I spoke to try to defuse the argument before it escalated even further.
" Hey now let's all try to calm down! Why don't I go get us some refreshments from the stands! I'll be right back! "
They both look away from each other and turn towards me nodding in union.
" ok good I'll be right back! "
with that said and done I make my way out and down the stairs to get some refreshments. Once done paying for my order I go back to the room with the drinks in hand. I push the door open to see them all staring astonished and wide-eyed out below the arena.
" What's wrong? "
I ask nervously and set the drinks down on the back table before walking up to the window to see what was going on. Down below in the middle of the stadium stood a man who I didn't recognize. He has elegant styled light brown hair and slender indigo eyes. He wore the late headmaster's emblem on his black suit sleeve. I racked my brain trying to figure out if I had seen this man before but came up empty. I inwardly sigh and decide to ask the question knowingly I'd look dumb since it seemed I was the only one here who didn't know this man
" who's that? "
Shun snickers and pushes his glasses up with his index finger.
" That's the new Headmaster Roy Kyoto Chen...He's also the man best known as the flame master. He's the only one who has survived up against the now vampire lord while his entire team was killed. He's very skilled and a very important asset to this country. I'm shocked to see he was placed as the Headmaster here while there are many other better opportunities than this that are better suited for his capabilities. "
Shuns speech brought a chill down my spine.
( It is odd if you think about it. I can only wonder why he was sent here of all places since he's so highly qualified! )
I bit my lower lip as the different possibilities popped up in my mind. Deep in thought, Kirito hands me a cup I had just brought in and set down a minute ago and I take it without hesitation or even realizing it and sip on it while lost in my thoughts.
