Once the tournament ended for the day we all went home to rest, I took the opportunity to visit Naiomi since she was sent back on bed rest. I sit down beside her bed as she looked at me with pitiful eyes.
" Oh Yuki! We were so close to winning against that low-life thug Kadachi but I epically failed! "
I cover my mouth with one hand as I giggle at her tantrum.
" It's ok Naiomi I think you were amazing out there today! So what if you didn't win at least you were able to prove yourself all the way up until the end! "
She pouts and then breaths a deep sigh looking more serious.
" I guess your right but hey there is something I have been meaning to ask you. "
I tilt my head to the side.
" Oh yeah, what's up? "
I ask curiously. She reaches into her pocket and holds out her hand. I bring my hand up to hers and she drops a small item into it. I look curiously at it and soon realize what it was.
" Naiomi where did you get this? "
she puts a finger to her cheek as she thought.
" well that's the thing...when I was in the infirmary a cute guy gave it to me and said it was yours. I was wondering who he was to you I think he said his name was umm...Akai? No that's not it...OH! Akira! Yeah, that's right! "
I stared at the small marble-like rock that was light blue and white she handed me and am brought back to a memory. When Akira and I first met this was the first gift he gave me. I had thought it was the prettiest rock I had ever seen and he thought I was dumb for liking it so much but still got it as a gift for me. It was on a chain and was a necklace once. I had left it at his doorstep the day after we broke up. It had meant a lot to me. I close my hand around it and shove it in my pocket.
" He was a childhood friend back in my town. But we drifted apart before I came here. "
She flashes me a bittersweet smile and places her hand on my hand.
" if it was just an old friend then why when I gave it back to you just then did you look hurt for a second? "
I sigh and look back at her wishing the questions would end. But I reluctantly answered her.
" Because I loved him but he hurt me...He was my first love. "
Naiomi's face quickly went from happy to sad and she squeezes my hand.
" Well, now you have all of us as your friends that love and care for u I'm sorry that that happened to you but let me know if I need to kick some ass for you if he comes back! "
I giggle at her and nod.
" Yes thank you Naiomi. "
-A few days later-
A few days go by and soon it was Close to bring Kirito and my match. I changed into a navy blue tank top and baggy black sweats. I was fully prepared to fight any kind of magic user or close combat. I slip on black open finger gloves and pull my long raven black hair up into a ponytail leaving my bangs alone. Once I was ready I step out to see Kirito in his blackball shorts and a green T-shirt he was talking to Kana who was looking flustered up at him holding onto his arm. I watched with my arms crossed until the twins came up to me in union.
" Yuki! Our fight is right after yours and Kiritos and look we were also selected as partners! "
They hold up their hands to show an emblem that had appeared on their hands it was of a moon and sun combined half sun half moon with a circle around it. I smile and congratulate them and Katachi throws his arm around my shoulders as Achi stands in front of me and I smile even bigger as they dote on me.
" Yuki your so pretty why is it that a beauty like you is still single! "
Achi chimes in after Katachi.
" Yeah, why don't you go out with us twins! We don't mind sharing!! "
I laugh and shake my head.
" Sorry, guys my hearts in someplace else. "
( wait what am I saying? )
the words came out of instinct throwing even myself off and they look at me curiously. They say in unison.
" Really?! Who's stolen our Yuki's heart!! We'll gladly fight them to win you over! "
I giggle at their reactions.
-Kirito-
I listen to their conversation as Kana tugs on my arm trying to catch my attention.
" Kirito? "
without responding to her I take my arm back and walk towards Yuki and the twins leaving her alone.
( Who is Yuki in love with? Is it someone I know? )
I stop beside them and they take notice of me and look at me. Katachi's smile grew grim.
" Hey, Kirito have you come to steal our Yuki away again?! We won't let you! "
they hold their fists up and Yuki giggles.
" Ok guys we have to go get ready for our fight we have to be leaving anyways! "
she walks past us and I follow right behind not saying a word till we're outside.
" Yuki do you have someone special to you? "
she turns her head to the side to look back at me.
" well...to be honest, yes. "
she places her finger to her lips while she thought and I quicken my pace as we walk beside each other.
" Is it someone I know? "
she laughs a little and looks up at me.
" why do you want to know are you jealous?! "
I turn my face away from her.
" No! Don't flatter yourself! "
she punches my arm but I act as if I didn't even notice.
" You big meany Kirito! How could you be so cold sometimes..."
she pouts and we bicker back and forth.
-Yuki-
Once we reached the waiting area for the contestants I look around at the different people trying to figure out who we were going to be up against but can't seem to spot anyone who looked like the photos that were on the screen. Just then a young man came up to tell us it was our turn. We walk out together and across the stadium stood a girl with multi neon color hair that was in pigtails and big bright pink eyes. She looked short and thin, she looked like she was at least 4 years younger than me but her bio said she was actually 1 year older than me she wore a pretty pink dress with white sleeves. Next to her stood a guy who was as tall as Kirito, he has light brown hair that was buzzed on the sides and the top was pulled back into a small ponytail, he has light brown eyes and wore black genes and a black t-shirt. He looked very fit and you could see the outline of his muscular body. I looked up at Kirito who stood next to me and couldn't help but feel a bit nervous I played with the bracelet I was wearing looking a bit concerned.
( I was so pumped for this fight so why am I feeling so doubtful now. )
Kirito whispers to me.
" Don't worry just do what we planned and if all else fails go to plan B. "
I nod feeling a bit more reassured.
" Right! "
