"Your last names Hiroshimae? Are you related to the Shun family?"
*Gulp*
( There's no telling how much of my life this woman already knows if she already knows that much...)
"Yeah they are my half-brother's family, so it's only through marriage that I'm related."
*Inner me cursing myself*
( Welp the truths out now...Kirito is probably now realizing I lied to him the other day. )
-Kirito-
I frown at her words,
( Why would she lie about something like that? Does she not trust anyone? )
She then avoided eye contact with me as Mrs. Natsumi stands up and smiles at Yuki while cheerfully speaking.
"You are so lucky! I hear their heir finally returned home after gone missing for over a year! Now, how is he doing? I heard he was badly injured and that's why he disappeared!"
Yuki's face drained of all color and she grew pale, she lowered her eyes and I could tell something was deeply wrong, though she was still smiling if you looked close enough you could tell her hands were trembling.
-Yuki-
"Oh uh, I'm not sure I'm sorry I don't have much contact with them anymore since before he went missing..."
Mrs. Natsumi frowned a little.
"That's too bad family is everything these days, maybe you all should rekindle?"
Her words were like a dagger to my heart, I was livid and clenched my fist.
( I know that she was just being nice but just the mere thought of 'him' being back and her saying to try to 'rekindle' with that man and his family were enough to make me livid. )
Mrs. Natsumi tilted her head to the side still awaiting my response, I kindly smiled back at her
" Yeah you may be right..."
Mrs. Natsumi smiled again and then walked away to teach the class again. I was left to sit In my thoughts...
( The thought of having a family is nice but I know that that's out of reach for me now...my family was practically gone, and the one responsible for that was my half brother...there is no family now except my mother...)
I sigh and try to not pay attention to Kirito's death glare. I was sure he knew by now that I had lied to him, so I sat there trying to think of what to say if he asks about it later.
After about an hour of listening to Mrs. Natsumi teach she lead us to a large field that had a lot of training equipment. We were then told to line up in a horizontal line while she stood in front of us.
"Ok class today we will be testing out each of your magic's strengths to see where we all stand, the test is fairly simple! You have to make those flowers over their bloom in 3 minutes or less, even healing mages can do this!"
She then points at some potted plants that had been set out nearby.
"Now each of you goes pick out a plant and get ready!"... once everyone had their plants in hand she starts the timer. "
-Kirito-
( Spells like this is novice level 1 if someone can't even bring a simple plant to bloom then there is nothing left for them here...)
I concentrate with ease and hover my hand over the soil, I chant the words of growing and a deep green light appears over the top of the plant
"Grow hastily, Grow healthy, Grow heartily I command thee to bloom in full!"
I smile as the plant then begins to grow, it blooms into a red tulip then it sprouts up more beside the already growing one. Soon it was an entire pot of multicolored tulips.
-Yuki-
I place my hand over the soil and Chant the words, a bright light blue light appears around the plant.
"Grow hastily, Grow healthy, Grow heartily I command the to bloom in full!"
To my surprise it had worked on my first try, I smile big as it continues to grow, a white rose began to bloom, then a red one and soon came more, after a minute a bush full of red and white roses were in full bloom, satisfied with my beautiful rose bush I stand up and look around, there were many different types of flowers growing everywhere, everyone seemed to have grown either a flower or a full bush of flowers.
I look around to see Naiomi watering her one dandelion, it was a rather large dandelion and looked like it could be a stuffed toy.
I spot Suzaku and see all of his yellow tulips, next to him was Kirito who was reading a book next to his multicolored tulips, Kirito's and Suzaku's plants were nearly identical in size but their colors were different, I looked around some more and then finally back at mine.
I raised my hand to my chest feeling a bit guilty for lying to Kirito, I was going to go talk to him but the timer stops me in my tracks and Mrs. Natsumi blows her whistle.
"Alright looks like you all made your plants grow! Some of you even turned them into bushes or more than one flower!"
She looks at me, Kirito, and then Suzaku.
" It looks like these three have the biggest plants here great job you guys!"
She then looks around and spots Naiomi's and walks up to her.
"You are a healer right?"
She nods and Mrs. Natsumi then turns towards the rest of the class and points to Naiomi's plant.
"As you all can see, Naiomi here is a healer by the color of her eyes even Though she lacks in most magic she has great power in healing which is essential for a world like ours! I did not give you this test to just see who has more magic than the other but also for you to see that magic is different in each of us! Even though people who have hazel eyes have little to no power they still can contribute to the world in different ways! Never forget that this world isn't just about power!"
Mrs. Natsumi's confident words were nice to hear I could tell she's not as cold as I thought she was at first, it made me feel better to have a warm-hearted teacher who also thought power wasn't everything.
