Prologue: On the 12th of December -Part 2

"Ro!" called out her brother. "Where are you?"

"I'm here, No!" squealed Ro. "You are going to miss Caviar's fireworks. Come on."

They both entered a tower inside a forest. This night is their birthday. Their seventh birthday. It isn't fancy though the twins liked it simple yet fantastic. Currently, they are on their way to the top of the tower to watch their friend's fireworks go off.

She gasped at the fireworks in their various colors. She hasn't seen anything like it. It was her first time to see one. Noir chuckled at the amazing splashes of colors. Both of them shouted at the top of their lungs, in unison, "Happy Birthday to Us!"

When the fireworks stopped, Noir lend a hand to his sister. "Let's go now. They will be waiting for us back at the orphanage."

"Race you back, No?" Ro happily asked her brother. "Don't be a chicken!"

He hesitated for a moment and then he finally said okay. "But be careful. I don't want to get my only family member lost."

The twins set their marks and counted to three. Noir was on the lead while Rouge was catching up to her brother. Both twins can use their magic but the girl can't control hers. When her brother snapped her fingers and floated, he flew back to their home while she tried to use her magic too knowing that controlling it wasn't her specialty. Ro focused her magic to make herself lighter than a feather. However, as soon as she flew for a half a minute, she lost control of it and splashed to a nearby river. She screamed yet no one could hear her. She could swim. She tried to find a way to get out but the currents were too heavy and fast. She's going to drown. She old herself to never give up. While struggling, she caught on a big rock but the waves came crashing to her once more and she lost hold of the rock. The waves made her hit something hard as she was screaming out for help, and suddenly, she blacked out, lost consciousness inside a dark forest, in a cold river.
