"Name?" The old woman with silver hair asked me with a tone that shows a little bit of anger. What did I do to make her that way? Or is she just really that way? Is this what all the teachers in this university are? I'm freaking out right now on how will I pass my test. Not that I really need to pass it. But, maybe to make my level a little higher than Quinn? Ha! I hope it will be. Or my trainings of six years end in to demolish efforts. Argh! I'm blurting out!
I calmly responded to the old woman after I took a deep breath. "I am Ro Papillon, madam."
"Ah... The orphan from the family." She said continuously as she lifted her reading glasses and looked at me. Ouch. It hurts being called that when we aren't even close. The woman added, "Your examination is with me in the Room 101-Golden Section. Meet me there in an hour."
Wait... I am going to be with her for the examination? Oh no. I actually cannot stand such expression like that from her. I hope she smiles later and forget about whatever she is mad at.
Quinn and Vivian had enter their classrooms earlier while I was left out in the university gardens all by myself. I looked at the tall buildings and then sat on the edge of the fountain. The water is crystal blue and clear. The fishes are alive and swimming. My eyes landed on my phone to check the time, next. It's a quarter to seven. There are a few minutes left. I stood up and toured myself around the gardens. Suddenly, I can hear music coming from the garden of mazes. The song was gentle and heartfelt. I wanted to see who was strumming the guitar and singing. Yet, I dare not go to the maze because in a matter of time, I need to get out and go the the exams.
As much as I tried to control myself, my feet moved to the sound of music following it into the maze. I stopped at a dead end. There is where the music is loudest. I don't know for sure why the music is coming from a dead end when I instantly realized that maybe the end is a secret door. I used my magic to open the door gently. I casted, "Luck Door". My spell could open up any doors that are locked.
The end full of vines suddenly lifted up and I was able to enter. But, my spell couldn't hold it for long and immediately dropped down. Thank goodness that I was able to slip through without getting squished. Hihi.
"What are you doing here, redhead?!" A dark voice surprised me when I heard the music stopped.
I stood up and tried to find who spoke a sound. I found a dark shadow at a tree branch. I couldn't see his face. I explained anyway, "Oh, I was mesmerized by the music I heard. Do you know where that's from?"
The shadow revealed a boy with dark eyes and golden hair. He looks familiar. Maybe I've encountered him in one of my missions? Or maybe from my past which I cannot remember? He stared at me with his piercing eyes. His lips trembled as if he was about to say something. He moved a step towards me, but I moved back. I don't know why. It's reflex, I tell myself. The boy wore the university uniform but he is missing the university jacket and tie. His white polo shirt was unbuttoned near the neckline. He is too familiar. The words are on the tip of my tongue yet my min is blank. My heart skipped a beat when I saw his face. A familiar face. Just who is he?
"It's you. You're still alive," he calmly stated. "Tell me. What's my name?"
What? Is he out of his mind? It's my first time meeting him. How will I know his name? Maybe he really has got something to do with my past. He said that I'm still alive. Did he meant the river accident, the night I lost my memories and was found by the Papillon?
He took steps toward me again. This time, I didn't back away. I stopped and stared at his face. My eyes couldn't stop from shaking and my heart skips beats. He touched my long red hair and smelled it. I couldn't control myself. It's like my heart is going to burst, and I can't move at all. He remarked, "Ro. You are spacing out. What happened to you?"
"You know me." I finally said. "Are you from my past?"
He nodded. He began, "Good. You don't have to remember me again."
"What do you mean? If you and I met years ago, shouldn't you announce your name? I mean, we're friends weren't we?" I stupidly blurted out.
"I can't say that we were exactly friends. You and I hated each other six years ago. Didn't expect you take an exam here, though," he replied and turned his back on me. He was going to leave but he smiled at me before that. "Oh, by the way, thanks for the compliment on my music. You hated it once."
"Wait!" I stopped him as I held his right arm. "At least let me know your name."
"You said the exact words to me when we first met. You really are her." He suddenly chuckled. "Remember the name this time, Ro. If you ever lose your memories again, I won't give you another chance to know my name when we meet again."
"Alright. I promise," I smiled at him.
"It's Dreskar," he notified. "Lucas Dreskar." And the boy opened a portal gate and went through it.
I couldn't say any words anymore. Lucas Dreskar. My mind forgot but my heart didn't. I could tell that he was once a very special person to me. I checked the time on my phone again to see that I am already seven minutes late. I cursed under my breath and wished to have portal magic like Lucas while running to the exam room. Next destination, Room 101-Golden Section.
