ALTER
"Identification papers...?" I muttered. The guard looked at me like I was a fool, then looked at my clothes with disdain. "Oh, you must be a commoner from the mountains, aren't you?" My clothes were quite tattered and with my previous clothes having a giant hole in the center, it certainly would not be suitable to wear to any occasion, matter of fact I would most likely be suspected of stealing these clothes. The guard walked up to me. "If you have 10 silver coins you can come with me to get new Identification papers." I handed him 10 silver to which he replied. "Don't give it to me, give it to the letter forger!" I clasped my hand and put the coins back in my rugged pouch, and followed the man to the 'letter forger', after arriving I noticed a bearded old man who was talking to a person, probably of high rank, as his clothes were embroidered in linen and silk. "I wanted you make papers for my son! Why can you not do so?!"
"Sir Oswald, I've told you many times now, that I cannot make papers for an exile! Your son committed treason when he tried to murder the first Prince. You're lucky the King let you off by killing 5 of your relatives." The old man had said.
"Damn! I'll be back!" After saying so the noble stormed out of the stone building.
"Henry! I've brought you a newcomer to the kingdom, he has the money, could you make him papers?" The guard asked.
Henry looked at me and said. "Leave the coins on the counter by the bookshelves, and come over to the desk with the enchanting table." He walked heavily to the table as if he were exhausted, and asked. "Name?"
"Alter" I replied
"And your family name?"
"Roth." Henry looked at me, with a serious look in his eyes. "Let's not joke around with that Alter, Roth is the last name of his Majesty."
"Roth is still the name for royals? But who?"
"Fredrick Roth, is his name, after King Gwyndoveir and his three sons perished, Gwyndoveir's Brother and second King began his rule."
I see, so that's what happened I thought, and I felt seething anger, to know that my own blood brothers had been killed. "..."
"Is Roth really your family name?..."
"Yes." I replied
Henry was sweating, he looked at the guard and handed him a gold coin, "Don't speak of the events that happen here, and go back to your duties, please..." The guard asked no questions and left.
Henry looked at me. "Alter, I will make you papers with your name but, your family name will be concealed, if the new King finds that there is one of his blood here, he will conscript you as a knight, and you don't deserve such a fate as a young child."
Henry made my papers with haste, while looking over his shoulder frequently, he burnt the letters into the papers with magic.
The card and papers read:
