Violet have no choice, but to do as told, and went to where she was asked. She carried an anti-tank rocket launcher, and hid herself in a thick bush. Meanwhile on Parker's and Ryker's side, they formed a circle with their Shermans frontal armor facing forward, to reduce damage. Then a while later, as they listened carefully, they heard tank tracks, tweaking, the revving of the Maybach engine. Soon after, they heard a thunderous shot of the frightening 88'. The Sherman beside Parker's popped open like a tin can.
From the direction where the shot came from, emerged the black colored Tiger tank that took countless lives since it was first deployed. It came to face five Sherman tanks, despite being alone.
The Sherman beside Ryker made the first move. It fired a shot, only to leave a slight scratch on the thick steel skin. In response, it detonated the Sherman's ammo rack.
Ot was dead silent shortly after. Parker went out of the hatch and called, "Peter! Show me your face, so I can rip it apart!"
A few seconds later, the Tiger's hatch slowly opened, and out came Peter, the commander. He had red murderous eyes, hungry for blood, and an aura strong enough to scare off enemies. He stared daggers at Parker's blue noble eyes, hungry for justice.
"You know him?" Ryker asked Parker. It was his first time seeing Peter, and who would've know that his brother had known him before he did?
"He was a part of Violet's past... " Parker said. Then he went to talk to Peter again, "Allow me to introduce myself. I'm the lieutenant of Charlie company, the same company you murdered a few days ago, Par-"
"Parker Doss... " Peter suddenly said
"So you know me all along...? Must you fear now? Yes! Right now, your facing the greatest man of the war, in a tank!"
"Seriously...?" Ryker thought. But it was all part of Parker's plan, to get Peter's attention away from Violet, who was finding a good spot to take the shot.
Peter scoffed. Then he spoke to his mouthpiece, "Show them the true meaning of fear."
The main gun aimed towards Parker's Sherman, and fired. Parker tried to evade, but the shell struck the tank, and damaged its engine. His speed was cut in half. The Sherman behind him managed to provide cover for him, but got its ammo rack detonated.
All the remaining tanks are trying to buy Violet time, but Peter kept switching positions which gave her hard time. Finally, Ryker's tank fell victim to the Tiger's bite, and Ryker was blown out of the top. Peter didn't paid much attention, and gave Ryker time to escape. After precisely ten minutes, all was left was Parker's damaged Sherman.
Peter went out again to toy with his battered adversary, taking out its tracks and weapons. Nothing did he know, Violet was just a few yards behind him, aiming an anti-tank rocket at his tank, but got no idea how to use it.
"What's taking so long Violet?" Parker thought. Then he spotted her behind Peter's Tiger, having a hard time lifting the rocket launcher to her shoulders.
"Must I show you the true meaning of fear again?" Peter asked
"No, you must fear death from behind... "
Peter turned his head and saw Violet aiming a rocket launcher at his engine, "Turn!" he shouted. Then he looked straight into Violet's eyes.
"I'm sorry... Peter... " Then Violet struck Peter's engine, and was set on fire.
Just before Parker thought he already defeated his enemy, its main gun aimed towards him, and fired one last shot. It blew him off the top of the tank, busting his right leg. He was thrown on the snow.
When he opened his eyes, he saw Violet dragging him away from the scene, "What on earth are you doing, Violet?! You must save yourself!"
"I won't! If you're gone, I'll be alone... "
Parker felt warm with those words. It gave him the strength to walk, forgetting his leg was hurt badly. With the assistance of Violet, they escaped from the forest, and was about to go down a slippery slope of a hill, "Be careful! It's slippery, lieutenant... "
"Don't mind me much... I'm not that weak." he smiled
Just as Parker took the first step down, his leg was shot from behind him. The bullet hit his knee, and the both of them rolled down the hill.
When Parker reached the foot of the hill, Violet was nowhere to be found, "Violet! Where are you?!" he called
"I'm here!" Violet's voice called, but Peter can't see where she was. Peter tried stand up, bit as soon he gained balance, his leg was shot again, and he fell back down.
When he looked back to see who it was, he saw a figure of a man slowly descending from the hill, "Peter... " he thought. But as the figure drew closer, he noticed it wasn't Peter, but someone he doesn't know.
The man before raised his lugger, and aimed towards his head. But before he could pull the trigger, he was stopped by a familiar voice, "Otto, hold it... "
Behind the man, came Peter, not a scratch was on him. Despite his tank was knocked out with him inside, he was unharmed! Behind him, three more men came. One had his entire left arm with major burns, while the other two supported him, "Bring him on his knees... " Peter ordered.
Otto grabbed Parker by the arm, and forced him to kneel before Peter, "Before I bust that head of yours open, let me tell you something... We are always the hunter. You, are always the deer... " Parker was more than just shocked when he heard his words
"How'd he know about it?!" he thought. Then he felt the frozen cold muzzle of Peter's Lugger pistol in his forehead. But before he could ever pull the trigger, a faint, weak voice stopped him.
"That's enough!" Violet came running towards Parker, and shoved Otto's hands away. She then embraced Parker tightly and glared at Peter, "How could you!"
"How could I...?" Peter suppressed his emotions, and tried to stay cool, which is hard, "I think I should be the one asking... "
Violet remained quiet. Peter knew he wasn't able to hold himself for long, so he turned and left along with Bismarck, Gustav, and Kurfürst. Otto remained, "Little Pat, why...?"
Because of the cold weather, and for some other reasons, Otto blew off steam and patched up Parker's injured leg, "Try to be in his sight again, you're dead meat... " Otto told Parker in fluent english, then he left. Violet cried in Parker's arms until she fell asleep, "It's ok, I'm here, I'm here... I won't leave you alone... " he consoled her.
Late at night, the snowfall became harsh, and the both of them have no shelter. On the corner of his eye, he saw Peter's tent, so warm and cozy, "It's cold... " he thought. Beside him, Violet was shivering violently, "I'm sorry... "
Minutes later, Otto came. He brought a blanket and two pieces of bread, "Take it... " he said
"T-Thank you... " Parker forcefully said
"I'm not doing this for you." Otto replied. Then he covered Parker and Violet with the blanket to keep them warm, "You better take good care of her. She's my little sister. My sweet little sister. If anything happens to her, I'll skin you alive!" he warned before he left
Parker woke Violet up, and fed her until she'd eaten her fill, "Thank you... " she said
"Are you cold?" he asked
"Not anymore... " then she returned to sleep. He kissed her forehead before going to sleep as well, "Sleep tight, my little Violet... "
