"After two days of riding the waves, they arrived finally on the United States of America. It was Violet's first time stepping on foreign soil, and was quite nervous, "Don't be so scared, the war's over. You should be smiling right now... " he comforted her
Still, she kept on clinging unto Parker's arm, as he greeted several friends, that he left before he was deployed, upon reaching the docks "Who's she?" some of his female friends asked
"Oh, she's my beloved Violet... " he said, "Hey, introduce yourself!" he encouraged her
"Hi, I'm Violet Musgroove... "
"She's shy... " they laughed
"Yes, she's quite shy. It's because it's her first-Ow!" Ryker kicked him from behind and cleared his throat to remind him of something, "Oh, yes! She's shy because she wasn't used to people she doesn't know! That's all!"
He almost forgot, they were hiding her true identity. It's the Germans that dealt a lot of damage to American troops, taking lots of lives. If anyone gets to know she's one of them, she'll be in trouble, "Oh, is that so? I'm sure she'll get used to us!" they smiled at her.
"They're friendly though, try to get used to them!" Parker said to her
"Mmm... I'll try."
Thirty more minutes of traveling, they stopped by a nice large bungalow, "From now on, make this place your home." he told Violet
Then an old woman in her fifty's came running towards the main gate, "Master! You've returned!" She happily greeted
"Master? Who's she?" Violet asked
"She's Mrs. Lockwood. She was widowed by the war, and for some reason, she was also rescued from Normandy a few months before we discovered you. She's already old, so I decided to send her here, to care for this bungalow of mine." Parker explained
"Master, welcome back! Oh, is she...?" the old woman was about to ask about Violet
"She's going to be the future Madam of this home... " he said holding Violet's hand
"Oh! I see! The Master, finally got himself a fine young lady." she smiled at Violet, who turned red all of a sudden
Just as they entered the gate, Violet felt someone was missing, "Where's Ryker?" she asked. Then Parker pointed at another bungalow next to theirs
"There he is..." Ryker was standing in front of a house, that seems to be untouched, "He just bought that house, that is supposed to be his' and his family's home. But they're killed in the war, and there's only him to live in that house."
"I would want to keep that bungalow of his' tidy too but, the gates are locked. Oh, that poor second Master... " Mrs. Lockwood said
Then they sadly watched Ryker enter his house alone, and on tears, "Is there anything we can do for him? I'm sure there is... " Violet said
"No, leave him alone for now..."
When they entered the house, not only it's nice on the outside, but pleasant on the inside as well, "I commend you, Mrs. Lockwood. You've made this house better!"
"Oh, thank you Master!"
"My room's on the second floor. Mrs. Lockwood, do you mind-"
"Of course Master!" before he could finish the old lady already knew what he was thinking, and happily went to work.
Parker showed Violet around the house, and gave her access to every room there is. When they reached the backyard, a big canine suddenly pounced on Parker, "Oh, I missed you too, buddy!" Naturally, Violet got a little frightened of course, seeing a dog nearly as big as her, but Parker let her pet the big dog and introduced it to her, "This is George, the guardian of this house, and my best friend." George seems to very friendly, and likes Violet a lot. It only took seconds before Violet also took a liking at the big dog.
An hour later, Mrs. Lockwood came back and told them that their bedroom was ready and showed it to her, "Wow, it's wonderful!" Violet exclaimed
"I'm glad you like it, Madam... " she smiled
"Oh, do you mind showing her in the neighborhood? I was about to but, I think I needed a shower." Parker said to the old lady
"I'd be happy to do it!" replied the cheerful Lockwood
She took Violet by the hand and show her around the neighborhood. On the opposite corner of the road, two figures are lurking in the shadows, "Oi, Peter! How long do we need stay in here?! We already lost them! Have you any idea how this bag of yours is so damn heavy!? "
"Quit complaining, like we have any place to stay?!"
"I saw a rental apartment on the way here. That should be enough!"
"Do you have money, huh?!"
"Heh, I've been hiding this from you but... Every dead body you kill, every base you destroy, I've always been looting anything valuable." Then he handed Peter a big satchel filled with a tremendous amount of looted money
"Damn you. You're good at hiding as always, are you? Let's go. My calves are killing me."
A few days later, Parker decided to take Violet on a tour around Boston. He took her everywhere, and Violet enjoyed herself. They strolled on a park all day, took a nice view of Charles river when night fell. On the way home, Violet was a little off, so Parker asked her out of concern, "Violet, something the matter?"
He got no reply, and Violet kept staring at something outside the car window, "Oh, that's H University. That's the best school in this country, and most of the greatest men graduated from there." he explained
Violet looked even sadder when he said those words, "Hey, is there something wrong? Come on, tell me."
"Nothing much. It's that, that I never finished schooling because of the war. I dreamed of becoming a nurse one day, but... Nevermind, none of it matters now."she tried to smile but her sorrow was seen on her eyes.
Parker pretended not to notice it to avoid making Violet unhappy, but deep inside he felt very pained, even just hearing it, "I know what to do... " he thought
"We're terribly sorry ma'am, that you rushed here because of us. Everything was in a haste, and we needed a place to stay... "
"No worries, young man. Anyways, here are the keys." The apartment owner was kind though...
"Thank you ma'am!"
The room was small yet it was enough for the two of them, "Take the bed Otto. I'm fine with the sofa bed... " he said as he slumped his whole body on the sofa bed, and dozed off immediately. Otto didn't do much anything and rested too as well, "It has been a long day... " he thought to himself
Their room was facing the Charles river, so he got a nice view on the window, "So this is a world without war. Its been a long time... " After wandering his thoughts, he fell asleep
Back on Parker's bungalow, Violet just finished showering and was about to go to sleep, when she noticed there was only one large bed on the room. All of a sudden, her faced turned red. Parker was already sound asleep, so she slowly crawled on the other side to avoid waking him up. She then saw Parker's handsome face under the moonlight coming from outside the window.
As she calmed herself down, she made herself comfortable on the bed beside Parker. It was her first time sleeping with a man, so she was very nervous. But eventually, she got herself used to it, and was finally able to calm down
But as she closed her eyes, she felt a large arm trapping her in an embrace. Her heart came pounding nonstop again. Then she looked at the man beside him, as she blushed terribly. Unknown to her, she was getting her face nearer and nearer to Parker's. Only did she noticed when their faces are just about n inch away from each other.
Then she thought of something. She placed her soft, warm lips over his'. After a long while, she ended the kiss, and made herself warm in Parker's arms. For the first time, she felt at ease especially when Parker is around her. Then she went to sleep peacefully
