The next morning in the German camp, "Commander, the 12th SS Panzergrenedier division is going to pass through this position. They told us to hold fire, as they will arrive in an hour." Bismarck said to Peter, "Confirmed... " He replied
"What do you think they're up to?" Otto asked Peter, "There's an enemy forward base a couple of miles north from here. They must be after that, and I've got a feeling they're going to request support from us."
"Are we going?"
"Hell no... "
"I knew it" Otto thought
Precisely an hour later, the SS division appeared, and as Peter said, they did requested the support of Stalvormund and Stefan. Peter refused, so they went off only with the support of a Stug, and a Panther, "We will do only as ordered, to defend this position, and not to go the offensive." He told his men as the the other division left, "But without our guidance, they're sure to be destroyed." Kürfurst said
"Let them be... " Peter replied
"He's mean" They thought
In the middle of the journey, their only Stug stalled it's engine multiple times, while the Panther nearly got it's machineguns frozen. Some of the men are shivering like crazy, they are occasionally making stops to warm themselves. Nothing did they know, an American sniper was watching their every move, and their enemy was already aware of their arrival.
Meanwhile, on the American side, they are now just two kilometers away from the enemy attack force. Doss is trying to turn the tables, and is getting ready for an intense battle. The Germans maybe down at a disadvantage of not being ready against the harsh weather, but they still pose a serious threat. They are elite units, and the Panther isn't something to be looked down upon.
"Pat-No, Violet... " Doss called
"Uh, yes lieutenant?"
"I trust you, that you can help this rifle do its job." He said handing his rifle to her, an M1 Garand, "Uhm, I uh... "
"Violet, let me ask you something; are you a good soldier?"
"I... I... "
"A good soldier, never thinks of his enemies as human beings. It's like the hunter and the deer. You are the hunter. You will always be the hunter, and they are the deer. They will always be the deer." He said, "I understand lieutenant." Violet replied
"Good then. Now get to your position, and show them what a good soldier is!"
"Roger... "Violet responded as she went to her battlestation. Doss arranged his units' positions for both ambush and the defensive tightly. Violet was positioned along with the ambushers, "I am a good soldier, I am am a good soldier... " She kept saying to herself. The other soldiers noticed but didn't seem to mind, and even encouraged her to fight.
Minutes later, the Germans entered their line of sight, and is slowly entering the snowy hell. They planned to encircle the enemy force, as soon as they entered their sight. But just as before they fully surrounded their enemy, the Germans halted. They felt something was a liitle odd. For some reason, they sensed the presence of the Americans and open fired. The few men trapped a couple of yards near the Germans were immediately killed. They immediately retreated but failed when their only assault tank, that never even managed to fire a single shell, was knocked out by the two AT's Doss brought, and the remaining infantry was pinned down.
They called for help from the Stalvormund multiple times, and was rejected multiple times, not until the tenth time when Peter reached his limit and finally agreed, "You better damn wait, we reduced our speed to half, because we're short on fuel!" he yelled at them.
Violet, despite being overwhelmed by fear, managed to kill four SS soldiers with four consecutive shots, "Not bad Violet, keep it up!" Doss said from beside her. Then, he noticed something was a little off, "Where's the Panther?" This alerted everyone, and was set on guard. The Panther was already missing right before the battle started.
Then a while later, they heard an engine rumbling. Out of nowhere, the mighty Panther appeared, and flanked them, then took out one of their AT's. But it didn't last long before the other AT destroyed its tracks, and was overrun then knocked out.
The fierce battle continued until Doss spotted a massive dark figure of a tank appeared from the horizon. He ordered the only AT to take it out, but the shell landed just in font of the unknown enemy. Together with ball of fire from the explosion of the shell, it mysteriously disappeared. There was a moment of silence from both sides.
The next thing that happened was they heard a thunderous gunshot, followed by a high-pitched whistling in the air. All of a sudden, the last remaining AT blew up to bits. Doss noticed Violet was shivering in fear, and was covering her ears, "What's the matter?" He asked
"It's here...!" She said
"Who?!"
"The true hunter... Is here!"
Then appeared from behind the battered German infantries, a black Tiger tank, and fearlessly charged towards them. It mercilessly took out every hostile living being. If it weren't for Doss being around, Violet would've been killed. She turned pale in fear, and nearly fainted, "Where are the other AT's?! Where are the rangers?!" He yelled, "They've just arrived sir!" Then he looked up in the hill from where he was and saw three more AT's and a large number of rangers.
But just before they even set foot on the battlefield, the Tiger appeared behind them, took out the three batteries with its main gun, then sliced through the rangers' fleshes with its machineguns. It was a scene of unimaginable carnage, like one of those really disturbing horror movies that wouldn't put you to sleep for a week.
Doss, carrying Violet, who was slowly losing consciousness in his arms, managed to escape from the rampaging beast. But before they could be gone of sight, Violet and Doss managed to cross glances with the tank commander, Peter. Violet, through the blurry haze, tried to find out who the man was, and was more than just shocked when she saw who it was, "P-Peter...?" she weakly said before losing consciousness.Peter was no more than shocked than she was, that he halted rampaging for a minute. He only went back to his senses when Doss shot his arm. Doss and the remains of his men miraculously survived and fled.
Of the three hundred men Doss brought, only some fifteen, including him and Violet, only went back in one piece. Peter singlehandedly murdered all the rest.
"What on Earth happened to you Peter?!" Otto scolded Peter as he was patching up his injured arm, "Patriciaane... She was alive, Otto, she was alive... "
"Did you hit your head on the hatch? She died years ago!" Peter fell silent, and looked outside the hatch to where Violet escaped, "Patricia... Why?"
