"P-please don't leave me a-again." I sobbed into his embrace, clinging to him with all my might.
"Sorry." Helping me up he held my hand as he guided me out of the alley. Holding onto his hand I stumbled after him, head held downwards as I was still crying and wiping my face of them.
-Bump-
I had just walked straight into Aaron's back and I was slightly upset, but when I looked up I noticed he had led us to and Inn call Aris Inn.
"I got us a part-time job for just this week. They're paying you double than me because of your singing all night. Also for you, only drinks are free to help keep your throat quenched."
I stared at him in a daze and nodded my head as if though I knew what he was saying. Even though we've gotten to the point where we can communicate with each other, he still amazes me when he uses such big words.
Walking into Aris Inn we immediately checked in with the owners and began to work.
After singing for around 8 hours, not including the 10-minute breaks in between each hour, I and Aaron earned 1 iron coin and a big copper coin.
Handing my coins to Aaron I grabbed his hand and we walked out.
We walked out to a small patch of the tree that was maintained inside the walls when Aaron began to pick up his pace.
He stopped abruptly because before we stood a man and looking behind us there was another.
"Heeeeey~ kiddos hand over you coins. You don't need them." Then he looked at me while licking his lips. "Never mind, boy give us your money AND the girl. We'll take real good care of her."
"Jill close your eyes."
I didn't question him and listen to his stern voice. I clenched my eyes shut and placed my hands over them to add and extra security.
"What are you going to do kiddo? You try to play he-"
His voice was cut off very abruptly, a scream could be heard, then two thumps followed. Not long after copper and iron filled my nose.
Aaron grabbed my hand once again and yelled at me to keep my eyes closed when I tried to open them.
Soon I heard the slight sound of trickling water but still held my eyes tightly shut.
"You can open them now."
Opening my eyes I noticed we were by a stream, shifting my gaze towards Sage I notice a crimson color on his shirt. Then glancing down at my own I began to tremble.
Blood.
I shook like a leaf in the wind.
"Jill you're okay." Sage grasped my shoulders and shook me trying to get me to calm down.
"B-b-blood." Tears started to pour out my eyes once again. I don't mean to be a crybaby but I couldn't stand blood. Blood reminded me of far too many terrible memories.
"Jill."
"Wha-" I glanced up and before I could get my answer out his mouth was upon mine. It was a gentle peck but it still got me to calm down.
"Jill you're going to be alright, I promise."
