A week flash by and right now Mikayla is in the Blade family castle. Carrying the twins for a stroll around the castle until he and the twins meet with Ronald.
"Mikayla, it has been a while. I heard a lot about you," said Ronald with a smile, but Mikayla knew that the smile is just a mask. A chameleon that able to change with its desire.
"Ahh, yes," said Mikayla without paying to much important to Ronald.
Ronald didn't mind Mikayla attitude. "The hunting this year will be merrier. I heard many humans from human continent are imported in."
"Really! That is great then," said Mikayla while trying to bypass Ronald.
"Probably you will meet your friends during the hunting," said Ronald with his usual smile hanging at his mouth.
Mikayla stops "If my friends are one of the prey, I will be the one to hunt them first. It is better to die to a familiar hand," Mikayla continues walking.
Ronald smiling face change. He clenches his fist. From his informant, Mikayla missed his homeland and requesting a lot of delicacy from the human continent. He didn't like Mikayla, no matter what reason he is being adopted it does not change that his Uncle Alaric dotes on him so much.
Before this Alaric did not has any heir and didn't have any wife or beloved. His Duke title is rumored will be passed to his nephew but seeing Mikayla now it can be said the Duke title might go to Mikayla. Alaric has been holding the title for thirty years and he will be passed the title sooner or later. Mikayla's status in the family is guaranteed by his great grandfather so nothing can be made if Alaric chooses Mikayla as the next heir.
"Are you going to be alright?" asked Mikayla.
"Of course, father is very touched that you care about me," said Alaric.
They are standing in front of a big door that leading to Night Chamber. This chamber is a special chamber for going into deep sleep. Alaric wants to break through as a Grade S vampire. If he succeeds he will enter the Demon Society, an organization especially for Grade S and above. Once he is approved by society, he has to let go all his position that connected with the public like the Duke title. Demon society focus on protecting the continent from strong invaders and any attempt that might destroy their population. They are the last defence for this continent. Gregory, Alaric's father also one of the Demon Society personnel.
That is why the rivalry is strong and Mikayla presence makes all the one that covert the Duke position displease. They have plot nicely but a small little ant suddenly barged in front of them. Since they were unable to use Mikayla as an excuse to get the Duke title then they are getting restless that Alaric might hold a grudge and pass the title to Mikayla.
"Make sure to wake on time, I don't want to wait for hundreds of years," said Mikayla. He remembers a certain fairy tail in his previous world.
"Don't worry your father will wake up after two weeks and at the time I will be a Grade S vampire," said Alaric with confident.
Stella that in Mikayla's embrace struggle wanting Alaric to hold her. Alaric holds her for a while before entering the Night Chamber. All of the family that gathers in front of the chamber slowly walk back to their room. Ronald stares at the big door and then towards Mikayla. Mikayla pays no heed to Ronald.
Entering his room and gives the twins to Miranda, Mikayla sits and drinks tea that being pour by Rinne. Jason is not with him, he is with the other six servants. The second moon already showing itself, dark blue is the moon colour. It looks like a second eye that waiting to open and destroy everything that it sees. Mikayla did not feel very comfortable with the second moon energy. The hunting ground for the Blade family this year is in the forest at the Gargoyle Mountain.
Hunting day, all the Blade family member assemble at the front of the forest. Mikayla stand a bit further from other with Rinne beside him.
"Look here, it is Mikayla," said Eliot.
"Eliot, leave him be," said Eric.
"All of you just coward, that time I was unprepared," said Eliot with smug on his face.
Eric and Finian trembles when seeing Mikayla, they didn't forget the sensation of being a prey under Mikayla gaze before. Eliot faints after being push and didn't feel those pressure. He still harbours a grudge because of that incident. Eric and Finian is talking to Eliot so that he forgets his revenge.
Ignoring his cousins, Eliot utters a few sarcasm towards Mikayla but Mikayla just turns deaf towards Eliot words. He is looking at the map of the Gargoyle Mountain. He scans every of the family members so that he can remember their aura. It is a precaution in case something that happens with Zuri before might happen with the Blade family. It not that he can't sense the hostility from some vampire.
The hostility is strong, not a childish one like Eliot gives out. He afraid tonight will not go smoothly for him.
"Hey! Rinne makes sure to guard the twins carefully," said Mikayla.
"Yes, young master. Please take care of yourself inside the forest. I believe they will make their moves against you tonight." said Rinne.
Mikayla nodded and when the big bell ringing all the night creatures begins their hunting. All the prey tremble listening to the bell. It means their lives are in the stake right now. Mikayla follows the first groups and enters the forest. The night still early and they did not see any prey yet.
Mikayla's group moves further into the forest and he sees a shadow moving between the trees. It is getting darker as the trees blocked the moonlight and unlike the vampire, he can't see in the dark. The shadow did not produce any aura that means it did not has magic power. Probably a prey. He is chanting a spell that allows him to see in the dark for an hour.
Mikayla gives a signal to the others, all of them disappear in the dark and the shadow moves thinking that they have left that place. All of them waiting patiently for the prey to get out from its hiding. The shadow moves again but this time there seems to be another shadow moving from the tree.
Then, from the tree comes out two servant human, one male and one female. Mikayla knows that they are servant based on the collar on their neck and the white dress that they wear. The group are elated. Their first prey this night. They are licking their lips and start attacking. The servant notices them and throws a ball and the ball shine as blinding as the afternoon sunlight.
The nearest vampire scream because the light burns him just like the sunlight. Vicente, a young vampire unable to resist the sunlight retreat to the back. The stronger vampire moves to the front and shields the younger and weaker vampire at the back from the light. They receive slight injuries.
The servants run away into the darkness.
"Don't chase them, stay in the group," said Ulises. The others in the group halted pursuing the servants and moves back towards the group.
Vicente skin is burned severely. They can smell the meat burn. The others grimace seeing the burn. The ball of light is lethal because it resembles an afternoon light. They pour healing potion into Vicente's mouth and Ulises chant a healing spell and heal the burn. With the healing potion acting inside and Ulises healing spell on the outside, in a few minutes, Vicente recover.
Ulises gets up and the others gather in front of him. Mikayla stands beside Vicente and supports him because his face is paler than the normal. Probably the attack is too shocked for him.
"Everyone, it seems the servants has some weapon to fight against us. From now on make sure to wear full robe. We can minimise the injury if the same thing happens," said Ulises.
"Ulises, how can a mere servant have a weapon? They should not be provided with any weapon," asked Rina.
"That is true but I also did not know what happens," said Ulises.
"Then, should we continue with the hunt?" asked Mint with a timid expression. He did not like to hunt. He is content with drinking blood that has been provided.
Ulises and the other vampire glare at Mint with their red eyes. Their red eyes glow in the dark like a monster that ready to devour anytime. Mint step back and gulped. He has asked a bad question.
Hunting on the dark blue moon is to strengthen their instinct and absorb the moon energy as many as they can. The moon energy can help them breakthrough into a higher grade.
"He just asking. No need to get angry," said Mikayla. Mint eyes cast a grateful sign towards Mikayla.
The others finally calm down and they continue their hunting. They become more alert and cautious
because if a mere servant able to throw a weapon, what kind of weapon will be throw when they encounter a civilian.
Two servants are running as fast as they can and show a happy face when they saw a small red grass on the ground and quickly pick the grass. Then, a hole appears under the tree and the servants jump into the hole.
"Welcome! You are save here."
