Mikayla and his new group members begin their hunt. After one hour of searching, they found a group civilian. They didn't beg for life or crying. Their eyes full of determination and they start attacking. It looks like they are the one in contact with the vampire hunters. They surprised the vampires with a light ball. It makes the vampires jump back to avoid the light.
Federica didn't retreat but moves straight towards the light balls and trap it into a bottle. The bottle is pitch dark and no light is out. She able to stop the first waves of light balls but the civilians throw the balls non-stop and make it is harder for the vampires to attack them. Mikayla takes out his sword and silently observe the civilian. Which of them will be his prey tonight?
"Die! You monster! I'll make you regret being born in this world."
"Take out the gun and aim at their heart. With this light ball they unable to get close."
Two of the civilians take out their gun and begin aiming towards the vampire's heart. Federica and the others smirk hearing the conversation. Are they stupid? We may not able to get closer but that does not mean they will stay still.
Federica and the others stay out the range of the light ball and wait patiently until the light balls are finished. They are enjoying the beautiful light. It is rare for them to enjoy the sunlight. The weaker vampire can't stay too long in the sunlight because it is draining their magic power. Without their magic power to shield them, they will directly turn into ashes. So, the light balls aren't as dangerous as it seems and the reason the human manages to injured them is because of the surprise attack.
As long as they did not enter the light ball range they practically save. The civilians shot a few silver bullets but it gets deflected by the barrier around the vampire. Federica controls one of the bullets and shot it towards the civilian at the leg. Her smile is mesmerizing under the light.
Scream echos from the civilian. As expected the light balls have finished and the civilians notice that none of the vampires are injured and they seem to be relaxed on the tree. They finally realise how foolish they are. They thought with the light ball they are omnipotent but they just a bunch of human with a toy.
"Attack!"
The vampires jump from tree and dive towards the humans. The injured civilian is the first prey for tonight. One of the vampires capture the civilian that injured his leg. The civilian tremble and slump down to the ground.
"Not fair! You got him easily, it is Federica that injured him."
"Federica! You would not mind, right?!"
"Take him! He is not my target."
"See! Wahahahahah, he is mine."
The other vampires grumpily leaves and chase the civilians. There are only six civilians but there are fifteen of them. It is not enough to feed all the vampires. They have to share but who is going to get the biggest share it is up to them.
Mikayla joins the hunt, he wants those civilians head. He took out his sword and gives a chase. He slowly blended in the dark. He has been targeting one particular civilian. He runs and he catches up with his prey in a few seconds. His prey notices that Mikayla is nearing.
Mikayla's prey suddenly stops and he throws a light ball towards Mikayla. Startled by the light ball Mikayla stop and cover his eyes. The light able to blind his eyes if he didn't protect it. The prey didn't use his time to run but start laughing.
"You probably thought that we already out of the light ball and start running. Well, you're wrong. Dead wrong! Hahahahahahaha. Die! Die!"
Mikayla feels that laugh is very annoying. He dashes towards his prey with his sword and swing it vertically. His laughing prey stand in the middle without moving as if Mikayla's attack is not lethal. Before Mikayla's sword touches his prey, the prey moves to the left and forward. His step makes him directly at the left of Mikayla. The prey grabs the sword and throw him down. His sword is in the prey arm. Confuse and dumbfounded. Mikayla directly gets up and moves away.
"Nice sword."
Mikayla tries his best to stay calm. This prey is very cunning. Slowly he begins to moves to the right. He will enter the forest and hide. The prey smile at him. Mikayla feels goosebumps, that smile is same just like when the vampire smile at their prey.
"I never thought to see you. At first glance, you look just like them but you are not a vampire."
The prey moves closer towards Mikayla. Seeing that Mikayla runs into the forest but his foot halted when the prey is at his back and the sword ready to slice his neck.
"You're a hunter!"
"That is correct. So, the killer is a young boy. I wonder how you're able to kill him?"
"You mean the head? Yeah! I kill him so what? Want to take revenge for him? I'm afraid it is not easy."
Mikayla spread his wing and couple with the wind blast he push the hunter to the back. The sword slice at his right side throat and he almost lost his head. Mikayla already prepare and crush the healing candy that he hides in his mouth. That healing candy is a special healing potion that is given to him by Jason. As long there is a breath he will be saved. Knowing he has the candy he took a risky move and manage to escape from the hunter grabs.
Mikayla runs into the forest and uses the darkness to hide. The hunter that blasted to the back is sitting on the ground. He looks at the sword that dripping with blood and this time he is the one that dumbfounded. Never in his life, to meet someone like Mikayla. When in that situation many people tend to stay cautious and try to negotiate but his opponent actually slices his neck and run.
Panting, Mikayla is resting under a big tree shadow. He takes out a camouflage talisman put it on himself. His injuries heal but the blood loss is taking a toll on him. With a shaking hand,
Mikayla take out a blood potion and drink it.
The hunter is searching for Mikayla. He did it easily. The bloodstain betrays Mikayla. Mikayla is focusing on running and neglect his dripping blood from his neck. The hunter is an experienced hunter, he found Mikayla under the tree. He sits on the tree branch and observing Mikayla with interest.
Mikayla rest for a while. He observes his surrounding but didn't see anything suspicious. He leans on the tree and accidentally saw the hunter. He keeps quiet and control his facial expression. Mikayla only saw the hunter aura sit on the tree branch. The hunter is confident that Mikayla unable to see him and relaxed on the tree.
Mikayla feels his heart racing. The same trick can't be used twice. Knowing that the hunter stronger than him, Mikayla brain is working calculating how to get out from this situation. Mikayla remembers something. It is a special talisman given to him by Federica. Mikayla search his pocket and crush it.
The talisman release a strong energy and Mikayla feels he is full of energy especially his leg. The hunter clicks his tongue. He jumps and want to grab Mikayla but Mikayla already disappear from that place. The hunter hand only touches the wind. Mikayla is running with his all his might with the help of the running talisman.
The hunter starts his chase. He will not let Mikayla go. The hunter shows a serious face and runs as fast as Mikayla. He already at Mikayla back in a few seconds and he tackles Mikayla down. Mikayla gives an elbow to the hunter but realise that the hunter body is coated with silver armour. Mikayla grimace from the pain.
The hunter gets up and steps on Mikayla legs and brake it. Mikayla screams from the pain.
"Now you can't run. I will take you to see our leader. I'm sure he will be happy to see you."
The hunter holds one of Mikayla's hand and drag him into the woods. Mikayla punches the hunter hand but to the hunter, it feels like mosquito bites. Annoying. He caught the other hand and crush Mikayla's finger bone. Mikayla screams and retract his hand. His teary eyes are like rain watering the land as he being drag by the hunter.
