She stepped back a few steps, her entire body pressed against the door panel. When she looked up and saw who was standing in front of her, her face turned pale!

Qin Nanyu was an outstanding graduate of Jiangcheng University. The three professors at the dinner tonight were all considered his mentors. After the dinner, he didn't let his assistant see them off, but personally drove the professors back to Jiangcheng University.
When he parked the car at the faculty building, he remembered a technology related to computer data improvement that Professor Fan had mentioned during the meal and instinctively wanted to check it out in the lab.
Who would've thought that just as he reached the lab building, he discovered someone had triggered the lab's alarm.
He rushed in like an arrow, intending to catch a thief, but never expected to see someone who should not be here.
"Weitian, what are you doing here?" Qin Nanyu's eyes turned dark, and his brows furrowed.
Was she the one who triggered the lab alarm?!
"I... I just... I wasn't..." Ji Weitian stammered, too nervous to form a complete sentence.
She hadn't expected her carelessness to underestimate Qin Technology Group's anti-intrusion system, which instantly set off the alarm, and now, she was caught in the act by Qin Nanyu.
If it were someone else, perhaps there was room for discussion, but Qin Nanyu... if he found out it was her who triggered the alarm, he might just report her!
At that point, she wouldn't be able to explain herself even if she had a hundred mouths.
"Weitian, speak!" Qin Nanyu took a step forward, propped one hand against the wall beside her, and looked down into her eyes.
His overwhelming presence made the air around Ji Weitian seem to close in the moment he approached. She thought she was about to be hit and hurriedly covered her eyes.

As Ji Weitian spoke, for the sake of authenticity, she put aside her distaste for Qin Nanyu and nestled into his chest, clutching his coat like a frightened little rabbit.

The last "so scary," it was uncertain whether she meant the ghostly figure or Qin Nanyu was scarier.
A faint scent of gardenias wafted into Qin Nanyu's nose, and that indescribable familiar feeling came rushing back again.
Just as Qin Nanyu was about to say something, a beam of light shone on his face—
"Who goes there? Raise your hands!" The patrolling campus officer, hearing the alarm, arrived at the lab building, shining a bright flashlight on Qin Nanyu and Ji Weitian.
Seeing it was a man and a woman embracing, they immediately scolded.
"So late, and not back to the dorm to rest, hiding here for a date, which department are you two from?!"
Upon these words, both Qin Nanyu and Ji Weitian jolted and stepped back a few steps, pulling away from each other.
They exchanged a glance filled with mutual disdain.
A date?
Even if every man on earth disappeared, she still wouldn't date Qin Nanyu.
