Chapter 79 - Chapter 78 Gruesome unknown future

It was a windy night, and the windows are all closed. The moon is shining brightly. Kishi realized that it was very beautiful from there. It was full and bright. The blue moonlight passes through the glass windows, radiating over the beautiful flowers.

Kishi drifted his gaze and closed his eyes to sleep. Kira might be right and he can't deny that he felt that way before, but now is different. Sometimes, not knowing anything is the best. To live in lies yet happily. They don't know why people hide things from them, but they won't do it without a reason. He learned that with personal experience, and he doesn't want to experience it again. Even if he had to cover his eyes and ears for it...

The week had been over and the three of them are once again back in school. Everything had also been back to normal except for Airi's complaints about hearing voices in his head.

A lot also happened at Magic high while they were gone. And Akamura already realized that his real-life status won't work out this time and begun to desperately raise his ranks. The teachers also held a meeting regarding the previous incident.

"I believe that we should level up the children's powers to maximum" said Lian, their magical creatures' teacher.

"We cannot do that! Not when they barely mastered the basics of wielding weapons!" Protested Yue, their weapon wielding teacher.

"But aren't they good enough? Their talents are sky high!" Lian argued.

"Yes, that is true, but their skills are still sloppy. One wrong move and they might die!" Yue proclaimed.

"But--"

"Both of you are correct, and we really do need to raise these children's protection. However, trusting their lives to themselves are not an option." Their Magic teacher, Minru stated.

"I do agree with you" Amili said. "Those brats can be really reckless sometimes, and they tend to do things on their own. No matter how powerful they can be, they are still children after all.

"Then what solution do you propose then?" Lian questioned her.

Amili looked at all of them first before she sighed. She looked at Minru and the latter straightened his glasses before he answered.

"I'm afraid, we have no solution regarding this matter" The others gaped at him.

"Once again I agree..." Their attention shifted to her "Those children attracts too much trouble. They also go on dangerous adventures for fun and excitement. It would be convenient of they would always stay here at school where there are less chances of being in danger, and with the teachers to watch over them, as well as if they obediently stay at home under the watch of their parents. Alas, convincing them to abide by those rules would be near impossible"

"There's no hope for us, huh?" Yue sighed.

Amili nodded before turning to Amy. "Mo--I mean dean, what do you think?" she asked.

"We have no other choice but to have faith. Doing a second generation of the Elite-class with these lot was a big gamble. Not only because they all sons and daughters of elite families, they are all also quite extraordinary. Most of them posses too much magic for their age, and have spectacular talents. Condensing them all in one place like this is like putting a herd of bunnies over a large net."

"Things are happening pretty quickly" Minru added. "Sooner or later, the news of the Sacred realm's resurrection will be known throughout the land of Harmonia. And the fact that most of them are mere children would sure to spread as well. The danger that threatens to use all these children's power might come as well. Who knows how long we can protect them from that...?"

"That is uncertain." Amy answered "As of now, we are already lacking of man power. If we were unlucky, things might get worse than it is now. The children won't be able to protect themselves, and we the adults won't be able to protect them."

"If their powers got in the wrong hands, what might possibly happen to this world?" Lian nervously said, biting her thumb nail.

"That's just one of our worries..." Amy reminded her.

The children tried hard to listen to their conversation, but the teachers are very cautious and made sure they wouldn't hear anything.

The changes they did to the school rules are also taking effect. Just by walking the hallways, being caught up in a fight happens a lot, as students bombarded each other with magical projectiles, making the school explode into pieces almost every day. The damage is easily fixed though, but wandering around is like making your way through hell.

It was already late afternoon and the whole E-class was at the library. As always, their library wasn't as crowded as the other one, but there are still many students there from the first classes.

While reading a book and doing their homework, Bubblegum sat beside Airi, away from everyone else. Airi dozed off while writing some essay about elves and he managed to finish five pieces of paper, but is still half way from finishing. Seeing that he was sleeping so soundly, Bubblegum chose to let him sleep.

The darkness surrounds him, Airi felt so terribly weak and powerless. He felt suffocated as he falls into everlasting darkness, as if sinking down a bottomless ocean. Opening his eyes, he saw the light before him, but no matter how far he outstretched his hand, he can never reach it.

Just when Airi was on the brink of giving up, a bright light shown before him. And before long, the everlasting darkness was filled with thousands of thousands of glimmering stars.

Surprised he looked around. He was no longer sinking, but floating. A majestic golden lion appeared in front of him where the previously brightest star was once were. It gracefully bowed to him, its golden mane fluttering in the gentle wind.

"Airi...."

He turned to the voice behind him. And there was a bright light before a figure began to take shape. Airi can't really define whether it was a human or not, but it was a man of all gold, all his hair, skin, clothes are all shining brightly like gold. He had this big crown in his head and he wore long robes, and a long and gigantic sword in his hand. He was a beautiful figure sitting on a throne. With his head resting on his free hand, he beamed at him.

"It's been a while" He said

Confused, Airi stared at him. "Pardon?"

The man merely grinned and stood up. He glided towards him and placed his hand on top of Airi's head as the latter looked up to him.

"Child, one day, you will understand"

The man started to fade away, and Airi looked back at the lion who's also starting to disappear. The light of every star around him dissipated one by one. And once again, he was falling in the darkness.

Airi abruptly woke up from a nightmare. He straightened himself up and rubbed his eyes; yawning. Bubblegum looked at him with a worried look on her face, but didn't spoke up.

"Crap!"

Realizing that he dozed off while doing his essay, Airi quickly went back to writing, looking back and forth from his book of Magical creatures, checking if he wrote the right things. He didn't notice Bubblegum and the twins, not even Rex and Lune as they took side-long glances at him. But all of them are wearing the same expression that he cannot understand.

As he continues to write, he wondered. He was clearly dreaming of something, but he can't remember anything. He didn't like it, and he didn't know why, but he was so sure that it was different from the same dream he and Kira had previously.

No matter how much he pondered, he really can't remember anything. He finally decided to give up as he sighed and just focused in finishing his homework.

Unbeknown to him, the others around him are uneasy about all that's happening. Unlike him, they knew everything. While he was asleep, a glowing mark appeared in his forearm. They can also sense an abnormal surge of magical energy coming from him. It was a magic that doesn't naturally exist in the world. A unique gift that may bind him in chains forever. Something that might not happen if things happened differently.

His future is going to be full of hard choices. His first hard choice might happen sooner or later. It is whether he would choose his real family and live on with the past forever, or whether to live with his friends against the future. Either way, it won't be easy.
