"The three of you won't be going back to school tomorrow, Li told me so. She said that you must've been going through a lot that Amy-sensei allowed you to have a leave of absence for the rest of the week." Neon informed them
"Wow, how convenient" Airi said sarcastically
"Airi, you should be grateful, at least you don't have to worry about school problems for now."
The children thought differently. They find it much more agreeable if they had a large pile of homework and lot to do to help them get their mind off of everything, rather than sitting in the mansion doing nothing.
"How about giving Kishi and Kira here a tour around the city?" She suggested, as if knowing what they were thinking.
The three of them exchanged glances. Airi looked back at her again before he sighed in resignation.
"Fine..." He turned back to the twins and said, "Looks like it's finally time for you to know the human world"
"idiot, we already know about that" said Kishi
"In the books? Yeah, right..."
And so, the three of them decided to finally go out after locking themselves up in a room for quite a long time.
In order to not catch too much attention, they wore casual clothing. Kira is wearing a simple laced light-blue dress with white sleeve, a pair of white stockings and flat shoes, and on her hair was a matching white laced light-blue ribbon.
"You know Kira, I've been meaning to tell you this, but why do you always dress like a Lolita?" Airi asked
Kira pouted, "Meanie, it's not my fault that I'm cute"
Kishi on the other hand, was wearing black shorts and a light-blue and white colored long sleeved blouse with a ribbon on his collar and black boots. He looks somewhat...feminine.
Just like Kira, he dressed either elegant, or cute. No matter how simple the clothing they wear, they would always look so cute and fashionable.
Airi wasn't happy with this at all. He dressed himself with a white T-shirt, red and black jacket, and shorts. Unlike him, the twins aren't wearing casual clothes at all. And although he looked good in his outfit, the twins are more eye catching, and was probably didn't make any difference when they are wearing their usual elegant attire. They actually feel like a beam of light that catches everyone's attention!
Airi can't help but sigh. "Oh well, it's not like anyone in the city knows you two yet."
Airi took out a black ribbon from his pocket and wore it around his neck like a choker. As soon as he did, the pink color in his hair's tips vanished and his hair looked plain golden-brown.
"Airi"
"Mm?"
"Your hair, isn't blonde nor dark-brown" said Kishi
Airi touched the tips of his hair before shrugging. "dunno, I was wondering about the same thing. Rose clan's hair color was usually dark-brown with black tips, and blonde with pink tips, but mine was neither. I don't know, maybe some distant ancestor had the same hair color."
"Why bother wearing disguise anyway?" Kishi wondered.
"So, we don't get ourselves into trouble. And also, so the citizens won't suddenly kneel in front of us or beg us to help them, or discus some problems to us just because their impatient to wait for the city council and the family head to deal with. I mean, are they actually expecting things to be solved in an instant? If they only knew how much work comes in everyday and they knew nothing but to complain"
Airi kept muttering things but the twins just pretended they weren't hearing anything. Airi was still in a bad mood, and asking that question was a bad idea.
The butler that was suppose to accompany them arrived and made a graceful bow. His arrival stopped Airi from his muttering but he was annoyed with the butler's appearance.
"We made all this trouble to disguise ourselves like this, and yet here you are wearing that uniform then what's the point?"
"Eh?"
The poor guy was shocked but Airi got a point. The uniform he was wearing was unique to only those who was serving the Darkrose family. He even wore a badge that has the family's crest on it that made him even more obvious. Even with the three of them wearing disguise that helped them not to get notice, with the guy alone accompanying them, the only thing the people need to understand who they really are common sense!
"My apologies Young Lord" With another bow the butler turned around and left.
Shortly after, he returned back to where they are, but now wearing casual clothes such as a coat and jeans. He bowed to them again before gesturing their leave.
Outside the mansion, the sky was clear and bright. The children found it blinding because they literally locked themselves inside their room and closed all curtains to block the sunlight. It was also a bit windy that day. It was almost hard to believe that they were having such a bad time.
Walking around the busy city streets, the twins felt uneasy and kept looking around wearily.
"Too many people" Kishi mumbled to himself.
"You've been in school almost every day. Shouldn't get used to that already?"
"Being in school and being out here is lot different" he replied
Looking at them, Airi just sighed. Even he himself doesn't like being outside and around many people too much. How much for them?
The three of them did everything they wanted until the end of the day. They mostly went to have some deserts, and played around with some games. All they wanted was for the day to be over as soon as possible.
It was already late in the afternoon, and they are walking back to the mansion. It was also then when Kishi realized that his sister wasn't holding his hand anymore. When he turned around, Kira was nowhere to be found.
"Kira..."
With the help of the butler, the two of them went everywhere searching for her. After looking around in different places, it was already sunset when they met up in a ghostly street where there are only a few people walking around.
"No luck here" said Airi
The butler also shook his head. Feeling a bit hopeless, Kishi took out his pendant from under his clothes and held it tightly. He closed his eyes and focused, searching for every bit of presence around as far as he can. Unfortunately, he found nothing.
"Kira, where the hell are you?" he muttered, feeling exasperated.
Just as when the tension between the three of them are getting stronger, the butler spoke uneasily.
"Er--"
"What?" Airi glared at him.
"I-I heard a rumor going around...." the poor guy said, making the two boys look at him. "it says that certain Young masters are tormenting a couple of girls again, in an ally at fifteenth district...if I remember correct."
The boys then shot daggers at him. "You should have said so earlier!" Airi scolded him.
The butler merely bowed and apologized to him. Though Kishi and Airi ignored him and started looking around in every alley.
Airi was first to spot the right place. It was a dark alley, the few people who was walking around was deliberately avoiding the place, not wanting to get involve. The two of them entered followed by the butler. Deep within that place on the darkest part, three teenagers that looked like high-ranking people are tormenting a girl, slightly younger than them, and Kira who was standing behind her while holding the end of her shirt. From the looks of it, the girl was protecting her from those tugs, but she was clearly defenseless against them.
"Bitch! You have such a foul mouth there, huh? But I bet that beautiful body of yours will taste good, if you pay us with it maybe we can let the two of you off."
The girl was utterly disgusted. "You wish" she spat.
