Back in the year of XX49, six years ago. The whole guild is at reunion. That day as well, was our fist step in the guild, and our first meeting.
Everyone was very excited, though we are very shy since its our first. But still, knowing we are all on the same page, we played happily in our parents watch. I was only four when that happened. I was taken aback by how we all interacted with each other even if I already expected it all to happen. It was very fun and it seemed to have eased my pain a little.
Lune was already very fond of reading books and he's also very quiet, but still fun to be with. Rex has always been playful, and does whatever he wants. Myth was...well--having some bit of issues and can't remember things well. But Airi was different when I first met him.
I saw him, resting his head on Aunt Neon's lap as she sat and spoke cheerfully with the adults. I came to him and bent my knees a little so that I would be at his eye level.
"Wanna play with us?"
I asked him cheerfully, trying my best to look friendly, but he didn't say anything. Instead, he turned his head against me, and of course, I was really embarrassed to be refused like that. I thought, I didn't look friendly enough or, maybe I look way to creepy. Aunt Neon merely smiled at me with her gorgeous pink eyes, when my face turned all red.
"Airi, why not play with her?"
She said, patting his head softly. But unfortunately, he said nothing. Deeply embarrassed, I rushed to the others.
We children are always prohibited to listen to our parent's conversations, or even to enter the room they were in. But they allowed us to do anything we want, or to wander around the mansion, which serves as our guild hall with only our nannies to look after us. However, Airi was different, he's always in his mothers' side, sticking to her like a glue that most of us can't help but call him a mommy's boy. He's very smart, quiet, and sometimes a bit to wary. Due to the things we've been through, as children, we always keep our guard up and build some sort of invisible barrier to keep ourselves away from others. But we could pass through each other's borders without any problems, yet Airi was different. We can't reach him.
We all spend the night there, but Airi still haven't spoken any word. He always just stared at us whenever we talked to him, and turn away afterwards. At one time when he was asked by Aunt Neon if he wanted to eat some snacks, he just nodded. When he was asked what kind, he just stared. And Aunt Neon just confirmed whether it was pudding that he wants, as if she read his mind, he just nodded.
It was frustrating! How in the hell did she just understand the meaning behind that look of his! Everyone also agreed at me at that point, jugging with their disgruntled looks. He also ate with perfect manners, that surpasses all of us, even Tsusu and Chiesu was upset, and the two of them was the eldest among us! I sighed, he's totally a weirdo, no one can deny that.
By the next morning, I was totally in a bad mood. Aunt Neon was also outside, watching over us as we play in the garden. But once again, he was resting his head on her lap, while she was knitting. The garden was very beautiful, the air smelled freshly of grass and lovely fragrant of flowers, and the sun was shining beautifully above us. I walked to the shade of the cherry tree on that beautiful spring day where the mother and son pair sat. I knelt in front of him, and I felt the cool grass touch my bare knees. I asked him to play with us once again but he already refused before I even finished.
Utterly angry, I held his arm and pulled him up, and dragged him away. I can't contain it anymore. He's so unfair! I thought we were all friends, that were a big family. Yet why? Why was he refusing us?! My chest felt stuffy, and I thought I might cry. I was walking so fast, I can feel Airi having trouble keeping up and tripping over the twisted roots of the trees as we passed through the forest, while I was still holding him tightly in the arm.
When we reached past all the trees, we found ourselves by a cliff. No one seemed to be following us, I have guessed Aunt Neon told my nanny not to follow me. I pulled him with all force, then grabbed his collar to keep him from falling off the cliff, which is at least one-hundred-fifty meters high, and rapids at the bottom. I looked at him straight in the eye, then that's when I noticed how beautiful his eyes are. They are bright pink, with a little tinge of gold. There's something special about it, I don't really know what, but maybe its because his border was keeping me from understanding what that look meant. But even so, my anger had not eased, but grew even worse
"Why? Why do you keep yourself away from us? I THOUGHT WE WERE FRIENDS!!! I THOUGHT THAT WERE A BIG FAMILY!! BUT WHAT'S WITH YOU?! WHY DO YOU KEEP REFUSING US?!"
he gave no answer
"TALK TO ME!!! I SAID TALK TO ME--"
"Bubblegum, let go of me"
I was put to a stop immediately. I was the first time I heard his voice. It was cool, and very calm. I let go immediately, and took a few steps back. He fixed his clothes and cleaned of some dirt, then he just looked at me with the same eyes.
We went back after then. I never heard his voice again. He also still refused to play with us until we all went back home. Our play time became often though. We came to the guild hall just to play thrice every week, but with only with our nanny's or butlers to accompany and look after us since, our parents are often busy with work.
But our jealousy for Airi grew even more. Unlike us, his mother was always with him, which is very annoying.
At one time, me and Rex, persuaded Lune to join us in little adventure. The three of us looked for an opportunity to catch Airi and make him join us. At last we found it. He was asked to stay at the library by Aunt Neon because, she has to get him something herself. He obeyed her without any complaints, but little did he know, we are just at the corner, looking for an opportunity to caught him off guard.
Just as planned, we took Airi with us, and left the mansion without anyone noticing. We walked pass the large gate, where at the top of it, the guild's emblem was placed. Sadly, we are all too small to see it, and our parents never showed us what it looked like.
The three of us was marching happily along the forest, while we blocked all chance of Airi running away, that made him very dissatisfied. Enjoying ourselves, we stumbled upon a big group of people what looked like soldiers. They were all armed, and wore armors, and white cape with a clover like symbol imprinted on it.
What we saw filled us with curiosity, we moved even closer to get a better view, but we made a big mistake
"Who goes there?!"
