The music enveloped the room with grace. The elegant white room just vanished by the first note, and then they were all in the middle of a dazzling forest. Beautiful and gold, the light shines beautifully above them. All the other creatures and animals settled to listen to the melody which they heard. The music sounds so cheerful yet it feels so sad. The magical place looks so perfect, the melody had consumed them all.
The hand on Kira's head was cold, but she felt so warm. Kira looked up and saw herself grinning at her. She blinked and recognized the empty smile of her dear brother. His rose-gold eyes gleamed brightly at her. His look was all empty, yet she felt it comforting.
The door opened with a BANG. Sychi entered the room, while everyone just stared at her.
"Your late for breakfast!!" she said, then left again.
The children were dumbfounded, time sure passes quickly. The twins looked at each other again, then Kishi helped Kira close the piano lid and the fallboard.
"hmmm....I still don't get how the food here taste different" Rex said twisting the fork in his fingers
"I guess it's because of how they cook it" said Airi "I reckon...it's made with magic"
"Not surprising" Lune said bluntly "I mean, do you expect fairies to hold knifes that are bigger than them?"
This statement has rendered them silent. The next thing they knew is that the door flew open and they were all utterly shocked.
Mouths fell open, they all looked at the man who just entered. He was still in his youth. He has blonde hair with pink tips, his eyes were rose-gold, and he was also shocked to see that the children were there. Kira rose quickly and embraced him.
"Uncle Meijin! Its nice to see you again!" she said
He said nothing, but just patted her head. The boys are still staring at him with a rather malicious and curious eyes.
"I demand an explanation" Airi stated
"So do I" added Rex
"Heh heh....right..."
Meijin could feel the cold sweat drop from his face. Why does it have to be him of all people, he thought. Meanwhile, Sychi was at the kitchen, acting all innocent. Amy on the other hand, was laughing herself out.
"Why? What's wrong?" Kishi asked out of confusion
"Its weird when you don't get it. The thing is, this guy is here and that's the problem" Rex pointed rudely at Meijin
"Rex...." Meiji called out to him
"Just tell us your secret already! I'm so getting sick of this!" Said Airi
"Alright, alright...let's not be hasty. Kira, could you let go of me for a moment please. Thank you" He took a deep breath then said "I shall tell everything I know to you, but lest move to a more appropriate place"
He snapped his finger, then the palace seemed to have disappeared. Kira could feel herself swirling, her head is getting dizzy. She closed her eyes, then she felt a strong wind coming from below. Her hair rose, and she held her skirt tightly so it wouldn't flip. When the wind and swirling stopped, she opened her eyes and found herself on a hallway.
The children looked around. The hallway is full of paintings and portraits prominent peoples. A red carpet was on the floor and, chandeliers hung high in the ceilings. Kira moved closer to Kishi and held his hand. Airi however was surprised to see where they are.
"This is....the Cursed Dragon's guild hall, our guild hall...."
"Over here, boys and girl"
Meijin entered an important looking door, followed by the children. Inside it was a dark chamber. The children heard Meijin utter light, then several light crystal torches suddenly lit themselves and revealed a prominent looking place. Just like hallway, it was full of pictures, but more important looking ones.
The room was big and there are several others, but there is this one picture that took all their attention. It was framed with gold, carved with roses and swords, placed not far from the entrance. The picture has a woman with blonde hair, with pink tips. Her skin was fair and she was extremely beautiful and kind looking. Beside her a man with snow-white hair, and he was very handsome. In front of them was two children, a boy and a girl who look exactly the same. They have snow-white hair just like the man, and fare skin like the woman and they also possess extreme beauty. Together they sat on a chair, smiling gracefully. The girl is cuddling a four-tailed fox toy, while the boy leans slightly at her.
The children looked bewildered as they looked at it, but Meijin only smiled.
"That's my late sister and her family" Meijin told them
"Your late sister?" Rex asked
"Yes, the truth is, her existence was kept secret after she and Jen died nine years ago--"
"I don't remember having a--"
"That was taken in two different places, Kishi"
"Uncle, why are we here? Who are these people" Kira asked him with confused and fearful tone
Meijin just smiled at her again, "Kira, those two are your parents. My elder sister Amira and Jen, second prince of the Sword Slayer Kingdom"
Stunned by the sudden news, the twins just held each other's hand tightly. They born together and grew up together, not knowing anything about the outside world. No one told them about their parents or even that they have one. Or rather, they didn't ask about it, or maybe too ignorant to even care. They were contented to have each other that, that kind of thought didn't even pass through their mind. Yet now, its about time they face reality. Standing in front of their picture, the two of them became curious, as of why they had lived their lives in a palace far from their parents' home, and why are they not here by their side any more.
