Chapter 58 - Shot Through the Eye, and You're To Blame

Without waiting for York and Eden, Ivy sprinted towards the next cargo before stopping in her tracks. Two massive Mech stood between Ivy and the next cart.

"Kill them."

"Likewise," Ivy responded before pulling out Oathkeeper and firing at possible weak points.

York stood beside Ivy and sighed. He only had a sword and shield, and while it may be helpful, it would only hinder him in this fight.

One of the Mechs charged at the two of them, but before it could even reach them. A small charge of electricity started blasted into the Mech's chassis, disabling it.

Hearing the sizzling and sudden increase of heat besides him, York knew Ivy was not wasting time. He rushed towards the disabled Mech and slashed at its joints, destroying it in the process.

"Eden now!" York shouted.

On cue, Eden appeared on top of the second Mech and thrust a massive silver blade into the cockpit of the Mech.

Ivy didn't wait for the brothers as she headed towards the next cargo and disabled the senors. She crossed the nineteenth cargo before she heard a clank.

She turned around to see the cargos that she passes was disconnected from the train. No longer in used.

"York! Eden!" Ivy shouted. Before they responded, Ivy, shielded them from the blast and was knocked off her feet a little.

'Son of a bitch!' Ivy screamed in her mind, she felt her demeanor slipping a little. Ivy took a deep breath before continuing. She believed that York and Eden were alright, in fact, she knew they were okay. It was just a matter of how long they could last.

--------------------------------------------------

"Ma'am, it seems like the Neko is alone. We should disconnect the cargo she's on and--"

"No need, keep an eye out for block cade. I'll deal with her myself," Roman smirked happily. She was gonna have some fun dealing with her kitty.

Roman walked out of the control room and towards the nineteenth cargo. Of course, she passed Perryington and Delta. She ordered them to go back to the control room and make sure that everyone is doing their job right.

--------------------------------------------------

"Epsilon, time," Ivy asked.

"T minus five minutes before encounter," Epsilon responded. She wasn't apparent and was hiding inside of Ivy's mind.

Ivy pulled out her M6G magnum and Celestia's kunai. She needed to make sure she had everything ready and not a single second wasted in changing a form.

Ivy ran past a considerable amount of metal crates. Still, she didn't notice a person sitting on top of one before she flipped back to avoid being shot.

"You're quite in a hurry to stop this train," spoke a familiar voice.

Ivy turned to see Roman sitting, with her cane between her black pants. "Roman."

"Ai, no need to be so harsh on the name," Roman smirked. She got off the crate and walked up towards Ivy.

Ivy had to strain her neck to see Roman's eye. She could see that Roman planned on something, and most certainly planned on wasting her time.

"Why are you doing this?" Ivy posed.

Roman closed her eyes and lifted her head, she chuckled lightly, "To get back what's was suppose to be mine."

Ivy tilted her head, but instead of getting more information, Roman immediately swung her cane at Ivy's legs.

Barely reacting in time, Ivy was able to jump out of the way before drawing her kunai. She knew that the area with a bit enclosed than most of the previous ones, easy close-quarters.

Roman was swift, and her reflexes and six sense was incredible. It felt like a challenge that Ivy loved. Someone at the same skill level. Ivy started to smile, but that smile wasn't a saint. It was tainted with blood and gore.

'A dark side that seems no one has seen until now,' Roman noted to herself. Although she looked like she was deal Ivy on equal terms. She was having a bit of a hard time keeping up, and Roman knew that Ivy would see her missteps, her open windows, her flaws in skill.

Zhump.

Roman's figure disappears in sight as Ivy was just about to get a definite hit on to her torso.

"Easy now, I just got this clean. Besides, I think I wasted enough of your time, hehe," Roman's laugh quickly knocked some sense into Ivy's psychotic mind.

Ivy ignored Roman and opened the door to the next cargo but instead of crossing. She jumped off.

--------------------------------------------------

"York! York!"

"Gah...what the hell?" York groaned. His entire body ached. York's weapons felt more substantial than usual.

"Lilith?"

"He's fine, no internal bleeding nor external, a few bruises is all," Lilith said confidently. She had her sniper on her back with her pistol on her right thigh.

"What happened?" York groaned, he did not feel right.

"Our train along with Rose, Lilith, and Professor Scarlett, were all blown sky-high," Eden said. "Ivy created some sort of barrier around us to block out the explosion, but it couldn't withstand the other explosions."

"Where is Ivy?" Lilith suddenly asked.

"Most likely trying to get to the control..." Scarlett deliberately pauses to see if her brain was processing the same thing as her eyes were. After confirming what she saw, Scarlett corrected herself, "Was going to the control room, but now she's on the tracks."

The whole team froze and looked at Scarlett. They were all thinking the same thing. 'Ivy is what?!'

"Seems like she's gonna try to use her strength to slow down this train," Scarlett concluded before dodging a Boarbatusk roll. She quickly ended the Boarbatusk with a swift and lethal kick to the groin.

"Alright, everyone grab your things! We're moving!" Rosalina order as she helped York on his feet.

Lilith and Eden started running ahead of the group while Scarlett stayed back in case any monsters try to attack the students. York and Rosalina were trailing closely behind the two.

--------------------------------------------------

"Your plan is insane," Epsilon said. "I'll make sure there's a signal for help."

"Contact BRAVO, they might be able to help right now," Ivy ordered as she increased her speed.

She was currently keeping up with the train; in fact, she was gaining up against the train. Ivy's plan on stopping the train against herself was insane but insane enough that it might work.

Ivy could hear cargo doors opening, guns aimed at her. She wasn't going to let this be the end. She closed her eyes and pressed down hard against one of her feet, making her image flash out of the way.

In a short amount of time, Ivy was able to make it to the front of the train, being slightly ahead of it. She paid attention to how much room she has between her and a wall.

"BRAVO team is currently on their way, pinpointing our location," Epsilon informed Ivy.

"Make sure you send a medical team with them," Ivy said before turning to her right and bracing her body against the high-speed train.

Ivy felt the Kinect force almost breaking her system. She gritted her teeth before adjusting her footing. Ivy created two massive mana hands to help slow down the train.

Ivy's process was slow, and she needed to move faster, there was no doubt that she and the wall are closing in. Ivy pulled back her left fist and slammed it into the train's front, making a dent. She continued to punch in the front until she could see the wires and electrical currents moving. Ivy grabbed a fistful of cables and tugged on them until she pulled them out.

Panting heavily, Ivy could hear the train slowing down. Ivy removed the two mana hands and held out both her arms to slow down the train even more.

Over in five minutes did Ivy stop the train completely. She was covered in sweat, and her mechanical parts were damage to shit. Ivy looked at how much room she had with the wall. About three meters from the wall.

CRASH!

--------------------------------------------------

Warning, the next part may get gore and bloody. You have been warned.

--------------------------------------------------

"Incoming hostiles," Epsilon warned. "Recommend disengaging and hide."

"That's not going to work," a robotic voice spoke. Suddenly, a surge of electric energy blasted Ivy off her feet.

Ivy looked up to see a robot, the same two guys that held her, and Roman. She wiped away the blood the slipped through her mouth before preparing to fight.

The two muscle guys engaged first. Ivy dodged both their attacks and stabbed on through the back, almost connecting it with his heart. Ivy was then knocked back, leaving the kunai stuck in the guy's back.

Ivy quickly drew Oathkeeper and charged at the two men. She didn't pay attention to the robot charging up another electric blast or Roman aiming at her.

"IVY!"

Breathing in the scent of blood, Ivy's mind went blank. Her movements stopped before she had a crooked smile. She summons a double edge heavy sword and cut down the first guy, slicing him in half. Blood spurted onto Ivy's body, coating her skin in dark red.

"Who's next?" Ivy spoke sinisterly, her voice deep and harsh like a serial killer.

"You."

Before Ivy had time to process what happened next, her body was launched backward, colliding with the hard ground. Ivy felt a searing pain on her face. She couldn't open her right eye; in fact, she could even move her right eye.

Feeling her blood pumping and her mind slipping, Ivy felt something surging with passion. Ivy was lost.

--------------------------------------------------

Roman smiled at seeing Ivy down on the ground, though she would most likely regret this decision. Business was business, but she failed her job this time because of Ivy.

She ordered the two to get everyone off the train, except she had to teleport to avoid being shot at. Roman looked at where Ivy was laying except, Ivy's body was up, and she was emitting great killing intent.

"Error, unknown source of power. It...it's over nine thousand!" Delta exclaimed. The bot was already running away, but it was quickly ended with a dark hand wrapped around the robot and crashed into pieces.

"What the hell?!" Roman yelled. She turned to see Ivy's body covered in a dark shield, her only eye open turned white. Her body was pulsing with something dark.

The other muscle guys tried to attack Ivy, but his fists didn't get anywhere close to Ivy's body before getting obliterated by the black shield, blood splatter across the tunnel walls.

Roman teleported away before Ivy could even attack her. There was no way in Hell Roman would fight a monster like that!

But it did lead her to think about one thing, she caused this. She was to blame.
