Chapter 59 - Demon Blood Donation

"Status?" Violet shouted as she and her team rushed through a small opening they made in the concrete wall.

"Not fucking stable!" Rosalina responded. She currently applied pressure to Ivy's right eye while Lilith was healing up some small cuts.

"What the hell happened here?" Brain demanded. He knew that Violet received a call from Ivy, but the details were brief and vague.

The rest of Team RILEY and BRAVO surround the group, weapons drawn as they waited for Ivy's recovery. Scarlett was inside the disabled train, checking if any more threats were hiding inside.

Lilith was trying her best to heal up Ivy's bloody body. Most of the cuts Ivy received were most likely from the train's force against her frame; however, her right eye was definitely from someone. What made it difficult for Lilith to heal Ivy's eye was that the projectile or bullet was still lodged inside her, meaning good news and bad news.

The good news is that there isn't an exit hole that would have to cause a fatal death and massive amount of blood loss, as if there wasn't enough already. The bad news was that the wound could get infected and cause problems for Ivy in the future, and Lilith can't seal it since the projectile is still inside.

"What's her BPM?" Scarlett demanded. She came out of the train with nothing with her but a few new cuts. It seems like her search didn't go so well.

"Untellable, her heart may beat about two hundred or none at all," Rosalina reported like a soldier. She released her pressure to see if Ivy's blood stopped, but it didn't.

Scarlett sighed and walked over to Ivy's body. She knelt down and gently caressed Ivy's head before checking her pulse, then the new scars that have been added. Standing up, Scarlett ordered team BRAVO to disable all the bombs on the train.

"Professor, you do realize that Ivy is not moving, and she's--" Violet tried to reason with Scarlett but was cut off.

"Stop it, Violet, let's move this train away from them," Ada, another girl with BRAVO, spoke. She led Violet away from RILEY, and the two of them climbed onto the top of the train to scout out the train.

"Friendlies inbound," Ivy's AI, Epsilon, appear above Ivy's body and looked around. She wasn't expecting a group of people to surround her. Shy and embarrassed, Epsilon disappeared without explaining her sudden news.

Scarlett ignored the sudden AI appearance and went over to the gap in the wall that BRAVO came through. From the sounds outside, Scarlett widened up the hole and walked outside the wall that hid them from the public.

Two gray Soar High Helicopters landed in the open, one bearing a red plus with 'Emergency.' The side doors opened as military guards surrounded the perimeter, some helped escort the doctors towards their patient.

"Hunter Scarlett," the escort saluted. Scarlett nodded lightly before bringing the doctors into the broken wall.

"How's the patient?" one of the doctors asked?

"Obviously not good, if the patient was able to stop a train going about one hundred and fifty miles an hour. Then they must have had a massive about of repercussions," a snarky doctor commented.

Scarlett ignored the two doctors' bicker; however, her sudden stop made one of the doctors bump into her. Scarlett was shocked to see Ivy barely on her feet, but there was something about her demeanor that just set Scarlett off.

"Is that the patient?" one of the doctors pointed. Scarlett looked over to see Dr. Nightwalker with the group. Although his appearance was questionable. Scarlett didn't care.

"Yes, it seems like her team is helping her or transporting her into the train for the time being," Scarlett spoke before raising her voice. "Rose! Lilith! Bring Ivy over here!"

Rosalina and Lilith turned around and sighed relief. They carried Ivy over to the group of doctors, but Lilith's reaction was unpredicted.

Seeing Dr. Nightwalker, Lilith's motion was suddenly turned to stone. She was seeing her creator again. Lilith still didn't develop a barrier that kept her body from feeling weaken every time she saw him.

Rosalina felt a sudden increase of Ivy's weight on her side. She looked over to see Lilith's body shaking and practically quivering underneath someone's aura.

"Dr. Nightwalker--*cough cough*--what a pleasure see you," Ivy's voice was dry and barely sounded like Ivy herself. Ivy's right eye was closed shut while her left was slightly opened.

"I see you lost another thing, come," Dr. Nightwalker motioned Rosalina and Lilith to move forward.

The group of doctors and soldiers walked back through the gap, while Scarlett called BRAVO and the remaining squadmates of RILEY.

--------------------------------------------------

After the mission, Ivy was taken to the nearby hospital to be taken care of. Lilith wanted to go and stay by Ivy's side, but she had to meet up with the Headmaster personally, along with her teammates.

Violet walked up to Lilith and asked, "What exactly happened to Ivy? I doubt she would be reckless enough to get herself into that much danger."

Lilith looked at Violet, she kinda resembled a little sister worried. Lilith smiled inwardly before replying, "I'm not sure, but from what it seems. Ivy was able to slow down the train to a stop but must have been caught in a messy fight between the ring leader and a few of his puppets."

Violet looked down, her head hung low before whispering something into Lilith's ears.

Lilith's eyes widened after hearing Violet's words.

"Don't tell anyone, even Ivy," Violet finished.

"Why?"

"Because Ivy doesn't like being tracked, but I have an odd suspicion that she'll try to go somewhere alone," Violet said before hearing her teammates call for her. "Cya!"

Just like that, Violet ran off to her team and into the helicopter they took.

Lilith looked at the medic helicopter to see multiple doctors examing and doing tests on Ivy's body. Taking blood samples and micro x-rays to ensure that nothing major was broken.

"Miss Lilith, may I have a word?" Dr. Nightwalker walked up to Lilith. He had his hands stuffed inside his science jacket pockets.

"And that is?" Lilith crossed her arms over her chest.

"Ivy needs a bit of blood, her current blood amount is meager. And since most human blood would not sustain Ivy for long, I need some of your blood," Dr. Nightwalker said. Although it was a bit risky to ask, all that he said was true.

Human blood inside a body with demon blood would be devoured in a matter of seconds.

"Doesn't she have human blood? Or Neko blood?" Lilith asked.

"See if I knew that, why would I be asking for a donation?" Dr. Nightwalker glared at Lilith.

Lilith rolled her eyes and followed Dr. Nightwalker, she sent a massaged to Rosalina that she'll be needed for the medic for awhile before she can join in the report.

Lilith was seated into a chair with her left arm lying flat on the rest. Dr. Nightwalker felt around Lilith's arm before preparing it to undergo extraction.

Lilith tensed up. She never had blood removed from her body. Dr. Nightwalker grabbed a needle and stuck it inside a vein in Lilith's arm and let it sit there for a while.

"So how has Ivy been treating you?" Dr. Nightwalker pulled up a seat and waited until he had enough blood.

Lilith winced at the slow removal of her blood. She stared up at the ceiling lights and answered, "She's lovely, kind to the bone to be honest. Although, Ivy does have this shield around her heart and probably even more."

"Heh, yeah. Ivy does have a beautiful heart. Sometimes I regret experimenting on her, but I knew my Semblance was right," Dr. Nightwalker said.

"Semblance?"

"Predictions, helps me a lot to avoid being killed or really just about anything," Dr. Nightwalker explained.

Lilith was surprised to hear. A Semblance that can foresee the future, it was useful in many ways, but it would most definitely be used in many ways of greed and pain.

Lilith blinked before hearing a ringing sound in her ears. She didn't know where it was coming from, her vision was starting to see stars as her body was feeling light.

"Lilith?" Dr. Nightwalker's voice seemed to echo inside Lilith's mind, endlessly reverberating until she closed her eyes.
