Chapter 60 - Recovery One

After Team RILEY's first mission, words were spread quickly about Ivy's injury. Saying that she was severely injured and needed medical assistant immediately.

Neo and Lilith made frequent trips to Ivy's room, often for checking up on her and seeing if Ivy was awake.

One day while it was gloomy, Lilith made her daily trip to the hospital. Neo already texted her that she couldn't make it today. Lilith wasn't too concerned about Neo's abstain since she knew that Neo has been very busy lately.

"Ah, Lilith, come to see Ivy again?" one of the familiar receptionist greeted Lilith as she walked in.

Lilith nodded and greeted back, "How are you, Jack?"

"Everything is going fine," Jack replied before typing in a few words into the hospital's database. He read the description of Ivy's current status and nodded. "You'll be glad to see Ivy up."

"Thank you, Jack," Lilith smiled before running off into Ivy's room. She was astonished by Ivy's swift recovery though Lilith did help donate a bit of her blood, even though she passed out.

Checking her outfit, Lilith patten down her uniform before knocking on Ivy's door. There was no answer, but she did hear the door unlock and open.

There, Ivy stood with the hospital clothing and an eye patch covering her right eye. "I wasn't expecting a visitor, nonetheless you. Come in."

Lilith sensed that Ivy was probably dealing with the loss of her right eye. Lilith wishes she could help, but she needed for nature to set it course.

Ivy walked back to her bed and sat down. She didn't have an IV inside of her, nor did she had to carry anything around with her. Her face was cold and unaware.

"How's the academy treating you?" Ivy started the conversation. Although she may be injured and in recovery, she wanted to know what has happened over the past couple of days or so.

"Fine, just been lonely," Lilith replied. Her voice kinda sounded beaten. Lilith looked stood above Ivy and gave her a kiss on the head. "You know, your quiet presence is something I miss."

Ivy chuckled lightly before looking up. All she saw was a damage Lilith, though Ivy may have a feeling of how to fix her. The loss was slowly splitting.

"Hey, when I get cleared, let's do something fun together. Just you and me," Ivy said. She looked up to smile at Lilith, which made her even happier.

Lilith came down to Ivy's level and hugged her. She knew that she missed Ivy, and by extreme amount but knowing that Ivy wanted to go out with just her. It made her feel something inside she hasn't felt in a while.

Knock knock.

Lilith let go of Ivy when she heard someone knock on Ivy's door. Ivy got up and unlocked the door before opening the door. Immediately, Ivy was tackled to the ground, which Lilith quickly came over only to see Neo tightly embracing Ivy's frame.

"H-Hey! Neo! You're gonna hurt Ivy even more!" Lilith exclaimed as she knelt down and nudged her to get off. She wouldn't admit that she's a bit jealous of Neo's affection, but Lilith kept quiet about it.

Ivy tried to push Neo off of her, chuckling a little before fully pushing Neo off. Ivy pulled Neo up before wobbling a little.

Lilith helped Ivy steady herself and smiled at Neo. Although she and Neo weren't precisely friends when it came to showing more affection towards Ivy, they were closed as possible as two tsundere.

"Sorry for not coming, I uhh was making something," Neo apologized to Lilith and Ivy. She pulled something out of her jean pocket and revealed a mechanical eye.

Ivy tilted her head before extending her hand, Neo gently placed the eye into Ivy's hand. Observing every nook and cranny, Ivy could tell that this eye was meant to be put in manually and not surgically.

"Thank you, Neo," Ivy smiled before hugging Neo. Ivy then hugged Lilith; she knew that Lilith was always by her side and could even detect Lilith's blood inside of her.

Lilith was caught off by Ivy's hug before embracing Ivy tightly. Neo smiled and hugged the two girls, standing together. All happy to be together once more, although Lilith and Neo were staring daggers at each other.

"I see Recovery One has finally awoken," a male voice entered the room.

Ivy sighed before trying to wiggle her way out of both Neo and Lilith's grips on her. Both didn't hear Dr. Nightwalker's voice, and both try to establish this alpha female dominance.

"I see you're in a passionate situation," Dr. Nightwalker lighten up a little before prying the two girls away, still staring daggers at each other.

Ignoring the two tsundere, Dr. Nightwalker approached Ivy as she sat down on the hospital bed and did a simple check-up before removing the bandage that covered her right eye. "Still in the process of healing, but I think your friend here IF SHE WOULD STOP ACTING LIKE A KID! Could easily heal up your wound," Dr. Nightwalker concluded his check-up while sending a message at Lilith to snap out.

Lilith grunted to back down in Neo's dominance, but she would do it for Ivy. She went over to Ivy and gently pressed the surrounding skin before asking Ivy how it feels.

"It just stings a little, but it does hurt a tiny bit," Ivy replied. She was usually cautious, but Ivy believed that she didn't asset the situation appropriately.

Hearing Ivy's words, Lilith pondered a bit before telling Ivy to open her right eye as much as possible. If she were to use her Semblance, Lilith needed to make sure that she can get every inch of the damage.

Wincing at the pain, Ivy was able to open her eye full but quickly closed it with the amount of air searing the closely healed parts.

Seeing Ivy struggle, Lilith shook her head as she sat down. "I won't be able to heal her eye if she can't stay open for five seconds," Lilith finished before seeing Ivy becoming drowsy.

Before Lilith knew it, Ivy was already lying her head in Lilith's lap. Soundlessly sleeping.

Neo smiled before sneaking her hand in Ivy's hand to take back the eyeball: "I have to modify and change a few things in the coding. Shouldn't be too long."

Lilith nodded before looking at Dr. Nightwalker, who was checking Ivy's pulse and monitors, seemed peaceful at the two.

"I'll be taking my leave girls, sleep well. I doubt the storm is gonna let up its relenting force," Dr. Nightwalker said as he looked over to the window. Water droplets slammed against the window planes while the clouds were raging with tears of recycled water.

"I'll take that sleep with her," Lilith said before watching Dr. Nightwalker walk out.
