Chapter 25 - Ivy and Yuki

"Hey, did you hear about the advance first-years entrance exam?"

"No, what happened?"

"Apparently there was a demon, like a really strong one too. It was able to injured a couple of people, but none of those people died. However, there was this girl who sustained a massive wound from the demon."

"Where did you find this?"

"One of the students from the Newspaper club overheard the HeadMaster talking to someone on the phone."

"Oh? Is that respectfully towards the HeadMaster's privacy?" Ruby said as she stared down at the two students who were gossiping. She could feel her brows twitching from all the talking about the first entrance exam.

"H-HeadMaster!" the two students said in unions. They apologized quickly before running away.

Ruby stared at the two before rubbing her temples and decided to have a chat with the student in charge of the newspaper club. She didn't like the idea of the club posting sensitive information without it being overlooked and accepted. She plans on doing that little meeting later in the day when the club will most likely meet up.

Ruby picked up her phone and accepted the call from the medical doctor that was monitoring Ivy. It has been thirteen hours since the incident, and Ivy's signs do show that she might wake up soon. Ruby could hear the doctor saying some observations about how Ivy's body entirely different than what any human body or cat person body would usually look or have. Ruby interrupted the doctor's rant, "Is Ivy awake or not? Also, I would like a copy of the data you've collected."

"Ah, I'm sorry, Miss Crimson. My apologies. Yes, Ivy is awake and seems perfectly well. In fact, it shocked everyone to see her moving normally with no difficulty," the doctor said as there was a bit of typing in the background. "Do you want me to give clearance for Ivy?"

"Yes, please do. I'll come pick up Ivy later today," Ruby said as if she was a mother of Ivy. The thought didn't pass her mind, but once Ruby ended the call, she exploded in red.

--------------------------------------------------

"So, explain to me who I got to the hospital?" Ivy asked as Lilith was holding her like a doll. She secretly liked the interaction, but she was more confused about how Ivy got here.

Lilith hugged Ivy close before seeing a bit of movement on top of Ivy's hair. She smiled and started to pet Ivy a bit as she explained what happened, "After our encounter with a shadow figure, you, Neo, and I began to hunt around for whatever reason. I think it was to look for a particular object or relic, I'm not sure. We came across a large clearing with ruins, and one of them actually had...uhh chess pieces I believe you humans call them. Anyways, you told us to stay since it was possible to be ambushed, and I think you were confident about taking whatever was thrown at you."

Ivy silently listened as she nodded her head. She wanted to make sure she was recounting the same events. Everything that Lilith had said so far was correct, but why did Ivy feel like there's a massive gap in her memory?

"Turns out, that the surprise you were expecting was a Death Stalker which you took down with ease. During the process, you saved a girl with your Mana barrier and--"

"Wait, I saved someone?" Ivy said, interrupting Lilith's next line. She vaguely remembered activating her barrier against the Death Stalker, but Ivy didn't think she was saving someone. ("Hm, maybe this is how far the memory gap is. Or maybe I didn't realize that I saved someone? I'm so confused already.")

Lilith adjusted her legs as she had Ivy on her lap while the two were waiting for the doctor to give Ivy clearance. She hugged Ivy's waist and slowly started to pet the girl's little cat ears. Lilith then continued the story while petting Ivy, "After saving the girl, I'm not entirely sure what happened as we were attacked by some shadow figures. Neo gave me her point and heard you say something. Then you constructed a massive Mana barrier to confront a dark Mana beam and protecting the students behind you. I think I passed out somehow, but from what Neo was saying, you made, and I quote, an idiotic plan."

("Ouch.")

"So, apparently, you dropped the barrier and took the force of the beam while everyone else was safe. THEN, which I think is even more idiotic, was that you fired dark Mana at the demon! I mean, I think I get what you wanted, but if you use dark Mana with it unintended purpose, then you could have actually hurt yourself. Luckily, you didn't; however, you received a really bad wound, and it knocked you out. HeadMaster Ruby and professor Levy came to help, and they were able to knock some serious damage into the guy. However, the demon started to mutate, and this is kinda where you came back since somehow you stopped bleeding out. So, I was ready to take the mutated demon in a golem form when I heard this loud, like really loud, crack of bones. And blam, I see you up and moving like nothing was wrong.'

Ivy started to think and rack through her brain before coming across blanks. She sighed before closing her eyes and decided to enjoy the pats that Lilith was offering. It bothered Ivy that she couldn't remember, but she sadly couldn't control her body.

The door in the room was knocked before the doctor processed to enter. He was a little bit caught off guard with how Lilith and Ivy were acting before clearing his throat. He smiled at Ivy before doing a quick check-up.

The doctor smiled brighter as he pulled up a roller chair and said, "Well Ivy, I'm glad to say that you are all clear for now. However, I would like to have a check-up...next Saturday."

"Thank you, doctor," Ivy said as she got off of Lilith's lap and shook hand with the man. The man handed her a few pieces of paper that he said to give to Miss Crimson. Ivy nodded and motioned Lilith to come. They waved the doctor away before walking up to Ruby in the waiting room.

"You should be more careful, Ivy."

Ivy turned around to find where the voice suddenly came. She startled Lilith before shrugging off the sound and continued. Ivy made sure to keep the incident only to her.

--------------------------------------------------

It was currently 2000, Ivy has been in bed for a long time before getting out and taking a night stroll. She didn't feel like eating or lazying around. As much as she wanted to know, Ivy still couldn't remember after she passed out.

Ivy sighed as she walked out for a stroll in the night. The temperature was dropping slowly but not enough for the chilling air to shake Ivy. She walked around and enjoyed the full moon, although it was weird, Ivy felt relatively calm.

"Just so you know, those memories after you passed out are mine," the same voice echoed again. "Oh, this is Yuki, by the way. I guess I should have said that earlier, sorry."

("Yuki, huh? Like Yuki the Wraith?") Ivy said in her head, talking to Yuki like she was an ordinary being. She sat down on the night grass and laid back. ("Mind telling me what happened? Or is that a secret?")

"Not really a secret, all it is was me taking over and saving your dumbass. Besides, you should know that dark Mana doesn't have the same effect as a normal being," Yuki said as she rested in Ivy's mind. She wasn't very active, and most of the time, she observed Ivy. Yuki was like a seventh sense that kinda controlled Ivy's body ever so little.

Ivy sighed and looked at the lunar planet. She could hear Yuki take a deep breath and also enjoyed the moon. Ivy closed her eyes, her mind felt complete relaxation, and she didn't want it to go away.

"The moon is really is a beautiful thing, isn't it?" Yuki said.
