Ruby looked up at who she bumped into and panicked a little inside. She didn't expect to see Ivy today. Ruby quickly stood up before dusting herself off and staring at Ivy. The girl didn't seem fazed by the bump and brushed it off like nothing happened. Ruby cleared her throat before saying, "Do you need something, Ivy?"
Ivy shook her head before saying, "I wanted to check up on you. I've noticed you have been monitoring the school grounds and dealing with a ton of paperwork. You have a secretary, don't you?"
Ruby squinted her eyes since she had a very suspicious feeling this wasn't the real Ivy because the real Ivy hasn't been on school grounds for two weeks. Plus the fact that Ruby hasn't monitored the school ground as much as she usually would have. Ruby suddenly felt a light, strong presence coming off of Ivy. Immediately, Ruby knew who this imposter was: it was Lilith.
"What do you want, Lilith?" Ruby said in a stern voice, staring into the fake moon-like eyes. She was secretly irritated that Lilith would do such a thing, plus she should be in her room doing whatever.
The fake Ivy giggled before her appearance warped and changed into the salmon hair, pink eyes, dragon tail, horns, and demon girl Lilith. She smiled before leaning against Ruby, smirking a bit before saying, "Why don't I be your secretary?"
Ruby facepalm before dismissing the idea of Lilith being her second-in-charge. The imagery was already in her head, Lilith a white blouse with a skirt holding a tablet and telling Ruby about the recent reports. Ruby laughed inside before brushing off the idea and said, "I have Scarlet to be my secretary."
"Yes, true, but she may not always be there! I don't have a class to teach here, plus I'm perfect for the job!" Lilith claimed as she tried to reason with Ruby. Lilith wanted to help Ruby because she could tell that the girl wasn't on the friendliest terms with demons.
Ruby spun over and stared at Lilith. "How are you perfect for the job? You just recently came back into the human world, and you immediately take a high position in this school? The way I see it Lilith, is that you should be a supervisor with the students."
Lilith sighed before rebutting with Ruby's contradicting claim, "You just said that I should be a supervisor for the students. Technically, a secretary can easily do that along with taking notes AND doing the work provided. Ruby, just give me a chance. And if I don't do a good job, then you can have...uhh..your temporary secretary to do your work."
Ruby tried to refute Lilith's claims, but she was stuck between a rock and a hard place. She couldn't argue against Lilith's planned attacks. Ruby growled inside before accepting defeat.
"Fine, but if you can't keep up with the work I give you, then you will be fired," Ruby said in a notably bothered tone. She couldn't believe she was letting a demon be her secretary.
Lilith bloomed before snapping her fingers. Her clothing immediately changed into a white blouse and a gray skirt. Lilith couldn't hide her tail or horns sadly, but she could easily say she is from the dragon kingdom, which doesn't even exist. Lilith could see Ruby facepalming before taking a deep breath for four seconds, then letting it out for seven.
"Go into my office, there is a stack of papers about students who have passed or needed to be confirmed that they have failed. There is also another reason you need to see if any of the students will be problematic," Ruby gave out her order to Lilith. Lilith grabbed a stack before giving direction for an empty office for the demon girl to work in.
--------------------------------------------------
It was late at night, almost every student was asleep or getting ready to fall asleep. However, it wasn't the case with Ivy. She was sitting out on the rooftop of the dorm building. Rose already saw her go up and questioned her, but Ivy didn't give a straight answer. Ivy sat down close to the edge and started to meditate.
In cultivating a constant Mana usage, meditating is one of the most useful and efficient ways to do. Just like in ancient Chinese where monks would meditate for longs hours to cultivate chi, Ivy was doing the exact same except with Mana. Ivy was interested in ancient Chinese myths; however, she always found them...perplexing. Some text didn't even make sense. (A/N: I do not know anything about Ancient Chinese texts or literature, I'm having it fit into the story.)
Ivy closed her eyes and enjoyed the late summer breeze. Her mind cleared before entering a state of void. Though she could still sense and smell, it was unlikely that someone would actively try to pierce through a condense Mana sphere.
"You know, I have a feeling we might be talking a lot more," Yuki's voice suddenly sounded.
Ivy deeply sighed before seeing Yuki's body. A pale skin tone with average-sized breasts and a nicely plumped butt. The demon was also wearing a thin white dress, barely covering her body. Ivy simply ignored Yuki's presence as she slowly tried to expand her Mana capability.
Yuki huffed before sitting next to Ivy's still body. She wasn't mad at Ivy, but to simply ignore her was a bit harsh. Then again, Ivy's past is all rainbow and colorful. Yuki looked around, though everything was dark, it was much better than being cramped inside Ivy's mind and having a constant argument with her AI, Omega. Speaking of Omega, Yuki noticed that it hasn't had much to do lately.
"Ivy, are you ignore Omega by any chance?" Yuki asked as she was curious as to why Omega wasn't around Ivy more often. Especially since the girl just got out of the resting today.
There was no reply from Ivy. Her body ultimately still like a statue. Yuki felt a bit lonely since Ivy was ignoring--
"Yuki, I can sense your emotions well," Ivy suddenly said as she opened her eyes with a bit of annoyance. She walked over to Yuki and sat down. "What is bothering you to be with me? Most times, when I'm meditating, you leave me be until the end where we talk a bit. So, what is bothering you?"
Yuki looked down before saying in a soft tone, "I...need a body. Like an actual body I can take over and control. Being stuck in here taught me a few things."
"Really? Yuki the Wraith is learning something about being inside an experimented body. I thought you said you never learn anything," Ivy said with a deadpan face. She was showing no emotion towards Yuki's complaints, but Ivy was a listener.
Yuki pouted before rebutting, "I only said that after you regain control of your body!" Yuki looked away before speaking again, "The only reason I'm asking for a body of my own is that being stuck in here is no fun. You rarely lose control of your emotions, which I feed off, and there is rarely anything I can do. Plus, I don't think it is good to even be in here when you do lose yourself...again."
It was Ivy's turn to look away as she sighed before lying down. Yuki isn't wrong, Ivy knows she is a ticking time bomb ready to unleash a massacre. And with Yuki in her body, it would most likely become a genocide.
"Your words aren't wrong, but how the hell are we gonna separate you from me?" Ivy asked. She can barely remember how Yuki was even present in her system. Was Yuki just forced into her body?
Yuki held her chin before saying, "What about Lilith? She's a demon, and a demon inside a demon makes them a super demon, right?"
("I want to hit you so hard,") Ivy said in her mind.
"I'm still here, asshole!" Yuki yelled in anger. She calmed herself down before explaining, "Since Lilith is a demon, she can withstand another demon being inside of her, as long as she has the will that is. Anyways, Lilith can become even stronger than she is currently. And I get a body where I can roam freely."
"No."
Yuki looked at Ivy with a shocked expression. What was she missing that could convince Ivy to let her go? There was almost nothing that Ivy is gaining from having her here. Yuki stared at Ivy with frustration but also curiosity.
"Lilith doesn't have a strong will. Yuki, I bet that there are a handful of people who can withstand you for a brief time. I'm an extraordinarily special for some reason to have you where you are right now. Like in most texts, a demon inside a human body will not last long. Plus, you were a former Seven Demon Commander, the second strongest," Ivy explained. She wasn't risking Lilith's life for a selfish reason, along with millions of others who would explode immediately by Yuki's presence inside them.
Yuki pursed her lips before disappearing. Through ever prediction she could think of and through ever simulation that she had Omega do, Yuki couldn't rebut against Ivy's logical reasoning. Yuki needed time before she continued, maybe she is lucky. Pfft, luck? Demons don't have luck, they have curses.
