Edmond Lattone's POV
I was pulling Lyana up from the ground after I have kissed the shit out of her that she came. I smirked as I know that I have that power over her. I was looking at her before she was dizzy and she was leaning against me.
"Hmm, I think I would have guessed that you would be like this," I said before Lyana was glaring at me.
"What do you mean, Lattone?" She asked as I was chuckling at her before we were moving out of the bush and I was looking at the mansion. It was night right now and we will be getting in and out in no time.
"So, are you ready to leave this era?" I asked her before she was nodding at me.
"Yeah and I think I would love to get back to my old apartment and—"
"And?" I asked her as she blushed. She cleared her throat before she was pulling my arm to get to the back door before I laughed.
"You still don't answer my question?"
"Which one? It seems that I cannot remember," I said as I was looking at Lyana before she was rolling her eyes at me. I chuckled before we were inside and the other servants were having dinners at the table.
"Ah, new maid and groom. Come, you need to eat," the Cook said as she was pushing us toward the table and we seated next to each other. I nodded at Howard before Lyana was taking some bread and cheese. She was looking for something else.
"Is there any fruit?" She asked the Cook as she was furrowing her eyebrows.
"Fruit? Hah! That was for His Lordship and his guest, we don't have the privilege to get enough food. The bread and cheese were kind enough for us to keep moving forward," the Cook said before Lyana was arching her eyebrow at me.
"I told you. Get your fruit and veggies while you can," she whispered to me before I was chuckling at her. Lyana loved to tell me that she's right all along.
"Eat up, we have so much thing to be done," the Cook said as she was looking at us and I was arching my eyebrow at her.
"What do you mean?"
"Oh, nothing much. We have some revolution that was being planned and tonight will be the time for us to assemble and attack the aristocrats," the Cook said as I was looking at her, stopping at my action. Lyana did the same before I was glancing at her and she was looking at me.
"Tonight?"
"Yes, isn't it exciting? I cannot wait to see those English bastards will be running for their lives," the Cook said as I was eating my bread again when they don't know that I was an Englishman. Lyana was squeezing my knee before I was looking at her.
She smiled weakly before she was pointing at the lords that reside in this mansion. I think I have to tell them. They were my people, and possibly my ancestor if I must say so myself.
"Thank you for the information. We will make sure that we go to support the resistance as well," Lyana said to the Cook before she smiled and we were in silence as I was looking at the food right now.
"I cannot believe it. I came here to experience life, not to be a part of the revolution," Howard said before I was looking at him. What does he mean by that?
I was looking at him before Howard was looking at me. I was trying to understand him but he just shrugged and continue to eat his bread.
If I have to guess how old Howard was, I would say 18 but I don't know. Maybe he was older than he looked. Lyana was squeezing my knee before I turned to look at her and she was pointing at the door with her eyes
Time to get to work then.
I was getting up before the Cook was looking at us. I was smiling at them before I was faking a yawn and Lyana was leaning against me.
"Well, we love to stay and chat but I think I will retire with my wife now," I said as I was looking around the table. There were some murmur and coughs.
"Wait, you guys are married?" The Cook asked as I was nodding before Lyana was smiling sweetly at me.
"Yes, we have been for quite some time now. I'm sure you guys are not aware but he's my world," Lyana said before we were moving the stairs that will lead to Lyana's room for the employment. But we have to make a u-turn since the study room was on the second floor.
"Do you have to declare that we're married. We are not—"
"What? As I recall, we are engaged to each other even though I don't have the ring on your fingers yet but I will once we're out of this mess," I said as I was pulling Lyana to the side before I was pushing her back to meet the wall.
"You know I would do anything for you, right?" I said as I was caressing her side before Lyana was looking at me. Her eyes dilated before I smirked.
"I told you, you're a great seducer and you have caught me in your web, my love," I whispered before I was kissing her and Lyana was moaning. I saw some movement before I know that there was someone that was looking at us when there was a cough interrupted our moment.
I broke the kiss before I turned and I smirked inwardly when it was His Lordship himself.
"Milord," we said before I was pulling Lyana to bow to the owner of the mansion but she was dizzy, so I have to do it for her. His Lordship was clearing his throat before he looked at our intertwined hands.
"Is there something that we can help you, milord? It was not usual for you to come around here," I said as I was pulling Lyana to my side. I know that he was furious as he was looking at my hand that wrapped possessively at Lyana's waist.
"Well, I was hoping to catch Ms. Lyana but it seems that she was preoccupied with something. Excuse me," he said before I said,
"Milord, I hope that you will not come searching for my wife when I was not around? I would hate to know that my wife was cheating on me," I said before His Lordship was glancing over his shoulder.
"Good to know then," he said before he moved away. I smirked before Lyana was smacking my chest playfully. I laughed.
"Ow, what was that for?"
"Do you have to be obnoxious with him? He did not do anything wrong," Lyana defended him before I growled.
"Not when you care for him. What if I was to flirt with anyone else? Would you like that?" I asked her before she blushed. She glared at me before she was pushing me to the wall. Looks who's angry now. I smirked.
"See what I mean?"
Lyana looked at me before she was putting her mouth close to my left ear and whispered.
"If I ever catch you with someone other than me, you know what I can do, right?" She said as she was playing with my chest. I smirked before I was looking at her eyes that were darkened with danger.
"Of course, if you catch me," I said before Lyana scoffed at me.
"And I will. Remember who I was? I am La Femme Bleu. No one can catch me, even you, my fiancé,'' Lyana said before I kissed her mouth.
"Whatever you say, my love," I said before we were going out of the hallway and we're moving quietly to the study room that we know this afternoon.
I was looking around before the butler was not around. I think His Lordship has made sure that he will not be coming around now. He can make up any excuse if he wanted to. I sighed before I was moving forward and we were looking around before Lyana opened the study room door and we're inside.
"Okay, let's do this," I said as I was looking at the safe that was behind the desk. Lyana was opening the safe with her bobby pin before I was guarding the situation. When it opened, we looked inside and it was there.
"Thank god!" Lyana said before she took it and I was holding her hand before we were ready to make our journey.
But nothing happened.
"What's wrong?" I asked Lyana as she was shaking the gem in her hand but still, we're here.
"There must be something that triggered it,'' I said before someone was coming into the study room and I was standing in front of Lyana to protect her when I saw His Lordship was standing at the door.
"Stop, you thief!" He said before we were looking at the window and we nodded. Time to escape then.
"Guards! Help! Thieves!" His Lordship said as I was opening the window and I was holding Lyana's hand before she cut herself on the ledge of the window.
"Ow!"
No time, we have to get out of there now.
"Come on!" I said before Lyana was holding the gem in her wounded hand before we were jumping out the window.
Then, something happened.
The bright light was coming from the gem as I was looking at the ground prepare to land but it never came.
We were gone into thin air.
