Evan clanked his boots as he walked down the stone walled hallway. This is the inside of the royal castle and it's every bit as fancy as he was expecting.
He's currently nervous all the way to his bones, he's alone in enemy territory on a mission to rescue his baby Saika.
Sadako went along with Avery to confront the one who actually created the world of Neodeka. Goliath as it turns out is the man who sent Sadako and Atsuko to Neodeka.
His two daughters spent countless years in that world fighting for their lives and getting stronger. Until one day he confronted the two of them and said
"The two of you have gotten so powerful I'm almost proud of you. This doesn't end until one of you kills the other, you can use all your power and any other souls I might send to that world to win."
Goliath made their prison into some sort of death game, Sadako and Atsuko famously fought with each other for years. They fought so long they had become evenly matched despite Atsuko having advantage of her full dragon form.
Sadako has phsychic powers that allowed her to move things with her mind, open the gate to the phantom realm, and now she can even heal people with her power. Unfortunately, she hadn't discovered that ability in time to save Blair.
Though if Sadako and Avery succeed in their current mission, they will obtain the key that will save Blair.
Evan followed the map that Sada drew for him, she is surprisingly an amazing artist. The map looked basically professional even though she only used a piece of paper and a pencil.
Even more astonishing, she drew this map and it represented the layout of this castle perfectly.
She drew it from her memory. Even though she hadn't stepped foot inside this castle in 303 years, the map had no mistakes.
Evan felt that his wife would never cease to amaze him. That feeling of amazement felt that much heavier when he remembered that Sada is currently in such a dangerous situation though.
Evan finally reached the room he was looking for. There were two guards outside the door, Evan couldn't see inside from his position but he put himself on edge. Both guards at the door are demons.
In the royal castle there are two types of guards, Elves and Demons.
Demons are the superior of the two, and much more rare as there are only 13 Demon families left alive in Jigoku. The fact that there are 2 demon guards goes to show how important Goliath views Saika.
Goliath might rightfully be her grandfather, but Sadako would never let him have her. He is a lunatic that ordered his children to die after all.
Evan trained countless hours for this very moment. Sadako trained him herself, Evan was now extremely skilled in combat.
He briskly walked up towards the room, his eyes were dead serious. The guard on the left noticed him first, he turned towards Evan and began to speak.
"Hey- This is a restricted area, let me see some identif- eughhh!!!"
Evan had formed blades in each of his hands. When he approached the first guard he kicked out the back of his knees. When that demon lost his balance Evan grabbed him by his horns and twisted his entire head so far that you could hear his neck breaking. Evan turned around to find the second demon directly behind him, he blocked the swing of the demons sword with his left blade while running towards him. With a shiiing sound his left blade ran up the sword before his right blade stuck into the demons throat and sliced cleanly through to the other side.
The armor of the royal guards is very sturdy and effective against attacks, however there are flaws in the joints and jugular area that can prove quite fatal in battle.
The second demon collapsed to the ground gargling on his own blood. Evan quickly peered inside the room in an attack position, luckily there was only a handmaid standing beside baby Saika. She was sitting in a luxurious crib.
The handmaid looked terrified, she's probably the one who's been nursing Saika in Sadako's place since Goliath forcibly stole their baby.
"Its okay, don't try anything and I won't hurt you. I'm just here to save my baby."
"Y-y-yyy-you're the father?"
"Yes ma'am, are you the one who's been taking care of Saika here?"
"Saika? Oh yes, though they didn't tell me her name was Saika so I've been calling her Emii.."
"She looks like she's been taken care of well, I'm most grateful to you but I'm here to take her back now."
"Oh- yes…well, she's a good child I'll cherish this past month I've spent with her."
Evan picked Saika up with a loving smile, she giggled when he bounced her up and made a goofy face.
Now starts the hard part, Evan has to get Saika outside to the cart without alerting any other guards to his presence.
In his training for this moment, Sadako had Evan hold countless water balloons. If Evan couldn't pass his training without rupturing the water balloons then he could never be fully prepared for a worst case scenario of defending Saika and himself from any enemies.
"Now Saika you have to be quite so we can get out of here and mommy and uncle Avery will be right behind us okay?"
"gubugubueegh!"
Evan was sweating immensely as he continued to walk back down the path that Sadako had laid out. Every time he saw guards he'd take an alternate path.
Eventually without any major incidents they reached the front gate, there was a loud slam coming from the throne room earlier which alerted all of the guards. Evan and Saika were free and clear, though there was a knot in Evan's chest thinking about Sadako's safety.
It had seemed like he had already succeeded as he was walking right up beside the giant cargo cart. That was when his entire body was suddenly wrapped in chains and Saika was taken out of his arms by a girl with white hair.
"Mmm! Gmmhhmmmbbgg!!!!"
Evan squirmed furiously though he couldn't move or talk and the chains bound him.
"Okay, I'm sorry about this but I have a lot to say so I'll be quick. First of all, my name is Chrono and I'm taking Saika for a little while to teach her some things she needs to know about the future.
You see, your daughter has the power of a god. At her own will she can travel through time. There is a lot of bad stuff that's going to happen in the not too distant future. It's a future where all of you, plus Saika will die.
You don't want that future, although it's going to be nearly impossible to avoid it. By nearly impossible, I mean like 600,000,000,000 to 1.
Anyways, I Chrono vow to teach Saika everything she needs to know to help you avoid that future.
On top of that, you Evan Shadows are a descendant to an ancient clan of dark sorcerers that learned how to use the power of the gods. You have the power of creation lying within you. You can create Earth, water, even control the weather.
I will return her to you once you have learned those abilities. In order to do that, you must find your sister Cera who will appear at these coordinates exactly 3 days from now."
Chrono stuffed a folded piece of paper with the coordinates written into Evan's pocket. He screamed relentlessly causing a sigh to erupt from Chrono in reply.
"...That is in the middle of the wasteland, from there I need you to continue on to the town called Selina where you'll run into some familiar faces.
Cera will be returning from another realm, she will have the information you need to know about how to use your abilities.
Train as hard as you can to master those powers and when you do I will appear with Saika.
I'm sorry it has to be this way…
Also, when the chains around you disappear please untie the land dragons. Mom- I mean Sadako and Avery will be coming out of the front gate with several guards chasing them. Without the cart, if the three of you jump on the land dragons you'll get out of here no sweat.
Is that all? Hmmm. I think it is, okay chow!!"
Suddenly chains appeared out of the sky and wrapped around Chrono with Saika in her arms. The chains lifted them up and they disappeared into a mosaic portal in the air.
Chrono wore a smile at first, but just before she disappeared her face expressed one of great sadness.
After they disappeared the chains did as well, Evan was riled up trying to process everything that just happened and everything he just heard.
Suddenly he heard commotion coming from the castle, he remembered what Chrono had said and untied the 2 land dragons. Immediately after that Sada and Avery came out running. Behind them was an entire platoon of guards.
Avery was shooting glass shards at them while Sada was using her power to push them back however there was an excessive amount of them. For every guard they took out 5 more appeared it seemed.
"Jump on quick!!!"
Evan had set the land dragons up perfectly. Sada leapt through the air and landed on the one Evan was sitting on. Avery had climbed up on top of the other one just after sending a huge blast of flames towards the wall of armored guards.
"Evan!!?? Where is Saika!!!???"
Sadako was panicking not seeing her baby, Saika was the entire reason they were here. She began to regret trusting Evan to such an important mission. Her red eyes began to water.
"I- I'll explain on the way…"
Evan didn't even know where to start.
