In the World of Illusions and Nightmares, otherwise known as TWIN, one of the most famous virtual reality game, there is an outrage in the center of the players area.
Standing in an arena a man in black clothes with a crimson red sword waves toward the crowd of people around him.
"Next."
In disbelief, mouths open, all of them look towards the body lying in front of the armored man.
Decked out in white enchanted armor with talismans of high quality and a white sword, anyone would know how powerful a person with such equipment would be.
However they all disregarded it and instead focused on the person.
The White Paladin. One of the top 20 warriors in the whole game, known for his powerful prowess combined with high equipment at least 10 level 50 players would be needed to beat him.
Except one person achieved this.
Arriving in a teleportation circle he immediately made a beeline for the Sword Arena.
Arenas are where people would compete in the profession the Arena says and compete for the top. Each player only received one chance to initiate a single Arena. So all kinds of players flock to it hoping to win it all.
As the name says Swords were tested for the Arena. It lasts until a participant does not enter in 10 minutes. The last person standing in would receive the item of that profession tested with the rank depending on how much damage was dealt.
One after another the black clothed man defeated warrior after warrior until it all added up to at least 1,000 people.
With the White Paladin in the mix without a doubt would the rank be the highest seen in the World of Illusions and Nightmares.
Many people drooled at the kind of sword the system would give to this unknown black man. While others were jealous of such a thing and hoped to find the opportunity to steal it later.
However all of them were wondering who he was. After all not just anyone can withhold an Arena ticket and beat the White Paladin.
In fact all of them know as the system keeps a public list of those with the ticket. And the last one is next to the title Champion.
Champion. The title given to the #1 player in TWIN. One could always hear the system ring out as he defeated a contender for his position or soloed an entire dungeon by himself. Even more outrageous things such as defeating everyone in group battles of 500 people all by himself.
With such a thought nobody dared to enter the Arena for fear of humiliation and unwanted pain.
To keep people grounded in reality as the virtual world gets larger and larger the government arranged a pain receptor that does not harm the body but just feels the pain.
Barbaric but surprisingly works better than expected as people have been more cautious because of it.
The man indifferently ignored them and waited for the next opponent. Searching with his eyes of who else there might be.
When more than 9 minutes passed he was about to call out again only for a message to appear in front of him.
[Warning! The system has begun to crash we strongly urge players to log out until the problem can be fixed.]
(Damn It!)
The man swore as if the system crashed then the reward from the Arena would be deleted and that is unacceptable to him.
Players one by one leave until only the man was left standing alone. Looking at the timer he counted down with his finger ready to press the log out button once the timer ended.

Just when he was about to touch the logout button to time with the rewards the system crashed.
[0:0@&$)&$$()&(;;$(;:]
With enough anger to burn a house down he presses on the logout button to get out.
The surroundings blacked out. Within the black space he patiently waits for the feeling of his body to return to him.
Feeling his hands he lifts them to his face to remove the headset sighing all the while.
(Out of all times why did it crash in the one time I did the Arena.)
His hands were near his face when they reached for the headset. Only to feel nothing but air.
(Huh? No headset?)
Opening his eyes he's greeted with tall warm brown trees staring at the crystal green leaves enthralled by the mystical feeling coming from them.
On the floor he stands up quickly staggering at trying to find out why he was here and not in his room.
(Just got scammed and now this!? Did I get kidnapped by someone while I was playing VR?)
However in the world he knew at the very least leaves are not like that!!!!
(Wait? Don't those look like the game's trees from the Avalon Forest?)
In the game World of Illusions and Nightmares, The Avalon's Forest contains the nature race. All those who live in nature could be considered pet of the nature's race.
However the Avalon's Forest could be considered their capital as it contains the World Tree. With that this forest was the most guarded place welcomed by no one except by invitation. Trespassing means death. Even level 90 players have tried but failed.
Bracing himself with only one way to figure it out he yells in his mind.
