"Robin, please man the guns. Blast anything in our way with the kinetics and any big monster with the Suckerball." She got my accompanying mental explanation and nodded. That's when I panicked and realized that I had planned for more crew members and had not made a central gunnery station!
I told Robin to wait for a minute. She frowned at me, and then headed out to take care of cleansing herself of magical leftovers. She hadn't done that since level ten, so I was relieved that that discomfort could be taken care of while I fixed my mistakes.
Quickly, I made some modifications to the truck in the VMD. I deleted the prototype, as it was a mental eyesore. I then added a gunners seat behind the driver's seat facing the other way, and stretched the framework with projection enchantments to cover that seat as well. I created a gunnery board with an on/off switch in front of the chair. There was a joystick in the middle to control the Suckerball, knobs around the corners to control each of the kinetics elevation and turn radius, and trigger switches to fire the kinetics and put the Suckerball in automatic firing mode.
Noticing the difficulty of loading eight guns manually from our seats without any ammo, I decided to create an automated ammo supply system for the kinetics. I created narrowing pipes that ran from the blender area beneath the truck up each of the four sides before splitting and connecting to a collector. Each collector then fed the chamber of the kinetic via a flexible rubber connection. I enchanted the pipes to suck loose detritus and compress it until it made a solid ball with a two inch diameter. An enchantment inside the rubber attachment detected when the chamber in the gun was empty and would feed in the next round. The collector had a space enlargement enchantment so that it could hold up to a thousand balls. Once it was full, the suction would no longer activate.
Continuing to add hot fixes to glaring issues, I replaced the middle two wheels absorption enchantments with one modeled after the stone that held the Hero Sword. I needed something to reduce ambient mana so that we wouldn't risk smaller monsters spawning after we took care of the giant ones. I hooked the automatic ammo supply enchantments to to a separate CMB, and made sure that it was part of the recharge circuits from mana absorption.
To make the place more comfortable, I added a small commode chamber in the rear of the truck so that Robin could do her business on the road. Cleansing enchantments would remove any smells and dirt and would be charged by the magic leftovers removed from her system. Finally, I added an everfull ice chest behind her seat that always had two bottles each of water, coke, sprite, beer, wine, iced coffee, and Powerade. Can't have my woman get dehydrated, after all.
That's when I realized how much I liked her. She was a very gung ho tomboy that wanted to be needed, but at the same time had an extremely feminine side. Her drive for improvement and to help others were very attractive. I decided it was time to give her a crash course on the nature of reality. If I wanted her to stay with me, she needed to see the whole picture first.
Lastly, I changed the benches for bigger and more comfortable couches facing inwards. I then made sure that each seat had a shoulder harness so that nobody would fly off into the ceiling if the truck was somehow flipped.
I saved my changes and commanded, "Overwrite." I smiled as my truck instantly became much more comfortable.
Robin stepped back in and widened her eyes in surprise. "I like what you've done with the place."
She folded her arms and glared at me. "Now tell me how you can do this, use psionic powers, and do your flying. You are obviously not a typical Hero."
I smiled. "I'll tell you once you man the guns. Woman the guns? Anyways, that way we can go kill stuff while I give you the fundamentals." It would be better if she was sitting down for this talk.
