Chapter 2 - Big Brother

[Now what nen ability should I try developing?]

Nen has 6 different aura types. Every person born belongs to a corresponding type that reflects or may change in dependence on personality and environment.

In order they would be:

Enhancers

Emission Transmuters,

Manipulation Conjuring

Specialist

Originally Kurt was Loyal and brave. I would believe him to be an Enhancer who are known to being so straightforward with their feelings. The best way to find my aura type is through water divination.

I get a wooden cup from the cupboard filled with water. Gently, without spilling, I take it to the back and place an intact leaf on the water. To check my aura type, all I have to do is use Ren on the water and see what happens.

[I wonder if a new season of Dragon*all will come out while I'm gone. Wanna know what happens after Ultra instinct..]

*tzzzz*

My aura envelops the cup and the leaf slowly lifted its stem. Slowly the leaf started floating above the water with the point facing the water with a tint of blue surrounding it.

[...]

What in the world? That's different from the regular categories.

If the quantity of water changes, that means you're an Enhancer.

If the color of the water changes, that means you're an Emitter.

If the taste of the water changes, that means you're a Transmuter.

If the leaf itself moves, that means you're a Manipulator.

If impurities appear in the water, that means you're a Conjurer.

If anything else happens...

[ So I'm a specialist. But this reaction kind of looks like? Omen?]

I was imaging the anime before I applied ren to the water, so what if I imagined the first golden transformations in the show...

*tzzzz*

The leaf once again floated above the water, pointy tip facing down, and this time was enveloped in a faint golden tint. So perhaps my assumption is correct. Is my hatsu influenced by my imagination?

If I attempted a different anime imagining something else say Nar*to, what would happen?

*tzzzz*

This time the leaf didn't do anything different. It floated on the water and had the same blue tint in it as the first time. So I'm limited to the dragon*all universe.

Now that I know that, I can develop some applications of hatsu, also known as act. To enforce my will and my aura will make it a reality. If ultra instinct is my base state then I must start there.

In the anime, Goku practiced this state by mediation. Its a state of being and not really a transformation. But this state is harmful to mortals without enough divine training so I'll have to start at a more fundamental level: God ki.

This is very similar to nen so it shouldn't be difficult to practice but might be difficult to attain. Nen is the enveloping of your body in aura while God ki is powering up while keeping your ki inside your body. For success, I'll have to train in Zetsu and ren at the same time until I can increase my aura without letting it leak. If my guess is correct and my specialist characteristics are the abilities from Goku's universe...

[This will break the system] I sigh to myself.

__________

A year has passed.

In my meditation, my father comes home early one day. I guess this is a good stopping point for now. It's time for the next part of my plan to survive.

"Papa!" I yell running into his embrace. This man has absolutely no significance to the story. In the anime, when you are first introduced to Kurt, no father is ever seen. In fact, he is never mentioned.

"I'm home son" my father smiles back. His name is Ken. Regular man with a slim build, athletic and well-trained body from hunting for so long. He has short black hair, thin eyebrows, and grey eyes. So pretty much a bigger version of what I currently look like. Perhaps my name Kurt came from him as well.

"Welcome home dear." says my mom from the kitchen. " How was hunting today?"

"It's still strange. We are finding boars and rabbits tied up whenever we go out. They leave the animal and leave no trace. Truly incredible people but I wish I could thank them."

"Yes, they have really saved the village," says Haruna.

"Papa! I wanna show you something. Can we go outside?" I ask.

"We'll have to ask mommy first." My father looks warmly towards the kitchen where my mom is preparing dinner. She has a small belly sticking out now.

"hehe, you two get along so well. Go play, but don't forget to wash your hands when you come back. Dinner will be ready soon."

I take my father outside while pulling his hand. Its time for the big reveal. I let go of his hand and stand atop a stump in the backyard to reach chest height.

"I'm the incredible person leaving tied animals around dad," I confess.

"Eh?"

"Yes, I'm the one bringing the food."

"Now, son I love you but how can you tie those big animals with your small body?"

Evidence is the best proof. I step down from the stump with a ready boulder near the edge of the backyard. This boulder is 27 cubic feet and probably weighs about 4500 pounds.

"Hey get away from the boulder Kurt! You'll hurt yourself," says my dad already rushing towards me. I take a lifting posture in front of the boulder my muscles, enforced with aura, easily lift the boulder over my head with one hand.

"Dad I'm going to leave NGL soon. But when I do, I have to make sure that you can do this. So I can leave with peace of mind." My father stares at me flabbergasted.

I go back to the stump and behind it is a diagram drawn on beast hide describing nen.

"Dad I'm going to teach you how to get stronger".

__________

"Wahaaaaaa. Wahhhhh"

"Congratulations Haruna! It's a baby girl" said Lila smiling warmly. The years have brought Haruna some weight, making her more vibrant with energy.

"Thank you, Lila," says Haruna while being handed the baby. "I will call you Reina. Come say hi to your little sister Kurt."

Another year has passed. My mother, now much healthier, has given birth to my kid sister Reina. I never was an older sibling in my past life. I was the youngest. So I don't know if I'll be a good big brother to you Reina, but I'll make sure that our future is not what was shown in the show.

My father comes back much faster from hunting. They have been having a lot of success while out hunting. Of course, it's my doing. This keeps them home, and hopefully, my dad won't strangely disappear by the time I'm nine and the world comes knocking.

In the meantime, their little search party has become synonymous with luck. Like they have god's blessing for always finding food on every hunt now.

I'll let them believe what they want. I'd rather not show my hand to the village just yet. My father is the only one that needs to know about me and seems to find me much more reliable than before.

Now, If I'm right on the timeline of this world, this is the year Kite, a pro hunter, goes to look for Ging on Whale Island but finds Gon, the main character instead. Next year Pokkle will be taking the 284th hunter exam and fails during the 4th phase. I'd rather not run into anybody significant to the main cast just yet. So I'll have to take the hunter exam this year or I won't be able to do anything in my 5-year-old body.

I have gotten as strong as I can by staying here. Hunting animals and meditations can only take me so far. Without actual experience, my strength means nothing. All events triggered in this place won't be seen for another 4 years. I just became a big brother and I already have to say goodbye to my cute little sister.

[Sigh some big brother I am]
